Review: Monsters Inc was a humorous movie with a kind hearted nature. I think it helped my kids(4yr and 2 1/2)realize that the monsters in the closet are really not real & not to be feared. It held their interest throughout the movie as well as mine!!! A 5 star thumbs up!!!

Summary: Fantastic!!
Review: I am a big fan of anything Disney to begin with, so everytime a new movie comes out, my husband, myself and my kids, (ages 2 & 4) go see it. This was excellent!!! Infact we are seeing it again this weekend and when it comes out on video/DVD, I'll be at the disneystore waiting in line to buy it!!!

Summary: Things that go "BOO!" in the night
Review: Fully computer-animated effects, slapstick humor, and Disney in-jokes... Disney and Pixar have done it together for the fourth time. "Monsters Inc." creates a unique and whimsical other world where your meighbors slip down the sewer, you wear garbage-smelling deoderant to attract the opposite sex... and electrical power is generated by screams from kids in our world. Jimmy Sullivan, a.k.a. Sully, is the all-time scare champion in the Monsters Inc. company, although this big furball does have a soft side. He and his sarcastic sidekick, Mike the cyclops, end up trying to protect an adorable little girl nicknamed Boo from evil, slippery Randall the chameleom monster, as well as the rest of the monsters who are deathly scared of children. The movie does have many good points. The Star Wars Episode II teaser trailer took my breath away, and the cartoon trailer with the birds on the telephone wire was as inspiring as it was hilarious. (THIS IS FOR ANYONE WHO EVER GOT PICKED ON FOR BEING A FREAK!!!) The movie itself was funny, the scenes with Randall's disappearing act were genuinely suspenseful, and it offers natural suggestions for supernatural phenomena such as monsters coming out of kids's closets. However, I gave the movie three stars because it isn't quite up to normal Disney-Pixar standards. The characters' personalities aren't as well rounded as in "A Bug's Life" or the "Toy Story" movies, and they are harder to relate to. While there was enough humor to last though the movie's 90 minutes, there were no real laugh-your-head-off-and-accidentally-spill-your-coke-on-the-person-in-front-of-you kind of moments. "Monsters, Inc." is a fun movie, but still, I've seen a lot better.

Summary: It STINKS!!!
Review: The plot is boring and uninvolving. The human characters are a throwback to the bug-eyed maniquins of early Pixar. ANOTHER sappy Randy Neuman soundtrack. Sully is too symetrically designed and lacks character. Moving fur...big deal!! How bout engaging story?! Comic "genius" Billy Crystal plays the same wise-guy character in every movie he's in, including this one. The ending chase is directly lifted from Toy Story 2. From the promos, the people at Pixar appear a little too self-satisfied by this stale offering. They should try some more adventuresome stuff and not be bogged down by the LITERALNESS of the 3D computer medium. Watch some Fleisher cartoons, Pixar.!!! You've got a friend in me :)

Summary: Loved every minute of it and so did my grandson!
Review: Monsters, INC. was the first theatre movie my three year old grandson has seen. He was glued to my lap the entire time and was completely enthralled the entire time. He loved it! While some people may say there wasn't enough belly laughs for the adults...let's admit it. It's for the little ones and if we get some side joy ourselves...then great!
I loved the character Boo and her lack of fear was refreshing. Mike was precious and so was Sully. Just a great movie all in all!

working behind the scenes on Pixar's Toy Story films.
They took a chance having someone other than John
Lasseter helm this one-- and it paid off big time. In case you've been living under a rock for the past
six months, a quick plot summary: friends and
roommates James P. Sullivan (John Goodman-- the big
blue hairy guy) and Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal-- the
eye) work at Monsters, Inc., the company that provides
the monsters that inhabit the closets of human
children. They do this because the sonic vibrations of
childrens' screams are the source of their world's
power. Nifty, huh? They've also been brought up to
believe that being touched by a human is instant
death. Through various machinations, a human child
ends up coming through a closet door and landing in
Monstropolis, the town where the monsters live, and
the news of this has roughly the same effect as a nuclear bomb threat in the middle of a major
metropolitan area. Guess who gets stuck with the kid
and has to find a way to get her back to the human
world? Pixar have always been good at balancing the edge
between kid-friendly and adult-oriented, and never
more so than in this movie. There's enough physical
comedy to keep the kiddies happy, while the movie's
main plot and emotional subtexts go way over their
heads and keep the adults interested. Top-notch
casting (James Coburn, Steve Buscemi, and a host of
other top-of-the-B-listers join Crystal and Goodman),
Pixar's trademark cutting-edge animation, and one of
the best scripts in years make this not only another
bullet in Pixar's belt, but the best one yet. **** 1/2

Summary: Move over Shrek
Review: After the huge success of Toy Story and A Bug's Life, Pixar has been living high expectations. Monsters, Inc. is no exception. Even after seeing a such a barrage of computer-animated films, I was still impressed with what Pixar has single-handedly done once again. And despite fancy visuals, this movie is awesomely entertaining. Right off the bat, the storyline is surprising and interesting, and follows such pursuit throughout the entire show. I was so involved, in fact, I really did not want it to end. On top of this, the characters are wonderful (done with magnificent voices and animated equally well). I also find very few movies that make me laugh out loud in the theatre. Monsters, Inc. brought the best in me. Get in line to buy this one on DVD, because this much fun only comes around once.

Summary: Super, Supre kids movie...
Review: I've heard it said that, "This is no Shrek". Well, thank goodness no. I can't take my child three year old son to see Shrek, the inside jokes, innuendo and vulgarity are too much for him. Shrek was for teens, Monsters Inc. is for little ones and it is great. There was nothing objectionable about it. The only problem was that it is about monsters, and after the movie, we had to do lots of reaffirmation that this was just pretend and not real. A week has gone by now, and there have been no bad dreams, just lots of great talking from my son about Mike and Sulley. I am certain that we will be pre-ordering this item as soon as possible. On an adult note, this computer animation is incredible. There are a few scenes where the monster's fur is blowing in the wind - Amazing, is all I can say. Definitely, recommended.

Review: I didn't think Monsters, Inc. would live up to all of the hype, but it definately did! Boo is asbolutely adorable and John Goodman and Billy Crystal are perfect in their roles. A must see!

Summary: A Monstrously Good Family Film!
Review: There is an unwritten rule that ALL childern, when growing up, must believe that there is a monster living in the closet or even under their bed. I know when I was younger I thought the same exact thing. And worst yet, my room use to be near the basement! I thought that was the meeting ground for all monsters to get together, or the "Monstropolis" as it's know in this film. The city of monsters. "Monsters,Inc.", is without any doubt one of the BEST family films to come out this entire year! "Shrek" has had quite a big following, but, the problem with that movie is, it's too "adultish" for childern. Not that's there anything wrong with that. But, "Monsters,Inc" is aimmed more at childern. And, will they ever love this movie. Considering all that's happened within the last 2 months, I honestly can't think of a better way for a family to spend some precious quality time together other than going to see this film. Thanks to Billy Crystal, who plays a one eye monster named Mike Wazowski.
This film does have moments where parents will not be bored. There are some nice one-linners by Crystal that keep this film going along.The story is about J.P. Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman, which was a pretty good choice) and Mike (Crystal) who are the all time leading "scare" monster team. You see in Monstropolis the monsters need to "collect" screams so the city will have energy. But, lets always remember that these monsters, "scare because they care", so says their tagline. "Sully" is about to get some competition from Randall Boggs (voiced by Steve Buscemi, who again, was an excellent choice). Randall is closing in on "Sully's" record to be the all time king of scares.
Right now, I've given you a basic plot-line of "Monsters,Inc.", I don't want to spoil everything for those of you who haven't seen it. This is really going to be a treat for younger childern, my guess is between the ages of 4-7. "Monster,Inc." has some great,impressive animation, if for any reason, you should go see it for that. I don't like childern films, infact I hate them! But, because of the animation and Crystal, and the fact that when I saw this movie the theater was full of childern and I heard their reaction, which was non-stop laughter, "Monsters, Inc." is the top choice for some family entertainment.
