Summary: Too short...
Review: I loved it, yes. But it needed something more to it. There wasn't much Kurama or Hiei apperences in it. I prefer the second movie (Poltergeist Report) or the series to this one.

Review: I love Anime, and love YYH even more, but The First Movie, dubbed is a BAD representitive. What's wrong with their original names! You want it dubbed, that's fine, but excuse me, Eugene? Vincente! DENNIS! WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY SILVER/RUBY-TRESSED KITSUNE-CHAN (THAT KARASU JUST DOESN'T SEEM TO KEEP HIS ITCHING HANDS OFF OF)! I personally have no problem with the names, but come on, be real...DENNIS just DOESN'T replace the nice ring 'Kurama' (have to do with stealth...suits him doncha think?) adds to the show. Thank heavens that I had my Relena Peacecraft doll to work my frustration off of, otherwise I think I might've blew up my VCR.

The names aren't the only bad thing. It was too short, not enough Kurama, and the words are just a little off. *cough cough* I speak a little Japanese, and I've seen the original Japanese version, and they completely screwed up what the characters are *trying* to say.

Take my advice, save your money and your time, either get the second movie (SUBBED) or if you REALLY want to see this one, get the subtitled version.

Review: It's great for kids, but it was too short, not worth the money, slightly childish, too much Kuwabara, and my biggest gripe...NOT ENOUGH KURAMA AND HIEI!!!!

Oh well, at least I know it's better than the dubbed version. *cringes at the dubbed names*

Summary: Another wonderful piece of work by Yoshihiro Togashi!
Review: Yuu Yuu Hakusho movie one is mainly about Koenma and Koashura, an old 'friend', kidnapping him. It's really great, and is unbelievably funny at the end! YYH rules!

Summary: This movie is totaly safe 4 little kids I'd say 6 and up
Review: The movie was ok.. but the voices were awful compared to their others. My favorite movie of this kind was the Poltergeist Report one! I'd really suggest that movie if you want to see a Yu Yu Haukusho Type Movie. The drawings were not even as close as good as their other movies either. But I really think this is a cute movie for younger viewers around 6 and up.

Summary: YYH at it's Finest
Review: I have read plenty of reviews on this one- enough in fact, that I hadn't expected too much out of the movie. As a hard-core YYH fan, I expected a pro-longed episode. It was very much that- your typical Yuusuke and the gang saves the day from power-hungry demons that try to rule the Ningenkai once again. However, the animation is superb- much better than the series. The voice actors and actresses are very different in their voices- but it depends on your style to whether or not you like them better or worse than the original dubbed cast. The plot line is basically the same as always, Yusuke is cutting classes- Emergency arises in the Spirit World- Evil demons come to take-over- and the foursome (Kurama, Hiei, Yuusuke and Kuwabara) come to save the day with fist fighting and spiritual power to boot.
Personally, I loved the plotting. I believe it is Yuu Yuu Hakusho at it's best, however the story line could be thicker, if they had more time and energy (or funding) to do so. My one complaint is that they added in a new character- Hinageshi, who in my opinion, is a little whiny. Also, I was not fond of the voice acting, so I watch it in it's original Japanese with subtitled state. I would definitly recommend Yuu Yuu Hakusho- Poltergeist Report (Also known as "Bonds of Fire") to any YYH fan.

Summary: Even with the English cast of "Slayers," it's still good.
Review: Okay, before you people complain about, "oh, these aren't the same voices as in the TV show!," let me set this straight: This movie was released in the U.S. FOUR years BEFORE FUNimation brought Yu Yu Hakusho to the states and made it popular in America. Until then, this movie was only a video release by U.S. Manga Corps. Then, after FUNimation released Yu Yu Hakusho in the states and it became a success, U.S. Manga Corps. probably decided to cash in on the craze by releasing the film on DVD. With that said, even if people had seen the movie before, the voices probably would get on their nerves... after all, the people who did the dub for this also did "The Slayers," "Revolutionary Girl Utena," and most 4KIDSProductions dubs. And if you've seen them, it's pretty obvious that they aren't exactly the most talented. Still, the film does have a pretty good plot, and I'm always happy to know a bit more about Kurama's past(and this film deals with some of it). The movie probably takes place between the events of the Dark Tournament saga and the Sensui saga(as Hiei has now summoned the Black Dragon Wave(which is called correctly in this, not Dragon of the Darkness Flame), but Yusuke is not training with Raizen). The music is really good, I do like hearing the orchastrated version of the TV series music, and the ending theme(Never Say Goodbye) is excellent. If you were disappointed with the first Yu Yu Hakusho film, don't worry, this one more than makes up for it.

Summary: Its an Ok movie.
Review: In all, it was a decent movie. But, the voices disappointed me so much. I am a huge YYH fan and an even bigger Kurama fan. I adore his voice(s) (Shuichi and Youko), and they killed it in this movie. Kuwabara's voice scared the crap out of me; and they mispronounced his name throughout the entire movie. They completely ignored the 'b' in his name; and replaced it with a 'h'. Plus, Yusuke's voice lacked his sarcasm and attitude. I did like the animation; it had a little something different from the series that I liked. The fights were rather boring and a lot of running around. My favourite thing, was the fact that Kouronue appeared in it. I have been searching for him ever since I heard about him in the series and among my friends. Even though it wasn't the real him, I adored his character. I saw this movie On Demand since I have Comcast Digital Cable. I recommend that you either rent the movie or borrow it from a friend. It was good, but it definitely did NOT add up to the glory of the series.
