Review: Well, in chronological order, the Christmas special was released first, the Spring special second, and the OAVs (titled Again) were released last. That is the order I will talk about them in.

Christmas special - 5 stars
This was the best thing to come out of Love Hina in my opinion. The story of the episode was really sweet, chasing after the thought of a mini-Todai love story. What I mean by this is that if someone confesses on Christmas, they will love each other and be together forever, so it is said. The characters take this into account and you see their true feelings and how they want to go about dealing with it. This is what I think Love Hina is really about. Since the TV series didn't have much closure and the Spring Special only did so in a mediocre way, I feel this is the episode that I will keep on watching from time to time to remind me of why I love Love Hina.

Spring Special - 3 Stars
This was the first true ending to Love Hina until the OAVs came out. The premise of this special was that Keitaro and Naru took the entrance exam to Todai but Keitaro fell asleep and thought he totally bombed. Dreadfully ashamed, he left which led to the cast of girls trying to find him. The search ends on an island, meeting up with a girl named Nyamo. The point of this is that it is very unfulfilling and that the OAVs did not help but to make the series become even more unfulfilling.

Love Hina Again - 1 Star
I always wonder, why make more if it doesn't serve any purpose but to ruin the earlier series? This is what happened. They introduce a new character, Kanako, who is Keitaro's step sister who is in love with Keitaro as well (big surprise). This is after Keitaro leaves with Seta on another anthropological trip, leaving the Hinatasou unattended. All this OAV did was create stupid plot lines and more fan service that just made me sad while watching it because I still remember how much I absolutely loved the TV series. It didn't give closure to the series that I had put so much heart into.

Final Note: Do not get me wrong and think that I am bashing Love Hina. This series quickly became my favorite for its characters, lightheartedness and story about promise and love. But I felt that a lot of that got lost on the way. After the TV series and the Christmas special, I haven't felt that same spark from its other additions. Love Hina Again turned a lot of the focus on fan service, (which I as a fan, was insulted) instead of keeping the original focus and flow of love as the aspect which they had originally built so beautifully.
