Summary: Great DVD Transfer ; Bad Special Features
Review: The many risqué misadventures of Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad have finally been put on DVD and made available to the masses, and while every episode is crystal clear w/ exceptionally good sound, the special features are lacking. Along with the 16 episodes of the first two seasons the special features consist of: The original director's cut of "Rabbot", commentary on "Rabbot, "Space Conflict from Beyond Pluto" & Mayhem of the Mooninites", and never-before-seen-footage. With all these features it'd be insane to say it dulls the quality of the DVD... right? Wrong. While it was interesting to listen to the creator commentary I felt that it just wasn't enough because there were many instances where the creators would just stay silent for a few minutes and not say anything, which left me feeling a little awkward. At times the intervals would be so long that it would seem as if you were merely re-watching the episode w/ the volume turned down, and I found that to be very disappointing. Other than this, the only other noticeable flaw I found was that some of the curse words were edited out in the episodes which I found to be outrageous. Though I can sit through these side-splitting episodes without having to hear fowl language, I had previously read from other reviews that these episodes contained scenes and situations (i. e. language usage) that was cut off the Adult Swim broadcast. Needless to say after reading this and having seen that the language had still been cut out, I felt that I had been ripped off a bit. Aside from these two shortcomings, the DVD is great overall and the price from Amazon cannot be beaten. I would recommend this DVD to any person who loved ATHF on Adult Swim as it does bring back memories from old episodes. The navigability is impressively easy and there isn't much "red tape" to have to go through to get to what you really want to see when you buy a DVD. All in all, these episodes will leave anyone with a sense of humor rolling on the floor laughing time and time again, and in my opinion, is an absolute must for everyone's DVD collection.

Summary: Achieve peace and serenity in less than 12 minutes
Review: Watching an episode (all under 12 min) of Aqua Teen Hunger Force is comparable to hours of meditation. There are few shows that will clear your mind and cheer you up this well. However the show is not well appreciated by those who attempt to understand it. Out of all the episodes I have seen over the years, I recall only one where the plot actually achieved resolution. Additionally, the program might not be enjoyed by some because a certain level of understanding and amusement for the eccentricities of Bridge and Tunnel Trash (residents of New Jersey) is required.
The relationships and interactions of the main characters and their neighbor provide a wonderful barometer against which to measure your own friendships.
All told its wonderful programing.

Summary: Really, REALLY funny show!
Review: I first saw this on the Cartoon Network when Adult Swim first came out in September 2001. I was quite surprised by its content. Though the program is extremely farfetched and does not make ABSOLUTELY no sense, it's exactly what makes this show extremely funny with its crude humor and animation. Follow the adventures of Master Shake, Frylock & Meatwad as they do battle with the evil Ignignokt and Err of the Mooninites in a rediculous storyline and plot that will have you on the floor rolling around and laughing your head off! Now that this's finally on DVD, we can experience all the episodes all over again and any time we want! I only wish though that we could get the complete first season (and forward) of "Home Movies" on DVD becuase that's another funny show! I just hope that CN is up to it!

Summary: "I am doing this harder than I have ever done before!"
Review: Finally the funniest show on television is on DVD. The show is hillarious and my most favorite ones are with the Mooninites. It's funny as hell seeing Inignock and Err perform illeagle acts and steal pornogrophy. But don't let them detract you from the rest of the episodes which are all hilarrious as well. Plus you get to see the very first episode in it's early stages. The commentary on one of the episodes comprises mainly of a song about the Aqua Teens done to acousitc. It's blend of fast food, hillarity, stabs at everything, and an old school hip hop soundtrack (performed by Schooly D) provides a hilarrious experence that will have you repeating memoribile lines, and always laughing no matter how many times you watch them! Be on the lookout for the four hidden deleted scenes from "Escape from Leprechaunoplis" scattered throught the discs, as well as the short film "Assisted Living Dracula" (as seen in the episode "Bus of the Undead") cleverly hidden as well. I bet that vol. 2 will have the short film "Vegitable Man" (as seen in the episode "Mooninites Revenge")hidden in the same manner.

Summary: the most original programming on tv
Review: Aqua Teen Hunger Force is some of the funniest and most original series on tv right now, if not ever. It has a warped sense of humor, but then what other kind of humor could you have when your main characters are a talking shake, meatball, and box of fries and their crotchety neighbor Carl. (How could they have pitched this?) The dvd contains 16 episodes and almost all of them are great. The first 2 or 3 stumble a bit and you can see where they were working on really finding the characters, but then they hit their stride and it was no looking back from there. There is also the original cut of the Rabbot episode as well as three commentaries, which are a little weak. It's packaged beautifully. This is a great dvd to have.

Summary: Commence to Jigglin'!
Review: I'm not a huge fan of Space Ghost or most of the other Adult Swim cartoons, but ATHF completely knocked me out the first time I saw it - namely, the episode where Glenn Danzig buys Carl's blood-gushing house. That particular episode isn't on here (I'm hoping it'll be on the next DVD), but everything that is here is hysterically funny in a totally surreal way. My favorite episode is "Happy Time Harry," featuring the depressed talking doll who totally lays into the fantastically inane "Jiggle Billy" action figure. And I still can't get Schooly D's opening theme rap ("Meatwad make the money, see/Meatwad get the honey, G") outta my head...

Review: Sunday nights after 11 p.m., Cartoon Network has a series called "Adult Swim"- by it's name, they're obviously cartoons meant for adults. My favorite of the bunch is ATHF. These screwball characters (crime fighting trio Master Shake, Meatwad and Frylock and their hairy-backed neighbor Carl) were orignally based off an episode of "Space Ghost" and have bred a cult following. It's very diffcult to accurately describe this series, you simply must see it to believe it. It is, without a doubt, the most bizarre, hilarious guilty pleasure. Episodes include:

Summary: Very weird humor, but nonetheless humor
Review: This is one of the weirdest yet funniest shows on TV period. You just have to get past the fact that you are not watching Looney Toons or Disney animation and you will love this DVD. The characters break down as such: Frylock, the leader and most intelligent member of the group, Master Shake, the antagonist and trouble maker, and Meatwad, the simpleton and usually the butt of all of Shakes jokes and antics. Then you have their neighbor Carl who defines what a whitetrash person from Jersey is (I am from New Jersey so I can say this). He wears sweatpants and a wifebeater with a gold chain. He has a car that says Too Wyked on it. His pool becomes the centerpiece of almost every episode, and his lines are always hysterical. The "villians" they fight are always weird yet hysterical. The highlights of this DVD are the two Mooninite episodes. These are recurring characters from the moon who are a throwback to old atari and nintendo animation of the 80's. They have the funniest lines of almost any character. Other highlights include Happy Time Harry, the drunk depressed dancing action figure and evil leprechans that rob people with a rainbow machine. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes family guy and other offbeat animation.

Review: When I first saw ads and such for the Aqua Teens, I thought "Eech. That looks HORRIBLE." And promptly forgot about it... Then one day, I was flipping through the channels and caught the opening credits. There was nothing else on, so I figured what the hell... I think I laughed more in the next fifteen minutes than the previous three years. The Aqua Teens are the most entertaining and inept (save maybe for Frylock) "super" "heroes" (for they are neither) ever devised... The players: Master Shake- the "leader," who is lazier than Homer Simpson and has an ego the size of Brazil; Frylock- a mystical box of fries with an enchanted jewel set in his back; and Meatwad- a (sometimes) brainless lump of raw hamburger meat who can morph into both an igloo AND a hotdog... And of course: Carl, their crass, hard-ass, and lonely metalhead neighbor who has to put up with the teens constant attempts to use his racing-striped ("looks like it's tearing ass in my back yard!") swimming pool, their ability to attract mayhem (everything from sentient mold, to a giant moth in a school bus which may or may not be Dracula (the bus, not the moth), to a suicidal talking doll, to a website that spawns enough pop-up ads to seriously cramp living space), and Master Shake's occassional petty theft. If that sounds weird, rest assured: it is. Trust me: you'll enjoy it. Join the Aqua Teen congregation and rejoice... Can't wait for the next set.

Review: Aqua Teen Hunger Force is absolutely the best cartoon I have ever seen. It had me laughing hysterically every episode. Master Shake, Frylock, Meatwad, and their neighbor Carl manage to get into all sorts of perils throughout the episodes. Filled with witty humor, and wickedly funny animation, ATHF Volume 1 is a superb purchase. If you have seen the show, this DVD is a must-buy. If you haven't, what are you waiting for? Buy the first volume now and enjoy it as much as I have.
