Summary: I LOVE IT!!!
Review: i m usually weary of anime series in general, they r usually cliched and full nonsensical violence and they go on for too god damn long and not to mention sappy. but with Trigun i was sad that it had to end. i m really attached to the characters, it was emotional but not sappy, violent but not stupidly so. and the message is good. the story unfolded nicely, characters were well developed and they always found ways to lighten the mood so it wasnt too depressing. it's better than any series i've ever seen. music was great too, not much ...jazz solos(only at the end, and very little) cowboy bebob makes want to vomit.

Summary: This series just misses being top notch
Review: Overall this is a very good series, so if you are a fan of anime don't deny yourself this classic. It has a very good story with memorable characters, as well as some humor. The only down side is that the ending, while not bad, could have been improved.

Summary: It just doesn't get any better than this.
Review: I'm not sure how it is possible to read reviews from people who did not enjoy the series. Those sour reviews are the reason I wrote this review.

This series is my favorite anime ever. One of my most favorite shows as well. I couldn't stop watching it (hence the boxed set). Now all my friends are joining in on experiencing this excellent series.

You can't go wrong. It's a comedy, drama, action, western, fantasy, sci-fi, romance - you wouldn't think you could put all these together and get anything coherent, but it just shows this shows strength and character.

It's just not possible to walk away from viewing this series and not thinking that Vash the Stampeed is "the baddest man alive." I don't think I've watched any show, movie, or anime who's protaganist could hold a candle to the amount of character Vash has in this series.

My only problem with the series is that it ends after only 26 episodes. But boy, what a trip.

Pick it up - you'll be so glad you did.

Summary: If you can watch anything, you can watch TRIGUN...
Review: I have spent the past 3 years hearing a lot about TRIGUN, and by the reviews here on Amazon.com you would think this MUST be a masterpiece of art and writing unrivaled. Sadly, TRIGUN is not very remarkable in any way and fades into the genre of average anime for kids.

The writing is possibly the biggest error in this series because it makes no sense 80 percent of the time. Stories start somewhere, wobble about, define very little and then end with semi-resolution that leaves questions an average view just WON'T care about. The entire logical, or logically suspended, nature of the world, the society, and the very motivation of the characters is equivocal on most fronts. Marked by punctuations of bizarre expressions, innappropriate vocal expression and blathering unter-philosophy it becomes even more difficult to understand how Vash, Milly or Meryl (or any of the other characters or villains) function. Much is just lazy writing dealing with simple characters squeezed into an unimaginitive world to satisfy a writer's attempt to bridge 'cool' scenes with strange philosophical ramblings...but some of the blame falls on...

The Art. Well, it is hard to say this is anything great. Every building, every hill, everything that could be painted or drawn in the backgrounds looks like identically soupy and nondescript shapes you find in every scene of this series. The direction and art direction obviously doesn't care that no detail or color could be introduced to pull locations apart from each other and thus make this 'Scooby Doo' 1969 with slightly better perspective. The sci-fi element looks neither believable or fantastically imaginitive, and the common designs of buses, bars, streets, and objects is uninspired. Storytelling through film is lost most times because you don't understand where the characters are, and shots sometimes collapse forms to the point of vagueness. The entire series has been designed around a drawing of a guy in a 'cool' coat with a less then amazing gun.

The music is blaring and rudely placed to take the viewer away from the story. It is a kind of reminiscent of Cowboy bebop, but it is the K-Mart version of Yoko Kanno's Rodeo Drive creativity.

The translation is pretty annoying as well. Generally the voices never connect the viewer to the story or emotion save a few tender moments from Vash (except he is usually babbling faux emotion inappropriate for the scene).

Over all, nothing great. Not very funny. There is ACTION, but it is the lazy action chosing sad shots, sequencing and timing making it look lame most times. Story is slow and poorly structured. Design is sloppy and uninspired. Music is oddly placed and disturbing. Yeah....you know the wrap up:

A good thing to watch if you have nothing to do....ever......again. Period.

How it garners such fan fare from anime fans is beyond me when there are far better series and movies out there flaunting excellence.

Summary: Great concept ruined by anime-cliches
Review: This series is a perfect example of classic anime silliness ruining what should have been an excellent experience. The series is beautifully drawn, the old west has a gritty feeling, and the scene is set for one of the finest westerns ever. However, the story can never stay serious for long enough to be convincing! The artist always feels the need to make Vash's eyes get really big and make his mouth take up 90% of his face when he screams. When he dodges bullets he looks like he's having some kind of seizure. Suspension of disbelief falls through the floor at that point. The finest anime are the ones that learn put humor in it's place. A gun battle is not that place.

Save yourself the trouble and get Cowboy Bebop. The more ridiculous of anime art techniques are all constrained to one character in that show, which makes it much more bearable.

Summary: If you like anime, you'll love this set
Review: I watch anime for over 20 yrs, I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly stuff. This series was a cut above the good, its excellent quality. It has everything for anime fans who want something different yet it is also familar. I rates 5 stars just like Cowboy Bebop series, it will keep you wanting more, each one flow well into the next and the last one just made you wish for more. Watch the whole series in order and try to disagree with me.

Summary: Vash the Stampede, biggest badass of anime.
Review: This is one of my favorite animes (fallowing evangelion and cowboy beebop) of all time. It is funny and light hearted, while finding away to get serious every now and than. Vash is one of the best anime heroes, he is very carefree and wants peace in the world, but he is constanly finding himslef in very compromising situations, with comic results. I got the 3 dvd version and it was just fine, the picture and sound were not messed up, and for people who dont want to spend $...+ for 26 episodes I recomend it. Those who were complaning about the quality just need to be less picky

Summary: Humor, action, storyline... Grade A Anime!
Review: I highly suggest picking up this boxed set!

Trigun centers around a man dangerous enough to warrant a [very large]bounty on his head, Vash the Stampede.
Known as the "Humanoid Typhoon" he has a reputation for leaving cities in shambles as he passes through them.
But is he really the man the rumors make him out to be?

Millie and Meryl, representatives of the bernardelli insurance company eventually realize that Vash may not be the monster he's been described as, but rather a dopey blonde haired man who refuses to kill anybody, no matter what the situationm, but still gets out of every situation that comes his way unscathed.

the first half of this series focuses on character development and a few good laughs, eventually though, humor becomes secondary to the action-packed plotline.

This is definitely my all time favorite anime and i highly suggest purchasing it...

Review: I bought the first DVD and greatly regret it. I thought this was going to be very good with everyone saying how good it was. But I was greatly dissapointed, and I never laughed watching the first few episodes, and found myself bored to death hoping that the episodes would come to and end so I wouldnt have to watch them anymore.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: 'Trigun' is one of the best anime series ever. I didn't get bored watching it. It has a perfect balance of action, comedy, drama, and romance. All of the characters are really cool, too. A WORD OF CAUTION: Do not buy the 3-DVD set, it's a bootleg and it's poor quality.
