Rating: Summary: 5 stars cannot begin to do KITE justice! Review: Kite, simply put, is stunningly realistic and superbly directed. It definately puts you in the mind of a La femme Nikita/The Professional with a twist of Matrix style movie. I bought this movie without viewing it first, i found it was worth every penney, from the heart stopping beginning to the anti-dramatic end that keeps you wimpering for more. No anime collection can be complete without Kite, but it today.
Rating: Summary: Excellent animation Review: Second only to Ghost in the Shell, "Kite" featured breakneck action sequences, incredible animation, and a good storyline. The dubbed version is done very well, and has to be the most verbally vulgar anime flick I've seen yet. The end left me confused, however. Who the hell hired the kid?
Rating: Summary: Kite: The Plotless Bloodfest Review: This anime was by FAR one of the worst I have ever seen. There was no real plot. It was simply a giant bloodbath. It seemed as if the writers decided they wanted to make a movie with a lot of blood and killing in it and then built the storyline around that idea. The only good thing that I have to say about "KITE" is the art. The art was actually fairly decent. A few things such as her eyelashes looked a little goofy, but otherwise I thought that if something had to be good about this move, then that was probably it.
Rating: Summary: Kite is awful Review: This was absolutley the WORST anime I have EVER seen! The plot was alright, but the animation was sooooooooo bad, it looked like a 5 year old did it! I may be slightly exagerating, but this movie could really use a beat down. I don't know how the previous people who reviewed this before me could find this anime even slightly interesting. The blood was so cheesy and I just couldn't stand the action scenes. Everything was just so horrible. I love japanese anime, I love all types of classics from Akira and Ghost in the Shell, to Chronicles of the Heroic Knight, but this really takes the cake! Most possibly the worst anime I've ever seen. I wish I could give this a negative one. Finally, don't waste your money on this worthless title.
Rating: Summary: Had potential. Review: Unfortunately, Kite is only a bad B-movie with a typical emphasis on violence and gore instead of developing a strong narrative. Not an Akira or a Ghost in the Shell, and definitely not a La Femme Nikita!
Rating: Summary: Great Anime But Not For Kids Review: I loved this anime it puts everything you love from action movies into a great ADULT anime, this one defenitly is not for kids because of its content. The story goes along pretty well considering its only fortify five minutes, and also the guns that never run out of bullets is great the blood and the fact that the assasins are kids is all good, also the character designs are write on the money if you love a good well done anime, this ones for you!
Rating: Summary: Stunning Review: The only thing that I have to say about this film is it is perfect in every way except one. The characters, the plotline, the action, and the unbeleivably superb animation (Makes Ghost in the Shell look like DragonballZ). But, like many anime films it needs to be longer. It needs at least an hour longer. Perhaps include more in depth flashbacks in order to build a stronger foundation for Sawa's motivation in the story. Oburi also needs a past in the movie other than a seventy second description. The dark and perpetual ending although powerful, comes way too quickly. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend that you see it.
Rating: Summary: What a shame Review: The premise of this anime was terrific, at first. Kite contains all of the elements that has made La Femme Nikita the classic that it is today. However, it felt as though Kite was missing a great deal. Kite's running time needed to be doubled in order to focus more on the relationships between the characters. I felt as though someone decided to edit out half of the story, maybe they did. We are given incredible action sequences throughout Kite, but the end just seems to come as a fizzle. I enjoyed the unexpectedness of the final scenes, but I felt there needed to be much more. Also, the end was not explained or justified, leaving the viewer asking, "Why would that happen?" With such a gripping story, and beautiful animation, it is a shame that Kite was not expanded to its fullest capabilities.
Rating: Summary: Kite is 45 minutes of perfection. Review: Kite is a winner. The movie is rather violent, so may not be for the squeemish. The plot and the anime are top notch. I rank Kite among the elite of my collection along with Ghost in the Shell, Akira, and Ninja Scroll. Buy it.
Rating: Summary: Great Anime But Is it an Original Review: This is a wonderfuly done film. The dialouge goes even beyond the level of Akira. In the since of cheesy lines, there are none. But, it seems that this film has been drasticly altered. I have seen the original uncut only auctioned and would love to find a copy. My email is Flyestdog @aol.com. Please write and help me see the real deal!
