Rating: Summary: Everyone should see this Movie Review: I have loved this film since I was a little girl. It is and always will be one of the greatest animated films of all time. It is magical and wonderous and truly a film for the whole family. They just don't make 'em like this anymore. Everyone should see this!
Rating: Summary: May The Last Unicorn live forever. Review: A trumph of storytelling "the Last Unicorn", has one the best screenplays ever filmed (Thanks Peter S. Beagle). It would be nice to see more authors writing the screenplays of their movie adaptations. Witty and fun the voice cast has done an incredible job of bringing this fairy tale to life. Except for the noted exception of one poorly sung song. I, like many others, first came to love this film as a child. Now, having come back to the movie years latter, the story is deeper and the storytelling is strong enough to thrill me all over again. The Last Unicorn is one of those few fantasies that delivers its message with power but still retains a humor and charm. My only complaint would be the fact you can't find a Widescreen version of the film anywhere. The pan and scan is awful. You are constantly seeing people cut in half throughout the movie. Someone please release a widescreen DVD.
Rating: Summary: Not to be missed, under any circumstances Review: This Movie was on television recently (about 8 months back) and as the opening credits caught my eye (I breathe Anime) I settled down to watch it. By the end of it, I had laughed, cried and been not a Little scared and I'm a 16 year old guy! I wholeheartedly recommend this film to anyone even thinking of buying it. The characters are well realised and animated. The way Shmendrick the bumbling magician and Molly Grue, a girl way down on her luck are very good friends to the unicorn on her journey will warm your heart. The relationship between Lir and Amalthea is very special and powerful and if you're even slightly emotional will have you bawling by the end. As the title says: not to be missed, under any circumstances!
Rating: Summary: didn't read the book, but love the movie Review: My only complaint is a brief scene where the wizard is smashed between a live (female) tree's breasts and says "Oh my g--. I'm engaged to a douglas fir!". Otherwise, a wonderful, well scripted movie. My children ages 8 to 3 were transfixed, and I loved it as a child and still do.
Rating: Summary: The Last Unicorn Review: Wonderful, I loved it as a kid. My only complaint is one brief scene with a huge tree, the wizard says "Oh my g--, I'm engaged to a douglas fir!". Otherwise, it is one of the best fantasy children's films ever made.
Rating: Summary: Timeless classic! Review: This beautiful heart warming story brings us back to the days when we were young and innocent; it provokes the inner child in all of us and definitely brings back some happy memories for me. For those children or adults who haven't seen this emotional film it will bring back your sense of imagination, the one that this society and generation has taken from you. It will show you that love is a powerful thing and that there are such things as happy endings.
Rating: Summary: A gorgeous peice of animation and writing Review: This flim has touched my heart in so many ways.. it truely has magic.. more than disney. The backrounds are beautiful, the characters are touching, the music is simply beautiful.. with the remake due out in autumn 2003 (shhh!)I hope that they keep the music as it one of the masterpeices of this. Those who see this flim.. wether or not you believe in unicorns will truely be touched. Deep down.. it had adult problems..it deals with death and horror.. it deals with longing and love. And.. the ending.. truely leaves you wanting more.

Rating: Summary: The Goodness that is Unicorns and the Movie about Them. Review: I love this movie. My grandparents had it at their house when I was little, and they would let me watch it sometines when I came over. It is of no little amount of sentimental value to me. I love Unicorns, and I always thought that the way this movie ended was a beautiful way to reaffirm the magik in life in a world that has altoghther forgotten it. Again, a beautiful thing. (...)
Rating: Summary: The Magic of the Last Unicorn Review: I can still remember the first time I saw the Last Unicorn, years ago, at someone's house. Whenever I think of it, I remember a side view of the screen showing the Unicorns in the ocean and the Bull, with the music playing. As time passed, I forgot the name of the movie and what it was about except for the Bull and the Unicorn. That is, until I helped a friend clean her room and found an old copy of it. That feeling was like falling in love all over again. The Last Unicorn was the one thing that got me interested in fantasy, and I can guarantee that I will never, ever forget this movie.
