Summary: Disappointing, to say the least... only 1 ½ stars from me.
Review: I was looking forward to watching this movie, but as I watched it I was looking forward to the ending credits. I absolutely love all three seasons of Slayers, but this movie was a major disappointment. Where'd all the kickass characters go? They were replaced with a big-breasted alcoholic bimbo whose only redeeming value is her entertaining laugh. The storyline isn't all that interesting and with the two main characters being so much alike (crass personalities, similar if not exact magical skills), it's actually rather boring. And the dubbing is awful! Who gave that feminine-ish voice to Lina? It's SO NOT HER! Yuck! Thankfully the subtitled version is included, but still... when it comes to Slayers I'll stick to the series, thank you very much.

Summary: Plot, development, and laughs, with non-stop action!
Review: I'd have to say that this is probably my favotite movie, all time, period. Even if you've never seen The Slayers, you are quickly pulled into the world of Lina Inverse. The animation is wonderfull, the characters clever, the story classic, and the total experiance un-equalled

Summary: Okay.....
Review: I'm am a huge fan of the Slayers TV series. It's possibly one of the greatest comedy series of all time. So when I heard the movie was finally hitting American shores I did the first thing that hit me, buy the damn thing! "It's SLAYERS! " I said. "I MUST own it! " I screamed. Then I got it and....well...wasn't that impressed. I will admit, the animation is superb. But it really has nothing to do with the T.V. serise. I mean, when did Lina go off by herself? It had to be between Slayers and Slayers Next, but it isn't well explaned. True, there is an allusion to the TV series due to Randy and the Sword of Light, but nothing else. I would recommend this to those who aren't too familiar with the serise, because it's a great introduction to the Slayers tone. But to hardcore fans of the TV, be wary. You make like it, but then again...... P.S. Don't watch the dubbed, not only is Lina's voice kinda whiny, the actress who does Naga, copies the annoying laugh that the original actress uses, and doesn't do it too well.

Summary: No big deal.
Review: I'm happy to say that Slayers has well-rounded characters, good dubbing, and excellent animation. Not so happily I say that the plot itself is uninteresting and the fight scenes are cheap and predictable. Almost every battle begins and ends with a single spell being cast. The only interesting things were these: The three jelly-like creatures, Naga's lack of clothing, the dragon whose body was completely out of proportion with its head, the awesome closing theme, and the Spring of Growth. Slayers is a very popular series so it wouldn't be wise to go by just one opinion, but it didn't do much for me.

Summary: Great movie!
Review: I've heard good things about the Slayers series, so I picked up this DVD and The Book of Spells to see what they're all about. I'm happy to say that the series fully lives up to the hype and then some. It's really THAT entertaining.

Everything about this movie is top-notch. The artwork is great, and well animated. The sound is good, and the musical score in particular is outstanding. And, of course, it's FUNNY. The humor ranges from good old slapstick to jokes about Lina's bust size. (Which sounds crude, but it's pretty tame stuff, really.) The interaction between Lina and Naga is a constant source of laughs.

My only complaint about this movie is that it's too short for the amount of story it tries to tell. It would fit more comfortably in two hours, in my opinion. However, The Book of Spells is also like this, so perhaps it's just par for the course.

I really can't recommend this movie (and the Slayers series in general) highly enough. Now that I've seen this movie and The Book of Spells, I fully intend to snag the box sets ASAP.

Summary: A must have
Review: I've seen most of the Slayers series and this is proably the best. The video is very funny and has action. This is a must have for any anime fan.

Summary: a good movie for anyone
Review: if you are a fan of swords and sorcery, with an epic plot that will leave you speechless, and pondering the meaning of life itself, then you should look somewehre else.

but if you are a fantasy lover who lieks to laugh, this is the series for you. Lina Inverse and Nagha the white serpent head off to a mysterious isle, where time doesn't flow correctly. There they encounter a demon, named Joyrock. Their battles against him are truly awesome. To make the series even better it even has some time travel.

The only complaint: the end seemed a bit rushed. One minute they're talking to the old mage, Rowdy, the next their fighting Joyrock. It would have been nice if that part was expanded a bit more.

Summary: A must see for fans and newcomers to the slayers series
Review: If you like Slayers youl love this movie> It is set on a small island where a demonic beast is causing horror. This tape only includes Lina and Naga. It is sutabule for 7 year olds and up. PARENTS this tape hase commercials for other animes and these commercials are not suitabule for younge kids. Other than that there is a small amount of swearing but nothing else is bad exept the way Naga is dressed. Otherwise it is sutabule fore almost anyone.

Summary: Questions must be Answered...
Review: If you like the series so much, you should know when this movie took place. This movie is based on the manga of the Slayers. In relative term,it took place before Lina ever met Gourry and the others and Lina was one year younger. Anyway, this movie is okay. But I hope the other three movies(Slayers:Return,Great, and Gorgeous)are better. Those three aren't dubbed yet, but they're coming soon.
