Summary: Superb Anime...
Review: I fell in love with this anime in the first 2 minutes of the first episode. The beginning music is the kind of song that sticks in your head for weeks! This is my favorite series, bar none. Basically, it is about a British organization called Hellsing (named for the family that runs it). They are tasked to keep the undead population under wraps and under control. The story focuses on a vampire that is kept by the organization and his new apprentice.

THIS SERIES IS NOT FOR CHILDREN. Very disturbing imagery, but an amazing story. two thumbs up :)

Summary: Ann Rice fans look no further
Review: This series has the same dark & wonderful feel as an Ann Rice novel (*not* her porno stuff mind you, her vampire stuff), and is in many ways just as enthralling. As with Ann Rice, not necessarily for the faint of heart.

Summary: Where is the content?
Review: I can't believe how much of the series is actually on one DVD, once the opening sequences are removed from the DVD there isn't any of the show left. These Anime DVD's are way too expensive to get so little actual content. They should have only shown the opening sequence at the begining of the DVD and not each episode....then they could have squeezed 6 episodes on each release. As long as we keep buying them they'll keep making them like that and charging high prices. I loved Hellsing, but will buy not buy anymore of them. I give it one star because I feel as if the loyal fans suffer the most...

Hellsing will not stand the test of time like Vampire Hunter D, Akira, Ninja Scroll....it will be long forgotten in five years, maybe less. If you don't believe that then come back in five years and view where I've edited my review to include an I told you so.That is if you can break away from Dragon ball Z or Power Puff Girls long enough.

Summary: Good Anime Worth The Price
Review: If you can buy the entire series in one fell swoop, then I suggest that you do so. This is the most entertaining Anime series that I have purchased since the awe-inspiring Cowboy Beebop stories. Quality animation and a good storyline are well worth the price.

Summary: Very cool!
Review: Hellsing is what I look for in an anime!

The "hero" is a dark, menacing character, within a semi-normal world where the "Freak-Chip" is breeding low level undead. The main character (Alucard) works for the "Hellsing" order, that handles undead threats.
There is a wickedly awesome story within a lot of violence, and sometimes the humans are worse than the monsters. I'd suggest the entire series as it is addictive!

On a side note, "Alucard" has a tendency to go between looking like Alice Cooper to "Demon Eyes Kyo" (Samurai: Deeper Kyo series).

A very cool series. If ya liked this one, my first recommendation would have to be with whomever suggested "Vampire Hunter D", and "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlines" and I'd like to add:

Trigun (although a little more upbeat most of the time)it is awesome. Still, in my opinion, the series only got REALLY cool after Wolfwood showed up.

Neon Genesis Evangellion: A great series, I have friends who watch the entire series at least once a year as a marathon thing.

Serial Experiments: Lain (Don't pick up anything less than the whole series, and don't watch them out of order, or it won't make any sense!). If you liked "The Matrix" because it was thought-provoking, Lain will rock your world!

Samurai Deeper Kyo: Another dark hero series, where the main character is Demon Eyes Kyo: Killer of 1000 men. He's actually smiling while he literally rips his enemies to peices. Awesome series.

If you're new to anime, Hellsing is a great start, but realize it is VERY violent.

Summary: Probably the Best Vampire Series Out There
Review: What would you think if I told you the British government had been hiding the existance of vampires from the public for hundreds of years? And that they had a group of organizations dedicated to killing vampires and covering these actions up? Moreover, they are not the only group hiding the existance of vampires? This is the basis for the Hellsing series. There are two main characters, Integra Hellsing and Arucard, a vampire. Integra Hellsing is the leader of the Hellsing Family and the Hellsing Organization, one group whose soul goal is to eliminate vampires. Arucard is, you guessed it, a vampire. However, he works for the Hellsing Family to help them eliminate vampires.

What makes this series so great? First, the animation is excellent. Second, the music is as haunting and fitting as Cowboy Bebop. Third, there are many small conflicts and all involved in the larger plot of the series as a whole. One of these is with another fairly major character, Seras Victoria, and her own journey into the world of the vampire.

Anime lovers, you can't go wrong with this series.

Summary: Hunting with Hellsing 101
Review: When fighting the monstrosities that prey on the realms bordering normality with the Hellsing organization, please keep in mind a few things so that you can enjoy the experience in proper British fashion. Number one, never underestimate the prowess of a vampire and/or ghoul, no matter how it looks on the outside. This is evident in the ways that our newest recruit/undead member, Sera Victoria, handles herself with such surprise as she grow accustomed to her unlife, and in many of her observations about the youthful nature of a vampire or two she sees along the way. Number two, keep in mind that the only effective way to dispose of the undead is with a shot to the heat. Anything else simply will not do. Number three, sometimes humans actually construct beasts that are almost as powerful as the monsters you faces, although their current reasoning/base of operations is unknown. What we do know is that individuals have developed a chip that, when implanted, grants the user powers of the undead to a more limited degree. While this is a new nemesis, it still doesn't change the Hellsing organization's stand on the matter. Number Four, keep a monster of your own as a hunter, or as a backup in case your plan doesn't work. That way, you always have something that can match up with even the most powerful of threats. O, and welcome to the Hellsing organization.

The primary objectives of the organization is to protect Britain from the infiltration of the undead and any other monstrosity that happens to cross our path. To accomplish this, Hellsing and its glorious leader Sir Integra Van Hellsing employ a vast number of methods, including that of a vampire named Arucard and - later - another vampire named Seras Victoria. Arucard is perhaps the most readily available means of dispersing any type of threat, harboring the power of both the undead and the equally enjoyable world of icy banter at his fingertips. Still, our human forces are also well-equipped when dealing with threats to country and queen.

The mission objectives herein are as follows:
Chapter 1 sends our beloved Hellsing organization to Cheddar to deal with a vampire/priest that is rumored to be polluting the area with vast amounts of the undead. Normal forces have been sent in, but none have returned, and now a hunter has been dispatched to remedy the situation.

Chapter 2 introduces our newest recruit, Sera Victoria (introduced to the Hellsing organization in the first chapter), and the struggles that being a reluctant member of the undead can bring about. Here the organization is forced to deal with a traveling pack of killers that litter the countryside with corpses and that manage to elude the "proper authorities" because of their undead abilities.

Episode three begins the introduction of some interesting plot experiences, including the "vampire chip" and the Vatican and its hunter/killer that Arucard and our Protestant organization hold in contempt. Here, new enemies are born that will haunt the Hellsing organization, some members that are a little more than bit players die, and Seras gets an object lesson in the strength of others.

Summary: No Spoilers Simple Review
Review: -= No Spoilers =-

Hellsing has some great action, great cinematography, and very fluid animation. The translated subtitled English dialogue was done well and watching the first DVD made me want to watch the following episodes even more.

I have not finished watching the series but so far, it looks great.

Summary: I'm not a fan of anime but....
Review: I'm not a big anime fan but every so often I get talked into watching a series. This one is a good deal of fun. It's not half the head trip of Lain or Akira it's just a good fun series. The art work is nice. Unlike many American audiences I don't mind the use of still frames and there are a few. There's blood and sex and violence and one of the main characters smokes. If you've read Dracula anytime recently or are up on Catholic Protestant debate in England it's good for a giggle. Rumor has it that a season two is in the works hopefully to land on fan servers within the next year.
