Description:
The titular hero is a clean-cut young man with amnesia, an unidentifiable European accent, and a trio of loyal sidekicks: a gorgeous British blonde, a French computer genius in a wheelchair, and a sideburned Green Beret from the U.S.A. The first episode has the foursome rescuing two businessmen who have bought tickets on a commercial space shuttle, only to be hijacked by the evil Dr. X, a blue-ponytailed villain with visible internal organs and no scruples. In the second story, the villain and his Medusa-haired mutant assistant Gangrene challenge Action Man and his Team Extreme by stealing a stealth bomber, threatening to blow up Hollywood, and abducting the paralyzed Jacques. This mid-'90s offering from DIC offers classic good-versus-evil story lines with a supposed 21st-century twist. While neither of these 20-minute episodes is stunningly original, they offer decent action with a relatively low level of violence for ages 6 and up. --Kimberly Heinrichs
