Summary: about Sakura's review.....
Review: ...

Where the sub versions really out pace the dubs is in the storytelling. The episodes in their entirety, reveal a show based far more on character relationships than most American cartoon watchers are familiar with. Viewed in proper order the series demonstrates surperb continuity and a very natural(almost effortless)progression of linear story. My basic point here is...both versions of card captor sakura have their respective merits. Personally I would love a release which would combine the best aspects of both. I haven't decided which upcoming DVD I'll pick up. But I'm sure it'll be great fun either way. Thus, the 5 star review to balance the scale just a bit.

Review:

I looooooove the Cardcaptor Sakura movies, both of which I own fansubs of. They have all the elements of the series, plus more complex plots than you can fit into a half hour episode, which makes them all the more wonderful. In the first movie, Sakura wins a trip to Hong Kong, but when she arrives, there is an evil power which turns out to be a vengeful spirit out to take its revenge on Clow Reed! Can Sakura convince her that Clow Reef is truly dead before her loved ones are hurt? This is a sad, sweet movie that makes me cry no matter how many times I see it. The characters, are, as always, wonderful. Tomoyo is appropriately sweet, Kero is appropriately adorable, Syoaran is appropriately sweet-but-a-jerk, and Meilin is, of course, appropriately bitchy.

In the second movie, Sakura has captured and transformed all the cards. However, the cards steadily disappear-and with each one, something - or someone - disappears. Sakura has to find and deal with the cause of all this, but can she do it without the help of any of her friends or cards?

"So Sakura," you're probably wondering, "If the movies are so wonderful, why did you only give it one star?" One word, hon: mutilation. See how this is being billed as Cardcaptors the movie, not Cardcaptor Sakura the movie. The dub voices will be appropriately awful, the relationships will be appropriately nonexistant, the names will be appropriately changed, and the plot will be appropriately mutilated. Honestly, why do they insist on changing the plot around so much? It's not like it's inappropriate for little kids, unless you're a homophobe. And in that case: screw you. But I'm not here for social commentary. I'm here to tell you to either buy the fansubs (but watch out: the translation for the second movie is totally mangled. Example: "Why should I?" "Because you perturb hit Sakura." Not kidding. That was what the subtitles said.) or wait until the unedited, subbed movie is commercially released in the U.S.

Summary: Sakura's new adventure
Review: Another cardcaptor adventure for Sakura, except this time it isn't about capturing the Clow Cards. There is a bigger threat, the wife of Clow Reed named Su Yung, has summoned Sakura to Hong Kong.

Su Yung thought that Sakura was Clow Reed because she sensed her magic power, and that she had the Clow Cards. Clow Reed had banned her in another dimension becasue she had used the magic Clow Reed had taught for evil. She has been waiting all these years for him to set her free, but she doesn't relized he is dead, and that she herself, is also dead. And she wont leave Sakura alone until she gets what she wants.

Sakura must find out what to do on her own, but with the help of her friends too. If you like Cardcaptors you should definatly get this DVD, it's has a really good plot, and the animation is top-rank.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS
Review: As a warning I have written this review. Do Not buy this copy if you are a collector. There are presently two versions of this movie available, and this is not the good one. Mind you it does have the "Special" No Nagi Song on it, but Does Not come with the ORIGINAL Japanses Dialouge. If you are a collector Like I am, you'll want the one titles CardCaptor Sakura Movie, Not CardCaptors The Movie. If it is for a child who like the series, it wouldn't really matter. Now as far as I know the reason for this is because there is both a Canadian Version and a US version, this being the US verison (which by the way happens to edit A LOT of the Story line). If you'd like the real version do go for the Canadian release "Cardcaptor Sakura". And if you are planning on Collecting the series, also be careful which one you do buy, because the US release does chop it up quite a bit-even leaving a few episodes out! I really hope this will help a few people out there. Have a great day and thanks for reading ^_^

Summary: here we go again..-.-
Review: Before you go and judge Cardcaptors, see the original japanese series, Cardcaptor Sakura. It's cuter, more understandable, and just plain better.

Don't waste your money on the dub.

Summary: Cardcaptors
Review: Cardcaptors is a great film for those of you who haven't seen it yet! I'd recommend the movie to any of thoses who have seen the the T.V. series. For those who haven't however might get a bit confused since you practically won't get what's going on like who the characters are for example. But besides that dubbing was by far okay to start with. Music was great! Images were exellent and well drawn. The extras are a bit on the awkward side with the music video by froggy and all. It's not the greatest music video but it's completey strange. But overall it was a pretty good movie.

Summary: Cardcaptors: The Movie
Review: I bought the CC movie a little while back on VHS. The movie was pretty good, for the most part. I loved the animation and it was kind of neat to see Sakura doing something other than capture the cards. It was new and it was neat. I should also mention I saw this when I was a dubbie and had never seen Japanese Cardcaptors. The original version (aka Cardcaptor Sakura) is so much better. I don't have a problem with the cuts and changes Nelvana made to this movie (or cuts and changes to the series), but the only thing that made me hate the English dubbed version was the terrible voices. Madison's English Voice just makes me want to throw up. It's just so awful. The Japanese voices are much more cuter sounding and suit their character's better. The only thing I liked in the English version better than the original is the coupon for a free apple turnover you got when you bought it on VHS. Just buy the CCS version. It comes with both the English edited dub version and the uncut original Japanese version, along with the cool Japanese Theaterical trailers which are way cooler than the English trailer and that stupid music video that you get in the CC version. Forget Madison's idiotic valleygirl talk! "See" the original version of this movie, and experience it as it was meant to be experienced!
