Summary: Over-the-top and yet, sometimes mature...
Review: The inventor, Kyusaku Natsume, is escaping from his wife, the ruthless Lady Akiko Mishima, with both their son and the NK-1124 android. During their escape, while they are being chased by the Lady's elite team of Office Ladies, armed with the best from the military products division of her company, a cat is killed.
Next thing you know, Kyusaku and son and new DAUGHTER (the android with the cat's brain inside) are living together, trying to have a normal life. That is, until Lady Akiko Mishima and her female warriors find them again!
While funny, sometimes down right silly, there are sometimes very mature, even beautiful, moments between the members of this wacko family. The relationships between father and son, father and wife, and even the relationship between the family and Nuku-Nuku become part of the story, sometimes in the background and sometimes in the foreground.
The six episodes, with the very modern looking menus and the extras, make it worth buying IF you can get it for a low-low price (as in used).

Summary: Nuku Nuku is never boring
Review: The third and unfortunately final volume is this OAV series continues the adventures of Nuku Nuku. Nuku Nuku looks like a regular high school girl, but she is really and android with the brain of a cat. The conflict in this story deals with a custody battle between a mother(mama san) and a father(papa san). In the fifth episode Nuku Nuku wrecks her bicycle and gets a job at a restaurant to get enough money to buy a new one. Thanks to Nuku Nuku the restaurant becomes number 1. The restaurant is owned by mama san and even though she tells them not to interfere her "secretaries" go to the restaurant to try and cause trouble for Nuku Nuku. In the sixth and final episode mama sans company Misihma heavy industries create a super satillite with a lazer on it that can hit anything. When mama san becomes the target everyone joins forces to try and save her. Even Nuku Nuku and rival android Eimi team up to go into space, but what is Eimi's true motivation? This is my favorite anime series and is a great comedy anime.

Summary: Great fun!
Review: This anime is one of my favorites! So what does happen when you put the mind of a kitten into the body of a mechanoid? Well, you get one heck of a sister, not to mention a great bodyguard. Well, the whole story is basically one explosion of a custody battle. Nuku Nuku faces amazing odds as she finds herself mixed up in the whole situation. So what does she do? What else would a cat do? Land on your feet and go in for another game of cat&mouse! I give this anime 4 stars because of the wonderful humor and story line. Some audiences may find some *very* short scenes to be more adult humor (a few of my friends objected heavily to a certain "scratching" scene, although I don't see what the complaint is). Anyway, I highly recommend it! A+

Summary: Cat owners will want custody of this one
Review: This is volume 1 of 3.

In essence, this is a child custody battle story marketed as a cute cat girl story. The blending of the two make it quite exceptional:

Papa-san and Mama-san split up. Papa-san runs away with his son taking with his android prototype project. In the resulting shoot-out, their recently adopted stray cat gets killed. Papa-san modifies the android, and the result is an older sister for his son; All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku.

The rest of the story is how Nuku Nuku adapts to her new surroundings (pretending to be human) while deep down she is really a cat, at least at first... Providing situations is Mama-san, a powerful business exec scheming to steal back her son and the android unit.

Lots of laughs, cat humor, destroyed buildings, but the under-lying relationships make this comedy anime plus. Most people should enjoy this one. Virtually all cat lovers will!

Summary: This rocks !!
Review: This is volume 2/3.

The husband-wife battle over the technology that is Nuku Nuku heats up, just as Nuku Nuku starts to learn what it means to be human. Ironic twist in this custody battle over "property." Instead of joining in the battle, Nuku Nuku tries to patch things up. Will this win her the respect of her "Mother"?

Adding to the mix is a new android for a rival, Eimi. Very cute android, but not nice like Nuku Nuku. The two have interesting "competitions" until a major threat to a family member becomes more of a challege in and of itself. This volume is a bit like Project A-ko, where A-ko and B-ko battle all of the time.

Lots of fun in this volume. A true anime classic.

Summary: volume three is the best of the three
Review: This is volume 3/3.

Nuku Nuku matures into the ideal older sister in this one. It's very touching how she takes care of her brother. She's gone beyond her father's wildest dreams of a companion for his son.

The highlight of this entire series is when Nuku Nuku works as a waitress. She's cute and sweet, so she becomes something of a restaurant idol star. Unfortunately, those out to capture her turn the restaurant into a battle zone. All I'll say is that there's a hilarious catnip scene, You'll want to see it unspoiled.

This is an ideal tape to watch if you're feeling sad and depressed. Such is the charm of Nuku Nuku, you will cheer up right away!

Summary: Nuku Nuku's Adventures Continue
Review: This tape continues the adventures of Nuku Nuku who looks like a normal 17 year old high school girl, but is really an android with the brain of a cat. The story deals with a custody battle between a mother(mama san) and a father(papa san) over their son. The mother is the president of Mishima Heavy Industries which is an electronics company that basically makes everything you could imagine. The father left because he did not want his technology used for war. In the third episode Nuku Nuku tries to get mama san and papa san to live together again and in the fourth episode Nuku Nuku meets another android who wants to take over Nuku Nuku's body. This is my favorite anime series and one of the best comedy anime ever.

Summary: classic anime
Review: This was a great anime. Hilarious but touching as well. A great example of anime, especially anime comedies. If you like to laugh and don't mind some WAFF's(Warm And Fuzzy Feelings)thrown in, then this is a must see.
