Summary: Great End to an Era
Review: THE DARIA ERA
MARCH 1997-JANUARY 2002

This movie is great.
Daria's senior year of High School is nearing its end so theres only one thing to think about.....COLLEGE.
Daria is struggling over the fact that she doesnt get into the same college as her boyfriend Tom, and has to question where there relationship is going. At the same time Jane gets rejected by 2 colleges and questions whether she should go to college at all. Quinn has her own problems she's forced to get a Job to pay off a $600 shoe charge she meets this college girl and wonders if she has a drinking problem. There more plots but you would have to watch the movie to find out what they are.
This is the 66 Minute commerical edit instead of the 75 minute original airing, but the story still holds together. I've seen the 75 minute version on NOGGIN/THE-N but it is edited for content like at the begining when they put a black square over trents butt when it shows him streaking and they take out stuff like "Screw You".

Summary: Typical Daria
Review: This Daria DVD is defiantely one that I would choose to watch again and again, though I do have a couple complaints. For one, that there were only two bonus episodes, which was a disappointment to the Daria starved person that I am. Daria hasn't been shown on TV in ages where I am, though I know reruns are still be shown in California (I heard this via my uncle), so I was really hoping for some more episodes.
However, this DVD did have all the typical Daria sarcasm and cyancism that I was hoping it would. You see a new side of Daria in "boxing Daria", one of the bonus episodes, and it was really nice to see her having some different emotions that come when she realizes things she made happen without meaning to. Tom is definatly a great charecter throughout the whole DVD, a person I would definately date if he were real. This did have less of Trent than I would have liked, but the few appearences he does make are humorous in the usual Trent-style fashion.
This DVD actually deserves four and a half stars, but since I couldn't do that, four is what the rating shows. The only reason for the half star being taken off is the lack of extra episodes. If you're a Daria fan, this is the DVD for you. But if you can only get one Daria DVD, I suggest the "Is it fall yet?" DVD over this one.

Summary: The good and the bad
Review: This movie is really quite an entertaining piece of 'Daria'-dom and a good series ender (which I must admit has gotten better over time). The menus and design of the DVD are also quite good and superior to the previous Daria release 'Is It Fall Yet?' It's also nice that the extra episodes were included. So what could be wrong? Could it be the fact that this version of the movie is the edited-for-commercials version? Eight minutes of this film were only seen at the movie's premiere, and presumably will never be seen again, short of the people who taped the premiere. What sense was there to not include the unedited version? The movie still is coherent without the eight minutes, but there are some funny one liners missing and some depth (and other times, padding) missing from certain scenes. I wasn't initially going to buy this, but after viewing a friend's and seeing the care that went into simple things like menus and a good transfer of the episodes, I just may. I'll just stick to my VHS recording of the FULL version when watching the actual movie (and there's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't have been included on this DVD). Still, for those who don't own any copy at all of the movie, or who have never seen it, I recommend you check this out, as the movie's still good, but not as good as it could be in this form. (My only other beef was with the removal of the 'Sick, Sad World' theme from the episodes. What was that?) MOVIE: 5 DVD PRESENTATION: 5 FACT THAT THEY INCLUDED THE EDITED VERSION: 2

Summary: Great
Review: This was a very good movie. It was a little upsetting that it was Daria's last episode. Being a very big Daria fan, I will miss the show. Hopefully even more DVD's will be released.

This was a very good story about Daria, Jane, etc. finishing high school and getting ready for college.

You should definately get this DVD. Any Daria fan would love it. Epecially if you never saw it. Even if you did, buy it and watch it over and over again.

:)

Review: Well... as a Daria fan, there's nothing I can say bad about this. Although I would have appreciated the inclusion of the songs played during the episodes when this aired on MTV, I can understand the complications involved with including them on the DVD, so I'm not complaining. This may not be the best place to start if you're new to Daria. You may want to start with the book "The Daria Diaries." But if you're a fan, and feel as if this show was made just for you only, then you'll treasure this. I sure do.
