But when a true story recount as a professor who has only his job in his life to survive while he is embarked in a bad almost murder to himself, and when after that, he is bound to appropriate the bad instinct of the bads gangsters for make to them the same thing who has lived some years ago, he take his courage and go heretofore at the extremity of the human gender, with no limits ! This is a true MOVIE with a forceful man as SAMUEL L. JACKSON SPLENDID WHEN THE YOUNG MAN CHICANOS HAS HIS FINGER CUT !!!

Summary: Fantastic
Review: The main objective of this movie is to show the importance of teaching students, no matter what it takes. Mr. Jackson is a die-hard teacher, having been stabbed several times by a student in his class that he failed. Still, he did not give up. He went on to substitute in one of the toughest schools in L.A. He stuck it out to the end. However, his character should have gone on at least until the end of school. Review: The movie "187" was the best movie I've ever seen. I love it. I watch it all the time. The whole subject of the movie is really good because the movie actually was based on a true story, which is good and can teach people that stuff like that is really happening and makee everyone aware of the violence and the drug use in the world. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE JOHAN ROONEY(Stevie Littleton)IN MORE MOVIES BECAUSE HE IS SO FINE AND I LOVE WATCHING HIM ACT,HE'S VERY FUNNY!!!!!! Rent 187 I am sure you will like it and find it very exciting and a great movie.

Summary: Kids gone wild ?
Review: This film is a gritty innner city look at a teacher pushed over the edge,by street punks and a system that does not care. Very chilling scene at the end makes your jaw drop. The flaw being that I really dont believe that kids could be that hard, or tough. Maybe I'm just niave though. Some of the kids looked like they were thirty years old instead of 17 or 18 too. But definately a movie that grabs you right in gut.

Summary: A Great Movie About (And For) Students!
Review: This film shows that teachers can have two jobs: 1) As teachers, but gererally only to the kids who want to learn. 2) As social workers/therapists, but generally only to the kids who do NOT want to learn. I think it's fair to say that most kids who do NOT want to learn could use an attitude adjustment. As the film illustrates, helping some students adjust their attitudes (i.e., grow emotionally) can be an enormous challenge. And a background in clinical psychology/social work would certainly better prepare a teacher for this challenge! I encourage students who are NOT interested in school to watch this film because: 1) IF they identify with the student characters in the film, THEN they may grow vicariously along with them. 2) They may see the point of view of their teachers for the first time. Specifically, that teachers (and by extension, anyone) can honestly care about them, regardless of their repeatedly disrespectful behavior. As the movie illustrates so well, SED (severely emotionally disturbed) kids may NOT be able to believe that anyone, including a teacher, cares about them. Thus, kids with similar trust issues who watch this movie, may appreciate and become more respectful of their teachers IF they start believing that their teachers really care about them. 3) They may begin to appreciate/respect their teachers more once they realize how challenging a teacher's job can be. 4) Finally, it helps to have a popular star like Samuel Jackson glorifying the image of the teacher. In conclusion, recently I have began substitute teaching at a middle school in Mountain View, CA. Generally, I spend most of my class time with those students who are the least interested in learning. I commend the makers of this important film for teachers AND STUDENTS!

Review: This film was written by a real life teacher and shows what rough schools can be like. Jackson (a brilliant actor anyway) delivers his performance as a teacher on the edge, superbly. The film was suspenseful and often gripping. It's scary to think that a school could resemble this.

Review: this is a great movie has some pretty cool gansters in it and sh*t(i had to use the asterisk and dont be a b*tch and say its gangstas not gangsters) but why did it take place in the valley??????? i mean theres no way that could be the worst school in america. not even the worst school west of L.A. they should have made it in city terrace or echo park or boyle heights but the valley???? i just dont get it. ive visited the valley and its disney land compared to city terrace or boyle heights or echo park. great movie though
