Rating: Summary: Good acting, interesting premise! Review: He Got Game was well directed by Spike Lee, and well acting also. Allen does a superb cross-over, and Washington shines as usual. A surprise performance would definately be that of Dakota, played by the absolutly GORGEOUS, and ENTICING Milla Jovovich. She's acts well, and displays some of her many talents, and I'm not talking about faking it.
Rating: Summary: i felt this was a great story of a b-ball star maturing Review: this movie was a well made production of a boy who worked hard all his life and now is finally being rewarded but with fame comes hate and forgiveness
Rating: Summary: An Intelligent Movie about Black father/son relationships! Review: Some people seem to think the movie should have been less serious. My question to them is, why?? The movie was intended to be about the relationship between a father and son. Basketball was the back-drop. A realistic portrayal of the behind the scenes sleeze that takes place in the world of Black athletes. Great movie...a classic.
Rating: Summary: Spike Lee's Best Review: This is a brilliant movie. Spike Lee is a true artist when he wants to be, and He Got Game shows that. If you love this movie, I highly reccomend reading Darcy Frey's book The Last Shot, which details Coney Island basketball. He Got Game borrows a lot from that book. One gripe with this movie- do not watch it with a meathead. Some people will say that this movie "sucks" or whatever because it doesn't have enough basketball. Don't listen to those people. He Got Game is an out and out classic movie.
Rating: Summary: He got game is a great movie. Review: But there's not enough actions. I thought it was supposed to be a basketball movie, but it's more a drama. But it's a good movie.
Rating: Summary: This Movie is great, but the content. Review: Spike Lee did a great job with the cast. The content was not good for children. Ray Allen did a great job of acting. If you didn't see it,do.
Rating: Summary: a dramatic version of "Hoop Dreams" Review: Basically, this is "Hoop Dreams" in dramatic form as it explores how black young athletically gifted are exploited by everyone who can possibly make money off the deal. I actually though the actor that played Jesus did a good job. His girlfriend was unforgettable. Some criticisms: It seems that of late Denzel Washington has had to play opposite a lot of white females. What gives? As usual, Spike Lee depicts the seamy side of life very graphically. Actually, there aren't that many directors or screenwriters, black and white, that dare to push the envelope as far as he does. When will Lee ever depict a true love story? His male/female leads tend to use one another on some level. However, one of Spike Lee's strengths is that he always leaves his endings ambiguous. They are never what you expect.
Rating: Summary: A must see film Review: He Got Game is defiantely one of the best films of all-time. This movie will jump-start the carrer of b-ball phenom Ray Allen as an actor. It is a great story with lessons that can be useful in life. It teaches that people can eliminate hate from their heart no matter the crime. Also, the Buffy/Suzi scene is VERY hot!!! Check it out. This is definately my favorite movie.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Film Review: I love this movie. Definately one of my all-time favorites. If it isn't then the only thing that comes close is Glory. Also with Denzel Washington. I love the way the story is told about an upcoming basketball star who gets caught up in lots of trouble. It is an all-star movie. Check it out! And if you don't have a stomach for graphic sex, violence, drug abuse, and harsh language, please check out Glory. It is an excellent movie about a black regiment in the Civil War. Possibly my favorite movie.
Rating: Summary: Good basketball movie Review: Spike Lee really shows his love for basketball in this movie. I think they could have gotten a better actor to play "Jesus Shuttleworth". I would have liked more comedy in this movie to depict the fun side of basketball not just the seriousness of the game.
