Rating: Summary: Jesus really became a god on the court Review: The movie was really good. It had a lot of meaning to it. I wasn't just a movie that was just about basketball it was about how a young man named Jesus lived with out his mother and his father. Jesus was a senior and took care of his little sister, payed his bills, studied basketball, and kept his social life. When Jesus was small his father took him out on the court and made Jesus play ball all night, intill Jesus played good enough .One day Jesus got made and left the court as his dad was really getting frustrated with him. That night his father killed their mother on a accendent. His father was put to prison. Jesus never forgave him for that. One day as his father Got out of prison for a week but he had to make a promise with the government. It was "You get your son to go to State College and you will have a early release". Therefore when they let him out he tried he also tried to get his son to talk to him, but Jesus didn't want to listen. The day before he had to go his father made him a deal "If you bet me this game then you can pick any college you want, but if you lose then you have to go to State College" unfortuntely his dad lost, but he still went to State College. This movie was really good. I wouldn't mind watching this movie again. Not only was this movie good but it was also the real deal. It showed how life really is, therefore I gave this movie a 5 star.
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest B-ball movies ever! Review: Great movie with great acting by Denzel Washington & Ray Allen
Rating: Summary: WOW ! Review: He Got Game is a movie which really seemed like another "White men can't jump" b-ball flic but it's anything but. Spike has really done well with this and the directing is quite superb. If you like basketball then you MUST SEE THIS! Even if you aren't a b-ball fan, you will still be moved by this flic. Acting by Denzel Washington and Ray Allen (actual NBA player) were both great.Unfortunately this one isn't for the kids as there is a bit of sex and language shown. This is actually based on the NBA superstar Stephon Marbury and how he made it all the way. GO AND SEE IT!
Rating: Summary: Good but get rid of the nudity Review: I thought this movie was great but I only gave it three stars because it was too long (many scenes weren't necessary) and there was too much sex (it would have been a good movie for kids to watch if not for the sex scenes). I wish Spike Lee would stop making all of his movies into softcore porns. It's totally needless. He did the same thing with Summer of Sam and I don't see what the point of it was.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie Review: I loved this movie. The characters, especially Washington, gave a great performance about life in the projects. I'd recommend this movie to anyone.
Rating: Summary: The Music is from Brooklyn, too!!! Review: He Got Game touched me on many levels. Other reviewers have eloquently pointed to the powerful subplots within the film. But it was the music that drove me nuts. I loved it! Lee's use of Aaron Copeland musical fanfares and themes was brilliant. Especially since Copeland is considered one of the best American composers of the 20th century. And, oh yeah__he was born and raised in Brooklyn!!! My hat is off to Spike Lee for sharing his passion and love for the place he knows as home. Spike Lee is Brooklyn through and through, forever and ever. Amen.
Rating: Summary: this was a cool movie Review: this was a good movie but the nudity and swearing was unnescesar
Rating: Summary: it's the bomb! Review: ray allen is the man and he's so cute he good at doing every thing he need to do some more movies and their should be a part two to this movie.
Rating: Summary: from san diego Review: I loved the movie overall but felt that the scences with denzel and the prostitute were completly unneccesary and brought down the movie.
Rating: Summary: An insult to all women Review: This movie was terrible. There are no strong women characters (I am a white male). Every female character is either playing the lead character for their own use (money) or they are selling their bodies to him. It is an insult to all women and to African-American women especially. If a Caucasian man had made this movie, he would be called racist and sexist, why is okay for an African-American to make it?
