Review: One of the best African-American Romantic movies. Nia Long and Lorenz Tate's chemistry is magical in the movie. Their friends act exactly how you would expect your friends to act in any similar situation when two people meet and have a brief romance and through the trials and tribulations of a relationship, they give up. But there's always that spark that never dies. Enjoy every minute of this romance flick. Don't sleep on the soundtrack, it's hot!

Review: This is a superb movie I enjoyed it and still watch it all of the time this is a good movie featuring some great actors and actresses : Lisa Nicole Carson, Nia Long, Larenz Tate, Bill Bellamy, and many good others. This is a movie about Nia Long and Larenz Tate falling in love having to break up all over again this is a good movie I love it is so sweet and wonderful if you like love stories then I would definitely recommend that you buy thismove!!!!!

Review: I believe love jones' main commodity is it's lack of emphasis on stereotypical black roles. Instead, the characterization wholly reflected traditional American issues like love and aspirations: acheiving the American dream. For example, Tate, Darius, played a writer in contrast to his former roles as both murderer and criminal in the films dead presidents and menace to society. I found his character refreshing and inriguing. Also, this film was creative in the sense that it didn't hoist its characters on unusually high planes of occupation, as is the trend in black films contemporarily; Love Jones offered a realistic setting with truly realistic characters, not just an attempt to abandon or draw sympathy to a certain cultural scope. Darius (Lorenz Tate) was a struggling writer of obvious talent as showcased at the beginning of the film with his poem "a blues for Nina" to Nina. Nina, too, was an artist trying to make it. The friends of these two were on the average scale in society but yet had distinct character roles making them interesting along with the plot.I mostly enjoyed the film because one: darius and nina were a lot of fun, Two: it offered an all black cast without all the mundane black stereotypes and finally because darius is an aspiring writer and so am I.

Review: WHAT CAN I SAY? THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE SO I GUESS MY REVIEW IS BIASED. THIS WAS VERY REFRESHING AFTER SO MANY MOVIES STEREOTYPICAL MOVIES STARRING AFRICAN AMERICANS. YOU SEE PEOPLE ALL LOVE IN THE SAME LANGUAGE, AND IN THIS CASE LANGUAGE WAS USED TO INVITE LOVE, TO MAKE LOVE, TO BETRAY LOVE AND TO CRY OUT FOR LOVE. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE, YOU NEED TO BUY IT. THIS IS A COLLECTOR, FOR THOSE WHO STILL BELIEVE IN LOVE CONQUERING ALL.

Review: This movie was awesome! Nia Long and Lorenz Tate were totally captivating on screen. Does anyone out there know who was the band that played at the bar they went to after they left Savon's house? I love that song! The song is not on the soundtrack. It also played a major part in getting things heated up when they made love for the first time that night. This movie was very refreshing to see. I'm tired of the norm. So, in closing I would love to see Nia and Lorenz in another love story it was excellent!!

Summary: Truly Refreshing
Review: This movie was spectular. It is by far the best love story. The characters are enigmas that you spend the entire evening trying to solve. The ambiance in each scene made you feel as though you were there, sipping wine and laughing with friends. The positive depiction of upwardly mobile African Americans offered a refreshing look into the often complicated aspects of finding love and recognizing it when you do, on any level. As any good movie, it will have you smiling, frustrated and talking at the screen. Definitely entertaining!!

Review: This is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, it was not promoted the way that it should have been because not enough people know about it. This is truly a classic movie that reminds of the first time that I really felt a deep love for someone. I am older (although not significantly) than Larenz Tate, but I thought that he gave a stellar performance and was extremely sexy in this movie. Nia Long's performance was also great. They had great chemistry together. The supporting cast was very good and it showed that we, as Black people, can have many layers. I watched this movie the other night - it is timeless.
