Summary: BEST CIVIL WAR MOVIE EVER!
Review: THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT. BRODERICK, FREEMAN AND WASHINGTON WERE AWESOME IN THEIR ROLES. IT SHOWS HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO HAVE THE RIGHT LEADERS, AND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MEN TAKE THINGS LIGHTLY. THOSE THAT DID'NT HAVE THEIR GLORY. IT WAS GREAT TO SEE HOW ALL MEN, EVEN WASHINGTON, CAN GROW TO LIVE WITH OTHERS, DESPITE THEIR IGNORANCE AND BITTERNESS. DESPITE ALL THAT, IT WAS A WELL MADE, WELL WRITTEN EXPERIENCE.

Summary: One of the Greatest War Movies Ever
Review: This movie is one of the greatest war movie ever and may vary well be the greatest. Every actor plays his part to the best of his ability. The movie has everything you could ever want. The music is supurb, and every note played in the movie is buetiful. This movie should be shown in ever history class around the country for its authenticity. I could go on for hours saying good stuff about this movie, but I wont because that would take way to long. If you havent seen this movie buy it today. It is worth every penny.

Summary: Exceptional Performance
Review: One of the best historical war movies ever made. The acting was great. I found myself getting inside many of the characters and seeing how they thought and what they felt like. This movie is a must see not only for the history buff but for anyone interested in a captivating, emotionally moving, issue oriented, action packed movie. What makes it even better is the fact that it is based on actual historical events. Great movie!

Summary: A film not only about the war, but the men fighting it
Review: We watched this movie for school, it was an edited version, and I later rented the full on one. Though there's not much difference between the two except cutting out a rather grisly scene, you still get the whole idea. This film is definately one to see, even if you're not a fan of war movies. The story of the African-American 54th regiment is extrememely well written, acted, and well you get the idea. Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, and Cary Elwes give stunning performances as either leaders of the regiment or the regiment. I must say that I was on end throughout the whole movie. There I was sitting in the classroom and I looked up and realized I was the only one crying. Embarrassing? Yes. But you can't help but get involved in a story like this! These men put others lives before theirs for the honor of their country! This movie was brilliant, moving, and rather accurate as far I can tell. A must see, especially if you're a history fan!

Summary: Glory-the 54th regiment
Review: This movie was the best movie i had EVER seen,it is more touching than any other drama out there and more exciting than any action film ever.I was only About four or five when this movie came out, and that is proof that all ages would love it. Mathew Broderick plays the important part of General Shaw and he is captivating.I kept thinking "you were SUPPOSED to meet Thomas at the FORT! "And he makes you believe that you are actuall living in the time of the civil war. Oh, and the goatee he has makes him look so cute!

Summary: A Classic That Glorifies The Men And Not The War
Review: What can I say about "Glory" that hasn't been said before? "Glory" is the emotional, exhilarating story of the 54th Massachussets regiment during the Civil War. It gallantly shows that the Americans of African descent that fought in that regiment or as it would be any other regiment were indeed worthy to fight for their freedom.(And for human decency and sanity! ) It showed just how asinine an idea of slavery really was. The comradery displayed by the actors who played the few soldiers focused on in the regiment really added to the impact of the story. The tension between this band of brave souls was released at precisely the right moments and enhanced by the tear jerking score by James Horner. The horrors of war that these men would face would bring them closer together. It is understood why "war buddies" sometimes stay friends forever or if lost are never forgotten. For me the outstanding way the battle scenes looked and sounded was definitely worthy of praise but the acting by Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Matthew Broderick, and everyone in the cast is what makes this such a great film. It was a great team effort. Nobody really stood out as having a poor performance. Nobody seemed disinterested in their work. Sure, it could be said that "Glory" is way over the top and manipulated to make you feel empathy for the soldiers. Isn't that the whole point? Isn't war itself a bit extreme?

Summary: Glory
Review: Truly a spectacular movie. It captures the honor, loyalty, and pride of a Regiment of black americans lead by Robert Gould Shaw (Matthew Broderick) At first Robert does not like the idea of leading them but decides to. When he first sees the men,he does not know what to think, but later on he becomes loyal to his Regiment and respects them. The last battle scene with the beautiful music of a choir, truly brings tears to your eyes. "If i should fall....remember what you see here." Robert says to a reporter before he gets off his horse and goes to his men. It has splendid acting from Matthew Broderick,Denzel Washington,Cary Elwes,Andre Braugher and many more. This film really shows what the Civil War probably was like in the eyes of Colonel Robert Gould Shaw. "Huzza,Huzza." The men cheer as their Colonel leads his way to the front of the Regiment. The music itself makes you want to cry as you see the fear yet loyalty in the eyes of the Regiment. Truly catching when Thomas (Andre Braugher) about falls and Trip (Denzel Whasington) helps him back into line..showing he actually does appreciate him although not showing it through out the movie. A real tear jerker when Cabot Forbes (Cary Elwes) yells out "Robert!" after Shaw gets shot. But,the end is truly stunning yet the real tear jerker, when the gravediggers put Robert's dead body in the sand with his Regiment and Trip is put next to him. Great and sad War film. Recommended!

Review: this movie was both moving and breathtaking in the way that it portrayed and showed the hardships that the 54th Regiment, had to deal with. The story is about Colonol Robert Gould Shaw's live and his attack on Fort Wagner, the man gave his life to take Fort Wagner, but in the end there we no winners or loosers in this battle. The movie was sad and showed how cruel the war was to these real people....Matthew Broderick plays Colonol Shaw, assisted by outstanding supporting actors such as, Cary Elwes and Densel Washington....a must see for any history lover....

Summary: Wow!
Review: This movie was very sad! I didn't watch the whole thing, but I watched enough to know that war is not a very good thing. Hey, but I wouldn't think about that. The movie was so absorbing. Though, the last time I watched it was about 3-5 years ago. I still remember the ending. Well, after that, I became sooooo obsessed with the Civil War. I suggest this movie to those poepole whom like to watch movies that have a lot of action. Though, this movie WAS gruesome it gave a very sharp point about our American history. You learn a lot about history through this movie in my opinion.
