Summary: The magic is gone
Review: The action wasn't as good as in the first movie. I couldn't bring myself to care about any of the characters. You could see the plot twists a mile away.

Take Scud, for instance. They didn't develop the background of his character at all; when he betrayed Blade the reaction was "big deal". At the very least they could've had Blade rescue him at the beginning of the movie.

Or Whistler. Let's ignore all the wasted potential in his rescue sequence and the inner demons he surely would've had to fight after the way the vampires treated him. Just fast forward to the end of the movie, where he's up against a vampire twice his size, who's trained for several years in martial arts to take out Blade, with superhuman strength, endurance, and recuperative abilities. Mister Gimpy Leg kicks the tar out of him. Uh...

The action was heavier on gore this time around, lots more wire-fu (which I dislike) and overall, not very believable. The baddies, the Reapers were all interchangable characters - did anyone notice how when the vampire with tattoos all over his face got converted, the tattoos vanished? - the baddest bad guy of them all was a complete nonentity. I was waiting impatiently for Blade to finish him off so I could get out of there.

The first movie was a very good comic book adaptation. Blade II is a B movie riding on the coattails of a good film.

Summary: Better Than the First!
Review: I'm a HUGE Comic-Book fan, and I have to say that Blade II is one of the few Comic-Based Movies that actually manages to capture the FEEL of a Comic. (I'm not saying that the way most film critics say "The movie was like a Comic Book... Blade II starts with Blade, our Half-Human/Half-Vampire hero, in Prague, searching for his sidekick Whistler, last seen killing himself, rather than become a Bloodsucker. Whistler was abducted by the Vamps, and has been floating in a jar of Blood for 2 years, periodically being taken out for torture sessions. Blade mounts a rescue, cures Whistler of Vampirism, and they're back in business.....

But....the Vampires want a truce with Blade; they need his help against The Reapers, a new breed of Vampire that are virtually unkillable, and who prey on other Vampires, transforming THEM into reapers. What'll happen when they're out of Vampires to victimize? We're next......

The Reapers are a NASTY bunch; quite a step up on the evolutionary ladder, and Blade would have his hands full, even without his Vamp "Allies" treacherous behavior. Let the battle begin.....

Director Guillermo Del Toro is quickly becoming one of my favorite Horror Movie Directors. As in Mimic and Chronos, he takes a well-worn genre, and gives it a fresh new twist. The effects are wild and inventive, and the gore factor is cranked up to 11. There were a lot of "EEWWWW"'s from the audience. The fight scenes are exceptionally well-done; very reminiscent of a well done Hong Kong action flick, like Iron Monkey. The "BloodPack", Blade's Vampiric Allies, are quite a bunch, and it was fun to see Del Toro regular Ron Perlman... Blade II is not exactly Citizen Kane, but it IS an amazingly well-executed Horror/Action flick, and if Del Toro is at the helm again, I will absolutely be in line for Blade III. (Hey Guillermo- ...

Summary: 2 great hours of non-stop vampire violence
Review: Anyone that found the first Blade film slightly unfulfilling will be blown away by this no-holds-barred action film, which is crammed with breathtaking action scenes and unforgettable visuals. The script works fine for what the film sets out to accomplish: violence, violence, and more violence. Del Toro manages to add suprisingly artistic directing to this formulaic action film. He extends action sequences for a great effect, such as in John Woo films, and he keeps his style up-close, dirty and dark. You can tell at times Del Toro is drawing influences from Hong Kong kung fu and heroic bloodshed films to Japanese vampire animes. Basically, the film runs like a two hour bloody extension of the lobby scene of The Matrix, with really cool vampires and creatures. Now if that sounds good to you, see this film.

Summary: Blade2
Review: This movie will not disappoint action fans. Blade2 is one of the best action films to come out in a long time. I took my wife to see this movie and she enjoyed it. In fact, we both agree that it was even better than the first film and that film was beautiful. The action scenes are off the chart. The film is bloody but what would one expect from a vampire movie. The plot is quite good. There was a wonderful plot that even my wife did not see coming. I was a repeat viewer for Blade1 and will definately be one for Blade2. This movie was excellent.

Summary: Not as good as the 1st one, but close...
Review: I liked Blade, in fact, I loved it. It had such a modernized view of vampires that it was actually able to create a semi-realistic environment for the perfect action/horror film. Blade II focuses somewhat on doing the same thing, but has a more gothic horror movie feel to it, probably because it takes place in Prague instead of NY. Thats why I give it 4 stars and not 5. Now for a good old fashioned list...

You will like this movie if:
1) You love anime, video games, comic books, Wesley Snipe's old movies, or horror films.
2) You are not easily disturbed by gorey content (mosters that open their face and such).
3) You liked the first one.
4) You can tolerate movies that move above realism and use CGI to create unrealistic fight seens (i.e. The Matrix).
5) You don't mind somewhat cliche plots and pay more attention to action and humor.
6) You like techno.

Well thats about it. One last comment though, definately for people at least 13 of age.

Summary: WOW
Review: This movie was awsome! This meet my expectaions and then exceeded them. The opening was great, and this movie was much better than the first. The new breed of vampire was so so cool. Not to mention that De Toro really knows how to make a movie. This movie had GREAT battle scenes. Also it was very very creepy. The story isn't that great(what do you expect) and it's very comic bookish, which is great i think. It's non-stop action and the editing is fast and great. This movie is also real real violent. Add 5 cups action, 3 cups fright, 4 cups black comedy, 4 cups blood and poof, you have Blade 2. Go see it now.

Summary: FIGHT SCENES ROCK!!
Review: The fight scenes ROCK in this movie!! Awesome martial arts, cool graphics, and psycho weapons! Wesley Snipes outstands with his fighting skills, showing off very powerful and cool moves (with much credit to my all-time favorite, Donnie Yen, who played "Snow Man" and contributed with the martial arts choreography as well). The fights scenes lasted from begining to end, and even the main villain had some pretty cool "WWF" moves.

The entire movie was somewhat of a bizarre mixture of gothic and matrix. The storyline was a bit one-tracked, (I was expecting more of an over-the-top twist) but it was kind of straight forward and predictable. But that's okay, if your looking for some good action, this movie was worth it.

Summary: The Lawyer Did It.
Review: After seeing Blade II the concept of "snipe-hunting" took on an entirely new meaning for me. Wow! What a show!

We had vampires. We had vampire hunters. We had vampire vamps. And we had some of the creepiest vampire mutants ever. These guys had mouths like the fellows from Preditor. Their whole damn face opened up. But the badest of them all was the lawyer. I kid you not. And he was just a normal lawyer too.

The story has the vampires enlisting the help of Daywalker. Seems there is some bad... mutants eating all of the vampires. Bad blood, you might say, between the vampires and the mutants. But Daywalker is on had to save the day, or night, as it were.

Some of the best special effects I've see yet. Great sound track. And Wes Snipes was as cooler than ever.

Two hours of non stop action, blood and guts, and some humor too. Highly recommended. Cammy Diaz, lawyer

Summary: Oh, Yes!
Review: From the beginning of the Movie until the very end I had a dumb grin plastered all over my face. This movie is fantastic. Incredible action and special effects, and even great acting (gasp) Ron Perlman is fantastic in this movie and I think he steals the show. Go see it.

Summary: The Daywalker Returns in a Solid Sequel!
Review: Second installments are always shaky business, especially when they're derived from a comic book adaptation. They can either "make" or "break" a franchise. With sequels, you have to be able to give your audience a fresh new story, while at the same time remain loyal to the original's idea.

Wesley Snipes returns as the daywalker, Blade, in Blade II, a sequel that unlike most in it's genre, has a heart, mind and body all it's own. There's a real feel that the people who worked on this film really wanted to tie everything together with the previous film. Fans wondering why they've seen Kris Kristofferson's Whistler in the sequel previews, even though he supposedly died in the first film, will be happilly surprised at the explanation. You will even understand why Blade went to Moscow at the end of Part 1. Unfortunately, the only slipup is the disappearance of the character of Karen, played by N'Bushe Wright, who was present at the end of the first film, but is not even mentioned here in the second.

Part 2 begins in Prague, with Blade searching for the location of Whistler, who has been turned into a Vampire and subsuquently tortured. The action sequences are even more elaborate than the first, with the camera actually following jumps and flips in a spiral fashion. By now most of you know the story, which involves a new breed of vampire called Reapors, that are trying to take over their predecessors and eventually enslave the world. The vampires turn to Blade for assistance in helping them wipe out these vicious beasts. In a sort of "Dirty Dozen" meets "Aliens" tradition, Blade teams up with an elite group of vampires, who, turns out, were originally put together to hunt him down. They instead work together to seek out the Reapors to destroy them, but find that killing them is not as easy as they'd hoped.

The film gives Wesley Snipes more range to show some drama this time, with a subplot involving a female vampire named Nyssa, who's a pure blood, working for her father. Twists and turns abound in this comic book action thriller that gives off a nice feel of energy while at the same time making sense. There's plenty martial arts action to make anybody happy, as well some much needed dry humor from Snipes and company. All an all a satisfying experience that will leave most moviegoers in an upbeat fashion. All I can say is, "BRING ON BLADE III!!"

Blade II - A Solid Sequel

"Now didn't I say I'd be back for you?" - Wesley Snipes as Blade
