Summary: PRINCE OF DARKNESS,SUN WALKER, SLAYER OF VAMPIRES.
Review: What has made 'BLADE 2" outstanding is the fact that Guillermo del Toro (Cronos, Espinosa del Diablo,(The Devils Backbone) He is amazing, and can lead you into his stories without you even knowing.

I liked Blade, but I like this Blade 2 so much better. The characters are more put together and animated. Ron Pearlman,(Cronos, Quest For Fire, City of Lost Children) puts out a great performance, three dimensional. Wesley Snipes,( Blade. Murder At 1600, To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar). does a monumental job of being the Sun Walker and his performance is double time, with respect to Blade.

The fight scenes and the mutant vampires are at no time boring and they keep you on the edge of your seat. The only thing I saw that might be copied from another movie was the hinged jaw of the mutants, and I saw that in a movie called Predator, and It was not a carbon copy, but enough to remind. Christopherson was not too bad, at least he had more scenes than he did in Blade. Another actor I liked was Leanor Verala, (The Taylor of Panama), she brought depth to her character as the daughter of the King of Vampires.

I hear there might be a BLADE 3 , I look forward to seeing a third in the Blade franchise...

Summary: This 'Blade' Has Teeth!
Review: This is where it began, folks; this is where Marvel began to crawl out of the pit of crappy filmmaking.

Before the 'Blade' films, you could COUNT on any Marvel character-based film or t.v. show to reek; I give you 'Punisher' (Dolph Lungeren? Good God!), Captain America (the t.v. movies were bad. Apparently, the movie moreso since they shelved it), and that Generation X .... Smells bad now and 10 years later...

Not this frasnchise, tho'! Both the first and this film have done the fan base a service by not insulting them with a watered-down film. Del T gives you blood by the bucketsfull, and that's how it should be. These films are not for kids (well, except maybe mine; we're a strange bunch).

Ron Pearlman was great, very much the sleazy [badman]. And Snipes..what can I say about Snipes? The man is too cool for school. I salute you, sir.

The one gripe I have, and it's not really a gripe but more of an observation, is that they could have shown a little more of the interaction between vampire 'family' members. Perhaps a flashback to when the original injustice was done to the firstborn. Betrayal always gains sympathy.

I am ready to buy this film when it comes out on DVD. And if what I hear is true, the third film ought to be a real mess (in a good way).

Daywalker!

Summary: SHADES II
Review: i gave this movie three stars for the amazing fight scenes in this movie. blade OWNS the one(jet li) :) the twist of the story is intersting(not knowing who is who, enemy that is)but the whole thing was really lame(blood pack - hmmm...mortal combat? and whistler - what the??)
plus... after watching the film, i have to say that the title shouldve been shades II instead of blade II(you'll see why after watching it, hehe).
oh and lastly, they shouldn't have had added the love ingredient in the film(although nyssa ROCKS).

Summary: BLADE 2 IS OFF THE HINGES!!!!!
Review: After seeing this movie I was completely blown away. Wesley is just flat out NASTY! I thought for sure maybe he would start showing signs of slowing down but instead it's the complete opposite...HE GOT FASTER! Although there was more fighting in the first one, Blade 2 may have slightly less but the quality of the fight scenes are just sick. Besides it makes up for it in that it really goes for more of a horror movie approach which it should because the first one, cool as it was, wasn't really all that scary. But this one has a few scares, especially with the eye popping special effects in this movie. I really have nothing bad to say except one thing....DONNIE YEN NEEDED TO BE IN IT A WHOLE LOT MORE! He fought for like 2 minutes and that was it. Sorry to all fellow Yen fans. Talk about a major waste of talent. But that aside the movie is still cool and definitley worth seeing.

Summary: Blade II
Review: Best Blade yet! Very good special effects, theme of movie was excellent. Writing and direction seemed to be on target. Great nonstop action from beginning to end. Great ride! Even rallied for the bad guys for a few minutes. Wesley Snipes appeared to be in top shape for this role once again. Even more so with his martial arts abilities were well done and remarkable.

Summary: All the gory details action films usually leave out...
Review: A lot of the action in Blade II centers around making Wesley Snipes look cool. Each of his movements are well calculated and sound-effects laden. I like the fight scene that takes place in his garage between himself and the female vampire. It does show that he knows how to handle his weapons. However, at the same time, some of the special effects and CGI looked too artificial (reminded me of Mortal Kombat 2).

As in the original Blade, this film follows the exact same formula. The first half of the film establishes the plot and has a gratuitous fight scene between the reapers and the vampires. The next half shows Wesley Snipes' vulnerable-human-affinity side which leads him to the brink of death. But miraculously, he comes back and starts to kick [buttox] towards the end.

I actually don't mind this formula, and there was some semblance of a plot.

Summary: Plot? What plot?
Review: Blade II (Guillermo del Toro, 2002)

Those who loved the original Blade for the martial arts work are going to adore this movie. Those who loved it for the plot are going to be sorely disappointed. I fall in the latter camp, so you can probably skip the rest of this review right now.

Blade (Wesley Snipes) is back, and this time he's teaming up with the vampires against a common enemy, the Reapers, a mutant strain of vampires compared multiple times in the movie to crack addicts. (Gotta love those anti-drug messages being spouted while Blade is injecting that serum daily. Boo-yaa.) Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) is back, too, despite having died in the first film. Yes, folks, resurrection is possible! The two of them are joined by Scud (Norman [8MM, Mimic] Reedus), who took over Whistler's position in Blade's camp while Whistler was spending a couple of years dead (for tax reasons, one assumes), and the Bloodpack, a team of vampiric assassins put together, ironically, to kill Blade. The Bloodpack are headed by Reinhardt (Ron Perlman, reprising his role in The Island of Dr. Moreau right down to the facial expressions), who, while hunting Reapers, never forgets what he was trained for.

So much of this movie had potential. The tension between Reinhardt and Blade exists, but never really goes anywhere except to set up the predictable showdown between the two. Whistler, having been resurrected and kept barely alive by the vampires for two years, could be a turncoat-or could he? The film answers the question in the most offhand of ways eventually, but boy, plot development would have been nice here. While we're at it, the film's major plot twist will be obvious to any viewer who's seen three or more movies in his lifetime within ten minutes of the opening. Nice going, guys.

If Blade was to Snipes what The Terminator was to Schwarzenegger, Blade II is Snipes' version of Raw Deal. I'd rather stay home and watch the original Blade and Passenger 57 back to back. * ½

Summary: You didn't think I'd forget about you, did you?
Review: With the number of comic book heroes coming to life in movies, it's easy to assume they're all the same. Fortunately Blade 2 isn't like [others]. There's a gritty edge to the movie, much like the first.

I expected the movie to be hokey, Kris Kristofferson returns as Whistler, and I was wondering what wild scheme they were going to cook up to bring him back. Some kind of magic? Life support? He didn't really shoot Himself in the first movie? Nah, he had been turned into a vampire, and it's up to Blade to rescue him and give him the antidote.

The pace of the movie was fast paced, but they could have given the "super-vampire killers" more time, Donnie Yen and the rest could have been given more screen time. They ended up mostly as vampire fodder, which is a shame. Yen would have been nice to see in action, the last movie I remember him in was Highlander: Endgame, and he had some impressive fighting skills.

All in all the movie isn't bad, the costuming and makeup were good, the soundtrack fit, and they added in enough humor to keep it from being too dark. I kept wondering where N'Bushe Wright's character was from the first movie. After all, she developed some of the vampire fighting tools, why didn't she come back?

Summary: Blade 2
Review: I think Wesley was superb in Blade 2. If you like a lot of action, ie fighting, then go and see this movie. I truly enjoyed watching it and would go back. I will be getting the dvd when it comes out.
