Rating: Summary: Mark Dacascos goes to the army... Review: An army major working undercover in a gang of army rebillions who deal with drugs. It was quite a good movie with an acceptable plot. . But still, regarding the fights, that was not quite the Mark Dacascos that I once knew from Drive. Mark's style in this movie was rather rough and rude instead of fancy and fun. And I think it's not Mark's fault that his fights weren't lookink this good. I think that the choreographer of the film didn't know how to use Mark's Martial Arts-ability. Maybe Mark's next movie will be a better one...
Rating: Summary: Mark truly know's how to act, and look's good doing it Review: It's gotta be the army clothes, that makes it more appealing to anybody who hasn'y watched this video yet, mark is an undercover army agent who has to get alot of evidence of crooked united states army men, and bring them to justice.
Rating: Summary: Starts out very good, but fizzles at the end Review: The Base is an entertaining movie, up until the director could not figure out how to end it. Mark Dacascos is given a meatier role than usual. We get to see more acting than kicking from him (though he does get to show his stuff in a few scenes). There is more story than action here, which is very good to see. Mark plays an Army Major sent in by the Pentagon to get evidence on a troop of soliders that is suppose to be patroling the U.S./Mexico border to keep illegals out. They are not doing this, instead they are taking out the local drug kingpins and running a little drug business on the side under the cover of the U.S. government. Its a shame that the movie's director could not figure out how to end the movie, otherwise I would rate it alot higher than I am. The ending bordered on the perposterous in respect to the final showdown between MArk's character, Murphy, and two of the bad soliders. They shoot up the base with a tank and M-16 chasing Mark, leading to a final gun/fight showdown. All this garners no attention by the base populas, and more importantly, no response by the MP's. Having served in the armed forces, and knowing the response procedures of the military police, the lack of response from the MP's, and more importantly, the lack of response from ANYONE, was way too convient for the battle to stay just between Mark and his pursuers. This movie is worth the rental fee, but I would not purchase it.
Rating: Summary: No frills at THE BASE Review: THE BASE is an overall average film. Clearly the actors' talents are not put to full use. Mark Dacascos' excellent martial arts skills are supressed to appear like a good street fighter, not the impressive military weapon he is suppose to portray. The story line is interesting, but is weakened by the poor ending of this action film. The good guy wins, but it is a dismal victory. The nudity added to The Base does not really flow with the story line. The director clearly failed in this film. The acting in this film is very good, but the camera angles were not. I'm sure the actors were disappointed with the final product. THE BASE is worth seeing once. I suggest renting versus buying.
Rating: Summary: Very well done Review: Very good action movie, with excellent acting by Mark Dacascos. He brings depth and intensity to the role, and with a look can you can tell his thoughts and emotional state. I am also very impressed with his ability to play different characters in his movies, instead of playing the same character over and over like some of the more famous actors.

Rating: Summary: If you love Tim Abell.... Review: You'll love this movie. While it's a tad on the short side of a great plot, it's great on action and acting from Tim Abell, who has been in other movies, such as "Strategic Command," and the Jerry Bruckheimer television series, "Soldier of Fortune, Inc/SOF: Special Ops Force." He has really grown as an actor and really comes across as a real psycho in this movie. As a former Army Ranger, Tim carries the role of an Army Seargeant very well. And besides, any movie with Tim Abell in it is worth seeing!
