Review: The 6th day is quite a good movie, I saw it in cinema and sure I got to buy the movie on DVD. Arnie-fans will be delighted as he sometimes appears twice a time...:-). But unfortunately the DVD lacks of extras, there are only a commentary track, a few trailers and the Re-Pet TV-Spots, so I assume the informations above are wrong. The making-of plus 10 featurettes, storyboard-to-film comparisons as well as the animatics are missing on this DVD. So far 3 stars.....

Summary: Average Arnie Action...
Review: Not a bad little action movie. Typical Arnie action genre, and entertaining enough to keep you watching. It is good to see him doing what he does best. As usual, no expense was spared, and the special effects were the best part of the movie. The moive really desrves 3-1/2 stars, but the system doesn't allow for that, so 3 stars it is.

Summary: Another Arnold flop
Review: Sure it floped at the Box office, and didnt make it with the general audiance likeing. I believe the resoning behind this flop, is the people saw this Film as another action Schwarzenegger flick, with pathetic plot twists. Actually the people didnt give it a chance because of these facts. I would have to say it was a good film, with a setting that lives up to a relistic future. The plot is none like anyother written before, which made me want to see it again and again. I recomend to buy it!

Summary: "I think I'll be back..."
Review: After seeing this in the theatre, I was still undecided on whether I would add it to our home library. We went ahead and purchased it at new release price of 14.00 and boy are we glad to have it!! The picture and audio rival the finest I've ever seen!! Not a whole lot in the extras department, but it does have trailers for several other films(Hollow Man, Gattaca, Final Fantasy, and Sixth Day). Arnold fans, do not hestiate. You'll notice the superb picture quality and sound in the opening frames. Very stylish and hopefully a sign of more good Ahhnold movies to come.....

Summary: The 6th Day is a Very Thought Provoking Film, but...
Review: "The 6th Day" should have been a major hit. The film had the appropriate action scenes and the smart dialogue to entice a vast audience. It's lukewarm reception is due solely to the cold fact that Arnold Schwartzenegger is too old to star in this sort of role. Am I a teenager looking down upon middle age males? On the contrary, I'm about the same age as the 53 year old muscle man star. We are both eligible to join the American Association of Retired People (AARP). Nevertheless, I am simply realistic enough to recognize that Arnold continues playing parts meant for a man 20 years younger than himself. The boy in the movie, for instance, was not merely old enough to be Arnold's son, he was also young enough to be his grandson! Schwartzenegger tries to pretend that he's perpetually in his mid 30s--and the results are embarrassing to say the least.Now that I've highlighted my major point regarding the age issue, what did I think of the overall movie? I liked it immensely and encourage anyone who is philosophically inclined to make sure they view "The 6th Day." Robert Duval as a conscience stricken scientist and Tony Goldwyn as the cloned billionaire are faultless. The latter especially gave such a strong performance that he may have deserved an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor. Those who usually prefer the so called serious intellectual flicks will not be disappointed. There is a particularly poignant scene where a cloned assassin blurts out that he's tired of being killed and revived so often within a 24 hour period. This bit of dark humor is akin to sharp punch to the solar plexus. One is forced to wonder if this might become an everyday reality sometime in the not too distant future. There are many similar scenes that will challenge the viewer. "The Sixth Day" attempts to be both escapist entertainment and profoundly existential--and delivers on both levels. The pressing issue of cloning will increasingly dominate both our political and cultural landscape. I personally doubt if we will ever be able to perfectly clone an individual human being. This daunting task would demand the talent to clone not just the physical dimension of the unique person, but also their psychological and intellectual. But what if I'm ultimately proven to be incorrect? As for my earlier comments regarding Arnold's advancing age? Please don't shoot the messenger. Also, are the vast majority of movie fans guilty of unjust age discrimination? I think not. There's simply a point where one has to admit and graciously accept the honorable condition of being middle age. The general public has a right to expect this from you. That time has come for Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Summary: Arnie Wins Again
Review: Yet again, Arnie does it again with a great movie which entertains for the whole two hours it runs. I think the reason his films work with the watching audience is that the storyline is not heavy and tiresome to understand, the effects are always spectacular, and the action just keeps on commin'. The 6th Day just continues that same tradition of Arnie films to entertain the masses, me included. Watch it or you could be watching yourself??

Summary: Missing Something?
Review: Sitting through this movie I felt like I was watching another Total Recall. I also felt like something major was going to happen and it never did. The action is pretty good, but the story is O.K. If you like Schwarzenegger you will probably like this movie. If you don't like Schwarzenegger, then you probably hate this movie. I recommend watching Total Recall again, unless there is nothing else to rent.

Summary: We Are the Body Snatchers
Review: A not-so-bad entry in the Schwartzenegger sci-fi legacy. It has been compared to Total Recall, but I think that's just because the packaging is similar. Ironic, huh? The central theme is cloning. Arnie is your basic everyman bodyguard of the future who, because it was his birthday (another bit of clever irony), didn't get killed when he was supposed to because he made some last minute plan changes. So what happens? He arrives home that night to discover a replacement is celebrating his birthday, right there where he's supposed to be, with his family. To make things even more interesting, human cloning is illegal in the extreme, so much so that if anyone (family included) saw the two of them together, they would have to be, um, erased. What saves this film from descending from this point into major cheese is (a) not making too much of a statement for or against the concept of cloning, and (b) the overall option of taking anything seriously. There is enough throwaway humor in this popcorn burner to qualify it as a true mainstream satire, so much so that the formulaic clichés and the arbitrary Arnie one-liners don't ruin it too much. So maybe it lacks the Cameron Cojonés and the Verhøeven Viscera, and tries in a few sections to be a trendy music video. The story is sufficiently involving, the pace is crisp and relentless, the overall production values executed with evident care. And at least there is an attitude, that welcome irony .... especially in the scenes with multiple Schwartzeneggers, bantering with each other about various imperfections. It is always refreshing to watch a superman poke fun at his projected image. A couple of interesting statements are made on the subject of synthetic companions, from the little girl's model (the most grotesque entry since Chucky) to the virtual girlfriend (equally grotesque in its mindless representation of what men expect of a woman), and it is nice that the filmmakers are willing to sprinkle a little provocative spice over what is ultimately intended as a "ride" movie. The weird thing was, this viewer began seeing Arnie as a Charlton Heston clone, in a remake of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" in which human beings play the aliens. Can't help but wonder, if Don Siegel had a premonition of cloning technology ..... and if we might end up seeing Arnie, somewhere down the line, in a remake of "Soylent Green". "It's made out of PEOPLE!"

Summary: A Snoozer
Review: Well, all you reviewers sold me on this Arnold flick. Better than Total Recall? I don't think so. Maybe I wasn't in the mood, but this movie struck me as old hat. The helicopters and some of the other hardware was neat, but the "plot" was tired. Arnold is yet another average schmoe, working at an average job (OK, he's a chopper charter pilot) .......... Enter the bad guys, Arnold's family is threatened, and the schmoe is transformed into a super-hero. We've all seen it so many times, it's hard to buy anymore. The only wrinkle is the cloning, so we get TWO aging super heroes instead of just one. I was literally nodding off on the couch during the finale. Unless you are a hard core Arnold junkie, I'd recommend you pass on this one.
