Summary: Average action flick.
Review: This movie is one that isn't bad at all, but not one that is that great either. The acting is fine as it has Arnold, plus it has Robert Duvall and Tony Goldwyn which are both great actors. The one thing I didn't like about this movie however was the "sketchy" storyline. It was interesting enough, but didn't have anything amazing. It's not Arnold's best movie by far, but it has just enough punch for some fun to be had.

Review: If this is entertainment then why didn't The Last Action Hero get an Oscar? It had a lot more going for it then this tub of borrowed ideas. Cloning is without a doubt fertile territory for good melodrama or satire as evidenced by Fay Weldon's Cloning Of Joanna May. I realize 6th Day is not meant to be taken as serious fare but even as an action/adventure flick it's full of big black holes. To start with, what's the point of killing & re-cloning the same people repeatedly? In this film the clones carry their individual consciousnesses from one clone incarnation to the next. (Except for Arnold, of course, who as the star gets to be his own concurrent clone.) Sounds more like the old vampire gimmick to me. In addition, these clones are digitally programmed "blanks". What? I thought those were called Androids & clones were DNA re-gens. All right, enough with the logic quibbles. Arnold, although looking somewhat uncomfortable as the family man, still manages to be a fair clone of Clint Eastwood, throwing out some fair simulated squints, scowls & glares. Boy, this flick sure made me miss Roy Batty.

Summary: Maybe it's cloned from previous Arnold films, but enjoyable
Review: Some of the criticism of "The 6th Day" centers on the undeniable fact that we've seen a bit of the main character, Adam Gibson, before. Was "6th Day" cloned from stuff "Total Recall" left on the cutting room floor? Well, aside from the always-appealing plot theme of "who am I, really" which is also in "Total Recall", I have to say, no, this is a good, mostly original and enjoyable science fiction thriller. And thrilling it certainly was. Though some of the thematic material is somewhat derivative if you are a sci-fi buff, this movie delivers a goodly amount of suspense and turn-around surprises. It isn't the smartest plot in the DVD deck; I found some of the scenes predictable and there was one deplorable and totally gratuitous car chase early in the film. (Grrrrr I hate gratuitous car chases.) And later on, there is a Matrix-cloned scene involving another type of transportation, but I won't put ANY spoilers in here and tell you about it. But it's why I nicked this a star and rated it four and not five. However, if you can shut an eye to the vehicular filmicide, you may enjoy a reasonably fast-paced, very suspenseful film with a good supporting cast, too. Schwarzenegger has been quoted as saying he believes in delivering plenty of good entertainment value for the filmgoer's dollar, as in "Terminator 2" --a big favorite. He is a man of his word. "The 6th Day" has lots of good stuff-- thrills, suspense, special effects. It's fine science fiction and lots of fun.

Summary: Two Geniuses!
Review: Human cloning may be touchy subject, but hey if you're cloning Arnold Schwarzenegger, go ahead! Two geniuses are better than one. Adam Gibson was an ordinary man who on his birthday, found out that he wasn't the only one getting birthday wishes! Treachery! A unique cloning plan violated sixth day laws and the corporation wanted the real Gibson dead! Or was he the real one? This is a twisted science fiction movie that left me puzzled! They tricked me! The shocking ending will leave you scratching your chin and wondering how the deity fooled you! Schwarzenegger is not only a wonder, he is tricky! That was a good one Arnold. I liked how you used that lady's finger to gain access into some labs. Very clever. You sure can drive too! And I haven't seen you jump off a waterfall in the longest time, thanks! The special effects and co-stars are just dynamite! YES!

Summary: Very good action
Review: This is mainly an action movie, one should not expect more. I like action movies with Schwarzenegger, and that one did not disappoint me. The movie features a real Schwarzenegger and his clone, each thinking to be the real one. I wasn't quite sure who was the clone and who was not. After watching the DVD a second time it became clear who is the clone and who is not. This is thus not as good as Total Recall, where one remains unsure about the reality or virtuality of the story Schwarzenegger goes through.
Both unite to fight a capitalist company that clones people. The question the movie raises is: is it right to clone? If you like Schwarzenegger's style, action and good special effects, then this will probably enjoy that movie, which I find somehow comparable to Eraser. Not excellent like Conan the Barbarian, Terminator, etc. but still very good.

Summary: P.U. "Cool"
Review: From the cheesy script, to the state of the art (in 1970) special effects, this movie has it all. when i saw the commercials on tv a while ago i was pumped because it looked like an excellent arnold movie, being a huge fan of him. but this movie was awful. i had a hard time keeping a straight face when i watched this movie, and ended up in a laughing frenzy at roughly the 11 minute mark. they dont even use guns in it, they use these oderiferous "laser guns" that are boring. the plot seems like it should be cool, which it may be, but the acting is incredibly sub-par (especially by the guy from henry & mallrats) i dont own this movie nor do intend on ever watching it again. i always look forward to arnold movies, and he always has those great one liners in his movies that are always hilarious, that is not the case on this poor excuse for a movie. those great lines are replaced with situations like the following (for anyone who has seen the movie) when the two arnold create some kind of explosion, right after fighting with each other, they look at each other and say "cool" hense the title of this ever so accutate review of this farse movie...

Summary: GETTING OLD? NEED A NEW ORGAN? JUST CLONE YOURSELF A NEW ONE
Review: THOUGH IT LACKS BELIEVABILITY, SO WHAT? IT WAS A FUN MOVIE TO WATCH. REMINISCENT OF HIS EARLIER SCIFI MOVIES, IT HAD PLENTY OF ACTION, AND ENOUGH CONSPIRACY JUNK TO KEEP YOU INTERESTED. NICE MOVE-WHEN ARNOLD, AND ARNOLD JOIN UP TO FIGHT THE BAD GUYS. I THOUGHT IT ALSO HANDLED THE PROBLEMS(BOTH PHYSICAL, AND MORAL) OF CLONING QUITE WELL, AND ENJOYED THE MOVIE FOR WHAT IT WAS-A DECENT SCIFI CONCEPT MOVIE.

Summary: Good Arnie flick
Review: The movie is set in a futuristic world where human cloning has been banned. However, Arnie finds himself in a situation where he has been cloned and after the cloners unsuccessfully try to assassinate him, he sets about unravelling the mystery surrounding his cloning. There are lots of things to like about the movie. Firstly, the topic of human cloning is very relevant and each day we are confronted with technological advances and ethical issues to consider. One of the most chilling thoughts that I encountered while watching the film was "What would it be like to encounter a genetically identical clone who shared all your memories, loves, hates, fears, joys, desires...?" The main drawback of the movie is a fairly predictable plot. Whilst the topic itself is highly fascinating, the progression of the movie is mundane and it's not hard to guess the sequence of events. However, all in all it's an enjoyable movie to watch. There's not as much action as previous Arnie flicks but still plenty of guns, action and explosions for fans of that genre.

Summary: Surprisingly Worthwhile
Review: After the recent trend of Schwarzenegger flop films, I was afraid that this would be yet another tragedy to add to that long list. In fact, I skipped the movie altogether, and happened to catch a showing of it on cable before I would finally watch it. Surprisingly, I couldn't peel my eyes away from the television. Instead of a touching storyline filled with Arnold's "lighter side moments," he was again pulling out all the stops to play a face-paced action role. The story delves into the recent social firestorm, cloning, making it against the law to perform this "sixth day violation." Well, as with anything sacred in a sci-fi thriller, this law was tossed out the window in a hail of laser fire. Add to this a plethora of special effects and it makes something that, again, was stunning in its pace and, to a degree, its complexity. This is not to say that it was the most in-depth thriller I've ever experienced, but it was nice to see Arnold breaking necks and cutting off fingers to gain understand the dilemmas faced.
