Summary: A clone of Total Recall. Buy the Original Instead
Review: The 6th Day tries to clone the style of several Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. The film copies some setting elements of the contemporary Jingle All the Way and True Lies and replicates Total Recall's near futuristic storyline. Unfortunately, like a real clone, this film looks the same on the outside but lacks the personality. warmth, and depth of any of the original films.
The plot about a man being illegally cloned to cover up the death of an executive just doesn't work. Ironically the 6th Day comes off like a PC clone of Paul Verhoven's ultra violent superior 1990 film Total Recall. That film's plot centers on the mystery of whether or not Schwarzenegger character's memories are real or not. The 6th Day Poses a similar question asking the audience to question is Schwarzenegger a clone or not. Unfortunately, We get cheated out of what could have been an interesting mystery because this film answers that question by the half-hour mark. With the main question of the mystery answered, the whole film falls flat and turns into a Scene for scene cleaned up PC version of Total Recall set in the bland, boring suburb where Jingle All the Way happened. Watching the 6th Day I found myself missing Total Recall; that film's violence had a purpose in the plot and gave the film a dark, gritty feel of life in the big city in the near future. Best of all, the violence forced the futuristic details to blend into the backgrounds. In this violence-free film the futuristic details stick out like a bunch of pink flamingoes. The details such as Arnold's jetcopter, RePets to a simdoll and a reference to the defunct XFL, and quarterbacks earning $300 million, don't blend in the background to give us a picture of life in the era; they come to the forefront and get in the way of the story and characters. The characters themselves come off too bland and boring, to stand out because they don't have a personalities of their own like Total Recall's gritty and sleazy characters. I barely learned anything about Arnold Schwarzenegger character outside of him being a pilot and a loving family man.
Speaking of characters, this film "clones" Total Recall's villains too. Unfortunately, the actors don't give great performances like Michael Ironside, Sharon Stone, and Ronny Cox did. That's because this film forgets to "clone" Total Recall's villains story, personality or depth. I couldn't hate them or care about them because I never got to know them. They had no personality or story to follow The only purpose of the villains in this film is to chase after Schwarzenegger in the PC, bloodless, watered down action sequences and shoot at him because the big boss told them to. And the big boss comes off like a used car salesman instead of an evil exec. I don't feel any sense of menace or danger from any of the villains; that made a lot of the action scenes in the final act come off as tedious.
After watching this bland film I quickly forgot about it ten minutes after watching it. I guess that's why it was the box office bomb that started Arnold Schwarzenegger slow road downhill. There was nothing memorable about the 6th Day for people to recommend it to friends. It just came off like a generic action movie. For an unforgettable real near future experience full of action and adventure, buy Paul Verhoven's Total Recall or Robocop. Those movies are well worth the price of purchase.

Summary: Schwarzenegger's last good film
Review: The 6th day may be the only action flick Arnold has made within the past few years that I actually liked. It is filled with good gun battles, chase scenes and many cool futuristic stuff. This movie had a good plot and beside of all the cheesy humor, it is definitely a good film. I just saw this on ABC (It premiered today) and I loved it. Here is the movie's plot.
Arnold is Adam Gibson. An average man whose life soon changes into a total nightmare. When a secret organization has Adam and many other people take an eye test, what the people do not know is that the organization has also taken their dna and "Sincord" (their whole memory which has been put on a disk) and uses it to create clones of them. The man who does this is Michael Drucker (Tony Goldwyn). His plan is to create a whole group of clones to help one day make lawyers change the law that states human cannot be cloned. But in order do have this become successful, he mast eliminate (or in simpler terms-KILL) every person he clones in order to erase the evidence. After all, they can't two of the same person running around. Anyway, Adam one day comes homes and sees that someone in his home looks just like him! Before he knows it, there is a group of assassins out trying to kill him. But it seems that doing that won't be easy for them to accomplish. But it also doesn't seem that killing the assassins will not make things so much easier because they will just get cloned and go after him again. Adam, manages to get away from then but now realizes his life is ruined. Now kill the organization and Michael Drucker before they can kill him and try to find a way to get his life back.
Anyway, the 6th day is a good action packed film. The covers says "Two Thumbs Up" and believe me, I give it 2 thumbs up. Unless if T3 isn't a bomb, this is Arnold's last good film. Its definitely better then END OF DAYS and COLLATERAL DAMAGE. Any Arnold fan will love this film so get it bacause it will be worth it. DVD Features

Review: This is the coolest movie i have ever seen!Though i might admit that the theme and plot really disturb me.This movie is starring arnold schwarzenegger.He plays adam gibson.A normel adverage guy who's life becomes a living nightmare.He discovers that a top secret company had cloned him and is trying to kill the real him to keep their secret hidden.Although the movie was great,the plot really disturbed me.Human Cloning is completely immoral!This movie is bibically related and proves that cloning humans is a terriable thing to do!This movie scared me half to death!However the story is very touching,it is a little light for a arnold scharzenegger movie.I think there should have been a little more action and less story.Although i don't think cloning people is such a good idea!We should stop doing it!However this movie is definently one of arnolds finest.

Summary: Arnie's best in years
Review: After the debacle that was End of Days, Arnold Schwarzenegger returned with The 6th Day; this clever, slickly done sci-fi romp that gave us Arnie in a familiar role. Similarities to Total Recall aside (and there are many), this is a much less graphicly violent sci-fi action flick where Arnie is on the run while trying to uncover a vast conspiracy of why he was illegally cloned. Schwarzenegger gives one of his better performances of late, although the scenes where he and his clone are interacting don't come off as all too believeable, and some of the action scenes don't look as well put together as the rest of the film. The rest of the cast is good as well, including Tony Goldwyn in his most slimy role since Ghost, and Michael Rooker is his usual charming self as one of the assassins after Arnie. The DVD itself is nicely put together and has fantastic audio and visual capabilities. All in all, The 6th Day is undoubtadly the best Schwarzenegger film since True Lies, and is more than worth watching whether your an Arnie fan or a sci-fi fan in general.

Summary: That Arnold Schwarzenegger...WHAT AN ACTOR!!!
Review: Arnold Schwarzenegger in perhaps his greatest dramatic role...I haven't seen a performance this rich, this nuanced, since the slobbering bulldog in that "Turner & Hooch" movie. Best of all was the scene between Schwarzenegger and Duvall...a meeting of acting titans that was long overdue...imagine what these two could have achieved opposite each other in the Godfather films if only Scharzenegger had played Michael Corleone instead of Al Pacino..."I know it vas you Fredo--und now, I vill crush your szpinal column und then rezite my clever zinger, "You szhould have had more backbone!" Anyway, back to this movie--a little long for a movie version of a comic book, but kind of funny for obvious reasons. I would actually give it two and a half stars, but the grading system here won't allow fractions. By the way, male viewers take note: The girl assassin is really cute.

Summary: A good action movie, but it's way too long
Review: This is a good action movie, except they throw in quite a lot of scenes that are irrelevant, and do nothing to slow down the plot. The action scenes are standard for a typical hour and a half (commando, Raw Deal, Eraser). A good 20 minutes is probably spent during action scenes, but the movie moves so slow it takes like 30 minutes between action scenes. Their is too many scenes where arnold is bonding with his family, it feels like im watching the beginning of Commando all over again. scenes that slow down the movie 1) arnold bonds with his family too much
2) the opening scene of the badguy during the party
3) Dr. Weir and His wife
4) the long wait from arnold infiltrating the clone lab, until he escapes and blasts his way out. it has to be atleast 20 minutes from when he busts in, until he get's a laser gun and starts doing his signature Shoot-em up stuff. overall, this is a good movie to add to arnolds endlist list of action movies. After doing End of days, and Batman Robin, he needed a good action movie in his roster. But why did arnold have to do Collateral Damage? He should've decided to do terminator 3 instead of collateral damage, then terminator 3 would already be on DVD.

Summary: Bad Idea
Review: Were are the old Arnold's movies like Commando, Predator, and Running Man? This one was annoying. I did not like the story, and I did not like the action. No humor at all. Special effects alone are nothing. What I particularly like is Arnold's humor. Red Heat is a perfect example of what I am talking about. While watching this movie I did not even smile. It left me with a bad feelings. Now, I am going to watch Commando to get my feelings back.

Review: arnold is in the usual action flicks, but these suck! if he wants to make some good hits in the 00's, he's gonna have to incorporate some action in his "action" movies. This would be a very watchable movie, if they included some good action scenes to keep us thrilled with. theirs a gunfight at the end, but arnold can't hit anything. and it's not very long. what ever happened to the days of nonstop gun battles in the days of total recall, terminator 2 and commando? now he shoots a couple bullets, has to get rescued, and always get's beat up. arnold isn't supposed to back down. He's supposed to attack...!!! but he fails to do so. anyway, rent it if u want to see arnold getting older and doing less.

Summary: The Arnie money machine....
Review: Being a big fan after a long day in the office of "Sit and vegetate, no thinking required" movies, I must say I was disappointed with this. Running alone the usual actions lines you expect from Arnie, this movie just didn't yield the same punch we have come to expect. Below are a few of the problems.
1. The movie is very slow to take off. This is particularly evident when our hero arrives back from work and sees his clone.
2. The movie itself is based on an exciting principle with which our writer could have done so much. The movie lacks substance with poor dialogue scenes seriously slowing the pace.
3. Our evil villains just don't seen to grab your imagination as they have before.
4. The usual "blow stuff up" seems to have been abandoned somewhat as our hero is overly nice and conscientious (if somewhat bewildered). Compared to Eraser and True Lies, this movie just doesn't get off the ground. What could have been an excellent movie falls well short with no real empathy for our heroine and a complete lack of suspense. It is movie that having watched half of and then being unexpectantly called away, could easily result in you never bothering to watch the remainder. Not Arnie's best.
