Review: THE 6TH DAY is science-fiction action film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold plays Adam Gibson, a professional helicopter pilot who has a loving wife and a daughter. The time period is "the near future," and there are laws that ban the concept of cloning human beings, but the cloning of animals and household pets is perfectly legal. The action and the fun begins when Adam Gibson comes home from a seemingly normal day of work on his birthday, and see's a clone of himself eating his birthday cake with his wife and daughter in his house. It seems that an evil corporation has illegally cloned Adam for reasons unknow to him, but Adam is very eager to find out, so he arms himself with some weapons and goes out to kick some human-cloning .... This movie turned out to be way better than I expected, and I recommend it to all action and Arnold Schwarzenegger movie fans!

Firstly, The movie was great!

Secondly, The scenes of "school" for the childrens recital and arnie running down the hall were filmed at my old high school. Anyway, long story short...Alot of equiptment was stolen after the film crew left..

Great movie, great plot, GREAT SFX. Oh, and my dad actually met arnie!

Summary: Hidden messages in --The 6th Day----ref. to "Pure Wheat"
Review: Ok, well I'm bored so....Over the years I have seen different messages hidden in the backrounds of movies in the props and backrounds of various scenes. In this movie, there is a spot where the camera pans past a storage locker for different cloned items. The one that caught my eye was the one showing "PURE WHEAT". I believe it is toward the end of the movie. There are many different conspiracies out there that suggest an elitest quest to create the "perfect" human. Because of the nature of this movie, I wouldn't doubt at all that this may be a reference to the bible, relating to the book of Revelations where the wheat(God's selected people) is to be reaped or collected. Could this be hinting at an endeavor to selectively create/clone humans that would be without hereditary diseases or psychological disorders? Or maybe specifically to preserve or clone those who have lead an unblemished life (ie: Mother Theresa and many others), considering different areas of our brains control our actions and feelings. Reproducing or preserving them would definitely make for a brighter and more positive future. Well, all of this could be just someone's thought on the Bible or just a random choice for a stage prop(the "wheat reference")But with all the religous groups out there,including the fantaticals (ie:Adolf Hitler) that believe they will wipe out the wicked(using diseases,catastrophies,etc...)we should maybe take a look at Revelations 21:4---- "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Science can poss. one day limit tear duct flow-no salts in the diet maybe,numbing or stopping pain receptors,better health=extended life,etc...Well, have fun with this one guys, hope I didn't go too deep on ya', but anythings possible. Maybe I just think to much...But I bet if you start paying more attention to backround props through-out movies and sitcoms on t.v., you will be amazed by the number of things that have been placed purposely or slipped in. Overall though, this was a pretty entertaining movie.

Review: "Ah-nuld" is back and brawnier than ever! This time, Schwarzenegger is a helicopter pilot who finds himself on the "To Do" list of a murderous tycoon (Tony Goldwyn). The good news is that the hit gets botched. The bad news is that Goldwyn has cloned Arnold, who must fight to get his life back. An action-packed spin on the ethical quandary of cloning, The 6th Day is future-perfect.

Summary: Death by stereo
Review: This portrayal of one possible future made me laugh only because laughter is how I cope with impending doom. The thought of a talking fridge is not only annoying but enough to make me wonder what the microwave is saying about me at night.
Mr. Schwarzenegger once again earns his cash as the average Joe who has been wronged by a corporation dumb enough to upset him.

There were a few moments of poetic justice, like the bit where the billionaire's clone is stripping him naked while he's still bleeding to death. This would have undoubtedly made it clear to him what a cold and uncaring man he is.

This does more than enough to not get lost among the lesser sci-fi flicks. Very cool

Summary: A different kind of futuristic movie
Review: Another movie that the masses and critics didn't go for. But the idea of this one stayed with me for a long time after seeing it. Sure, there are many gaps and probable impossibilities, but the idea...cloning ourselves, or others? Or worse, someone cloning us, without us even realizing it? Are you a clone? Are you sure? Man, these kind of questions had me thinking. Anything is possible. And anything is, especially in futuristic movies. (and movies in general of course) The effects are good. It's something I'd definitely watch again, if only to believe for a while that we don't have to lose the ones we love. And selfish people with God complexes can be brought down by ordinary men. Um, so long as they're as big and strong as Arnold anyway.

Summary: Good film - ending threw me a little
Review: I originally bought this for my Dad, as it was only £3.99 (for a special edition!), but somehow, after watching it, it found its way into my case of DVDs. Oh well, what a shame.

I wasn't particularly fussed about watching this film, and as it turns out, I've seen it before - in every other film that Arnie has ever done. So no change with this film. I dunno whether he can't be bothered reading the scripts or what, but he seems to have got himself stereotyped as the same character. Or maybe he can only play one character. Hmmmmm!

The issue of cloning has becoming more and more realistic, since Dolly the sheep, and now they're cloning human cells or something to cut out disease. It's something like that. Or is it human parts they're cloning? Whatever. It has a lot of similarities to Total Recall, which wasn't that terrific. But it's an Arnie movie, he can do wrong in some people's eyes.

I liked most of the characters in this, including Arnie's character, although he seems to take the p*ss out of some of his previous incarnations. Also included amongst the cast are Michael Rapaport (he played one of Phoebe's boyfriends in Friends - Gary the cop), and also Tony Goldwyn (the semi-bad guy in Ghost). I found Tony's character very hard to understand, as he seemed like he really wasn't that great big a part of the movie, along with Robert Duvall's character. Both could have been cut out of the movie, and we wouldn't have missed them.

There are a few funny scenes in this. Arnie & Arnie are hilarious together (although you can see from the back that they aren't the same person obviously!), and Sim Pal Cindy was just creepy! Especially when she's got a big hole in her chest, and STILL she talks!

There are a few daft bits too, some small bits that obviously the bigwigs missed. Arnie has a razor cut when he gets cloned and Michael Rapaport's character uses this to identify him as the uncloned. Later on, we find they can reproduce this tiny little cut. So why exactly does the bad girl have to repierce her ears every time she gets cloned?

Some of the action sequences in this are pretty dire, particularly the helicopter scene - guys, you can see the white lines!

For Arnie fans, you'll probably enjoy this movie, although I thought he looked really old during a few scenes - he's getting on a bit for these action roles now. If you've seen Blade Runner or Total Recall (and there's probably a few other films that touch on the same subject), then you'll probably not really enjoy this movie.

The best bit of the whole movie? The virtual girlfriend. That could come in quite handy if you're desperately missing your boyfriend/girlfriend. Just imagine what you could get up to!

Summary: "Total Recall" meets "I Robots" meet family friendly viewing
Review: Contrary to a lot of people's beliefs, this movie is not a rip on Total Recall, just merely along the same lines of internal conflict. People who have recently seen the outstanding "I Robot" will no doubt see where some of the inspiration came. Just as Will Smith is wary of the robots, Schwarzneggar's Adam character is wary of a pet-cloning company called RePet. The plot goes that the president of the most powerful cloning company is assasinated by anti-cloning radicals in a helicopter with Adam's friend, who was identified to be Adam. Because of this, the President and Adam are both cloned and Adam comes home to find his clone celebrating his own birthday through the window. Arnie then goes on a hunt to track down the cloning operation and get to the bottom of the huge mess that has been thrust into his life.

Like "I Robot", the movie has a great amount of twists and turns, and like "Total Recall", Arnold wonders who he is (6th day- Am I a clone? Total Recall - is this real, or just part of the Recall program?) The movie is also fairly family friendly (save for a few violent but bloodless/suggestive scenes) and is PG-13, an absolute rarity for an Arnold action movie, especially considering the graphic and gratuitous violence of "Total Recall". Arnold also plays an average joe, not a killing maching like in "Commando", which is refreshing. Having said all that, this is a great rental movie for average viewers, and if you liked "I Robot" or "Total Recall" (or love Ah-nuld, hey, who doesn't? :-) then this is well worth the price of admission.
