Summary: A must see action thriller.
Review: Air Force One is one of Harrison Ford's best films yet. It is a must see movie about president Marshall(as played by Harrison Ford) and his family taking a trip back to the U.S. aboard the 747 Air Force One. Leaving Moscow a group of terrorists undercover as news reporters get a little help from of the presidents informers to take over the 747. They succeed in taking the president's family and secret service captive. After thinking that the president escapad on the escape pod they try to take over the U.S.. What they don't realize is that the presient was still on the plain and was working on taking back control of it.

Summary: Just simply wants to make you weep for America
Review: The schlockmeisters from Hollywood have surpassed themselves with this offering. It needs more than suspension of disbelief to be entertained here - a full-frontal lobotomy is almost a prerequisite.

It is so over-the-top and patently absurd in its action sequences that it actually can't rate as a movie in the genre of a thriller: it's more like a self-parody of an action movie; what's missing is the canned laughter to give this movie some form of legitimacy and classification as to what the Producer had in mind when he dished this up to the public.

Yes, every respectable critic has alluded to the spraying of hundreds of rounds machinegun fire inside a pressurised cabin of a 747 - but what we have here is a President who's a master of armed and unarmed combat, an Avionics Engineer - a man adept at doing anything in a crisis situation. We can also add: the perfect, caring and reassuring father and husband, maybe, we can include gynaecologist to his rather impressive list of credentials as well.

This guy can hang outside a plane flying at 550mph at 38,000ft in -60 degrees Centigrade - if you're not impressed with that, we also see him standing upright on the plane's wing.

Gary Oldman has played the arch villain once too often; his acting is becoming banal, predictable and synthetic - it's almost as if he doesn't believe in his character anymore - he's simply bored by the monotonous, one-dimmensional, stereotyped role of the baddie.

As for the role of Glenn Close as V.P. - she should know better. The scenes in the war room with the false sentiments of angst, anticipation, anxiety; and finally, overwhelming relief and joy......it was cringingly awful.

Somehow, I can't help but think, that those viewers who raved about this movie spend their vacation in the Grand Canyon searching for conclusive proof that the coyote is still chasing after the Roadrunner.

Summary: I'd vote for Harrison Ford for President anytime!
Review: Having read many of the other reviews - some in favor, some against Harrison Ford's performance. I am of the opinion no other actor could have played this part better than he. Of course, anyone watching this movie should realize that it is only that, a story, but what a story! My only regret is that he did not play the part of the President as Dr. Jack Ryan, as in Tom Clancy's books - "Debt of Honor" and "Executive Orders." This would have then put it all in perspective as the real President - then "Air Force One." Harrison Ford and Tom Clancy would have billionaires instead of multi-millionaires!! I love them both!

Summary: This one is #1!
Review: What a powerful movie! Harrison Ford and Oldman make the perfect pair. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and you will too!

Summary: Play Spot-The-Movie
Review: Watching this movie is kind of like watching a spoof movie like 'Hot Shots!' In 'Hot Shots!' you say "Oh, that's Superman" or "Dances With Wolves" or anything else they ripped off.

In Air Force One, I found myself thinking "Oh, that's Die Hard. That looks like Speed. There's DropZone... Living Daylights... Cliffhanger..." and possibly more.

This didn't bother me the slightest little bit. Although the bad guy (Oldman) kills quite a few people in cold blood, you know that you're not supposed to like it, and it makes the villain even more creepy. I'm sick of seeing movies where the bad guy is cracking jokes all the way through the movie, unnecessarily kills more extras than I have fingers and toes to count them on, and in the end not being sure whether I'm supposed to actually hate the bad guy and what he was doing.

This movie has plenty of action, good guys that are easy to go for, victims that are easy to feel sorry for, and villains that are easy to hate. It gets very far fetched at the end, but with the rollercoaster ride I had with the rest of the film, it didn't matter.

Summary: FORD AS THE U.S. PRESIDENT KICK'S ***
Review: I saw this film and i thought it would be aroutine action film, but I was wrong. Violent, tense, edge of your seat thriller. Ford , the most reliable actor in Hollywood.

Summary: What can I say?
Review: I have seen it 24 times and still love it! Be sure to turn up that home theater surround system when the landing of Air Force One is aborted by the terrorists, easily accessible off of DVD by jumping to the scene. The sound of the take off of AFO is incredible and was one of the hardest scenes to make according to Wolfgang.

Summary: Non-stop excitement
Review: From the opening scene of a task force on a deadly mission into Kazakhstan to the final moment, "Air Force One" is non-stop action. The characters are some of the best embodiment-of-good/evil in films today, and Petersen's direction is virtually flawless. A must-see action flick.

Summary: Good, but a little too heavy on the US Propaganda
Review: Yay! Finally... we have a film which epitomizes the kind of president that we would all love to have presiding over us at all times! Although Harrison Ford was excellent in this movie, the real star of the show was Gary Oldman, who demonstrates again that he's one of the few best actors around. In an interview with Harrison Ford after its release, he was actually asked if he had to 'up' his acting in order to star alongside Oldman! Glenn Close was very convincing as the country's vice president who kept the faith and didn't crack under the pressure. Jurgen Prochnow, as the dastardly General Radek showed his acting finesse without even having to say a word in his small role.

As good as a film as it was, it was very heavy on the Way hay! Hooray for USA saving the day! Stuff. The amount of unwarranted patriotism was way to excessive, especially since the president of the USA was already the hero... what more could you ask for? This is why I couldn't award five stars for this movie. Putting Oldman against Ford in an action film is one of the best things Hollywood have done in a while!
