Summary: Jet Li wants to be THE ONE
Review: Jet Li is back in the action pack film THE ONE. Now, If you're looking for a movie with a deep plot, damatic acting, and a deep meaning then don't look here. THE ONE is action packed and that's that. It's an OK action movie. The visual effacts are well done and the acting is OK. Without giving too much away, Jet Li plays a man with the ability to travel to alternate, parallel universes. He also posses super strength, speed, and intellegence. That's all I'm saying about that. THE ONE does have it's moments but it comes off as a low budget MATRIX sequel at times. Some of the action scenes could've been better and the plot could've used some more twists. THE ONE is good but not great.

Summary: Great Movie
Review: This movie was like the Matrix in special effects, fight scenes, and both are science fiction. The end was very unique in the sense that Jet Li was actually fighting himself. The martial arts footage is definitely shown very well with the special effects. What I thought was unusual was that the good Jet Li was able to eventually defeat the evil Jet Li but the evil one has super strength and speed. I really do not understand how the good one was able to win but thin again, it is just a movie.

Summary: No story, nothing spectacular about effects
Review: Whenever a star explodes, it creates a blackhole and ultimately a new parallel universe. Just imagine how many versions of your worst enemy actually exists. This concept of a MULTIVERSE never gets beyond the being mentioned stage. The whole idea is that a person's many versions exist in order to keep balance. But kill all those other versions off, the remaining version will become god-like--impossible to stop.
There is no real story here. Just a lot of Jet Li mumbling weak English and fighting himself (thanks to a computer). Ultimately nothing more than a HIGHLANDER rip-off "In the end there can be just ONE." THE ONE leaves room for many sequels. But hopefully, we won't actually see THE TWO, THE THREE, etc.

Summary: Two word describe this movie: AWE and SOME
Review: This movie has non-stop, edge of your seat action. I went into this movie hoping to be mildly entertained reading some of the other on-line reviews. I walked out of theater looking for my cell phone to call everyone I new to see this movie...it was great. The special effects were the best that I've seen in a long time. I am now a definite Jet Li fan. The scenes where he fights himself will go down in the special effects genius hall of fame. Well worth the wait in line to see this movie.

Summary: Amazing
Review: "The One" is Jet Li's best movie hands down. Even better than "Fist of Legend." No, it's true. It IS kind of like the Matrix in many ways: "Bullet Time," "Fast to slow motion." But, in my opinion, this movie has surpassed the Matrix visually and action wise. Don't let the PG-13 rating fool you, it has all the hand-to-hand combat that is in Jet Li's R-rated movies. Jet Li is the best marial artist ever, and all of his talent is shown here.

There are so many movies that have ripped off The Matrix. For example, "Charlies Angels." Really none of what they did was for a reason. They just did it to cash in on what The Matrix accomplished. "The One" on the other hand has a reason, and a good one at that. Whenever one of the Jet Li's dies, his power is split between the surviors, which in turn makes them stronger and faster.

The moment that made the movie the greatest of all Jet's movies was when Jet Li fought Jet Li. This was the shining moment that gave the audience what they wanted. 15-20 minutes of hard hitting, adrenaline pumping, visually stiulating action that you will ever see.

Please go see this movie. It is worth the money, and believe me, when it is finished you will want to see it again, and again, and again.

Summary: THE One Rocks
Review: Although there were alot of bad reviews for this movie i thought it was awesome. As far as the action goes it is jet li at his best. The scene where he is Fighting himself at the conclusion with two different wushu styles was one of the best fight scenes i've ever seen(in an american movie). Critics raved about the Matrix's gravity defying choreography, when Jet Li made it famous with his classics Once Upon A Time In China and Fong Sai Yuk. Jet Li is the man there is no other way to put it.

Summary: Don't Bother...
Review: People, People what are you thinking???
This movie is nothing to the Matrix, and never will be. "The One" is your average action flic nothing more, nothing less.
Jet Li is a fabulous fighter and the movie has some nice fighting scenes, but there wasn't a moment that made me catch my breath or make me want to jump out of my seat and start kicking butt! All in All the movie wasn't awful, but I don't think it merits 5 stars or the 7.50 I paid to get in.
If you are looking for an awesome martial arts flic go see Iron Monkey...Trust me that movie is worth the 7.50 and the 5 stars.

Summary: INTENSE ACTION!
Review: The most amazing fight sequences ever! I loved this movie. Although the plot seems to be borrowed from J.Michael Straczynski's " RISING STARS " - a definite must read that's in trade paperback now from IMAGE comics.
I anxiously await the SOUNDTRACK.
I'm definitely getting the DVD (...) !

Summary: ONE Short of a Great Movie
Review: Jet Li does his part and kicks butt but that couldn't help the movies' short length and crazed plot. "The One" was about how (Jet Li) travels through parallel universes to kill off his duplicates and gain their strength. He was successful until he met his last victim (Jet Li). The movie gets to the action and plot very quickly but there just wasnt't enough throughout. With regular humans trying to kill the almost invincible Jet Li, it seemed like the director didn't think the audience would figure out the humans would die. Then there was the love portion of the movie. A movie with Jet Li should stick to what he is good at; fighting. He is terrible when it comes to romance, I laugh when Jet Li tries to be romantic. It's like telling a golfer to play football; they don't mix. On the other hand, the special effects and extreme fight scences between Jet Li and his counter part, Jet Li, make up for the plot. Then again, the movie was just too short; 80 minutes long. I wasn't even finished eating my small bag of pocorn when the movie ended. Were the producer that desperate to get this movie out to theatres? Anyway, the movie keeps you on the edge of your seat while it lasts, even through the boring love scenes. My suggestion, see the movie, don't take a date with you, dand don't buy any snacks or drinks because it'll outlast the movie.

Summary: I watched the movie already
Review: About two months ago when I went to see "Planet of the Apes," I saw the trailer for "The One" and I was amazed and wanted to watch the movie ever since. Finally, the movie two days ago and I sacrificed my sleep time to watch it on Saturday night. It turned out to be terrible. There was a story line, but it wasn't developed at all. What I mean is that you can see that whole story right away and it becomes pointless. Also, the fighting scenes looked computerized (I think they're trying to look technical since the story's about different universe) and fake (since you can only see one of the Jet Li's face at a time). The movie was bad enough to motivate me to write this.
