Rating: Summary: Beware of Amazon.com review Review: As far as the film goes, Bond has had his day. He's been on a slow downhill slide ever since Sean Connery gave it up. It's time for a new action hero, and Vin Diesel is the man to play him. Whether or not the plot of this movie stands up to criticism (and really, how many Bond plots could stand up to serious criticism?), forget that and just enjoy the show!BEWARE of reading Amazon.com's editorial review of XXX, as it contains a major SPOILER [don't read this if you haven't seen the movie but think you might]: "Toss in a sulky, sultry Russian agent..." The information about her being a Russian agent is not given until at least half-way through the film.
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: "wow"...is all i can say about this movie. it's full of action and fun. love it, if i could, i would give it 100 stars! ps.vin diesel is HOT HOT HOT!
Rating: Summary: "So how long have you been a secret agent?" "Two days." Review: In 2002, Rob Cohen directed the action/adventure/thriller "XXX" starring Vin Diesel as the heavily tattooed, extreme sports enthusiast Xander Cage, who is recruited to become America's secret agent dubbed 'XXX' by Agent Augustus Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson). Agent Gibbons recruits Xander because no regularly trained agent has successfully managed to penetrate a group of Russian expatriates living in Praque, Czech Republic that call themselves "Anarchy-99" and may have access to Russian biological weapons. Having very little respect for authority and living in a subculture of extreme sports enthusiasts and anarchists, Xander appears to have all the necessary qualifications to penetrate "Anarchy-99". "Anarchy-99" is headed by the former Russian soldier Yorgi (Marton Csokas), who has a seemingly emotionless Russian woman, Yelena (Asia Argento), working for him. With practically non-stop action in almost every scene and a dash of heavy metal music, "XXX" is an entertaining film, though its videogame-style plot is predictable. Vin Diesel does come across as the smug, anarchist-turned-hero secret agent, but Marton Csokas is not convincing in his arch-villain role, nor is Asia Argento very good in her role. Unlike the James Bond films of the 1960's through the 1980's that tend to emphasize suspense over pure action, Rob Cohen and writer Rich Wilkes focused most of the film's 124 minutes on action sequences edited together with little character development in between. Some of the most memorable action sequences include the bridge, the trip to Columbia and the avalanche. The final action sequence was less realistic. Similarities with James Bond films include Rich Wilkes' answer to the popular James Bond character "Q" (usually played by Desmond Llewelyn, 1914-1999) with his own in the form of Agent Toby Lee Shavers (Michael Roof). The closing scene with Agent Gibbons trying to get a hold of the preoccupied Xander was very reminiscent of most James Bond films. The film's soundtrack includes such heavy metal songs as "Feuer Frei" by "Rammstein" (which appeared in the film's opening sequence), "Bodies" by "Drowning Pool" and "I Will Be Heard" by "Hatebreed". Other groups' songs that were included in the soundtrack include "N.E.R.D.", "Queens of the Stone Age" and "Moby". Overall, I rate "XXX" with 3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars. The film will probably be more entertaining with younger viewers than older viewers, but if you enjoy action films with a lot of action and little plot, you'll probably enjoy "XXX" a lot.
Rating: Summary: XXX Review: The problem with this tepid movie is Rob Cohen (the skateboarding fourteen year old teenager's favourite)he makes action films for for skipnot fans who don't shave and live in suburbia! If this movie was made for a more adult audience, it could have been good. As for Vin Disel, he is capable of much much more. Apart from Pitch Black and ElDiablo ( before it was turned into A Man Apart)he comes off as a member of The ATeam! The baddies are sterotyped euro trash with greasy hair in toe. In future Mr Disel should make R rated movies, period. 007 don't worry, don't worry at all, you are the best secret agent!
Rating: Summary: XXX it's not a porn Review: pretty good movie , don't listen to all the people that bad mouth this movie. I just like Asia argento the daughter of the famous Dario Argento the horror movie maker guy....yeah! She's the greatest in my eyes, call me blind but i like her.
Rating: Summary: ehhhh not bad Review: Call it what you will, it's an entertaining movie (the first time you see it). Especially towards the end. =)
Rating: Summary: XXX =ZZZZZZ Review: The only thing that kept me awake after the first 5 minutes was the sound.
Rating: Summary: It was alright the first time... Review: The second time sucked though. The movie has action for the first few parts, but then it slows to a crawl. The first 20 minutes or so of the movie are really boring. As soon as we learn about Anarchy 99, the movie slows down. Seriously, when the movie isn't in an action scene it is crap. I would write more, but I don't want to waste my time.
Rating: Summary: Vin Diesel ownes the screen! Review: Vin Diesel Rawks in XXX, the guy has charisma and cool by the bucketload. The actual plot, well it's your usual Bond type of stuff, nothing terribly original but things stay entertaining. Check out Rammstein's brilliant opening to the film, really gets things started with a bang bang.
Rating: Summary: Triple-X Action... Review: When Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), a extreme sport fanatic and political activist for extreme sports, is captured by the NSA he is offered two options by NSA Agent Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson): (1) To protect his country by collecting information, or (2) Go to jail. This is an easy choice for Xander, despite his unwillingness to cooperate. Xander is sent to Prague to infiltrate a group of thugs and find out what they are up to, and it leads Xander into an adrenaline rushing mission that includes several stunts that could cost him his life. XXX is a pure action film that offers one extreme trick after another, however, too much is not always the best thing and in this case it seems to be true that overkill can kill the thrill. In the end, the audience is offered a passable cinematic experience.
