Rating: Summary: Certainly Not as Good as the First, but not Half Bad Review: This was certainly a sequel, but it was nearly as bad as some sequels have been. I didn't find that this movie was as orginal as the first, but it was well written giving the movie the ability to draw a good crowd who could still enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Why is this happening again? Review: DIE HARD 2 is a sequel in every way: all the beloved characters from the first film return; the setting is bigger; the explosions are louder; there's more violence; the writing isn't as good; and much of the charm of the original film is missing. However, the movie doesn't pretend to be anything that it is not and is therefore rather enjoyable. Also, I did find this movie to have more humor and lame jokes than the first film did, but that is the only area where the film improves upon the original. Even in the wake of the era of terror that we now live in, this movie is enjoyable to watch because if nothing else it reminds us of what average citizens (whether cops or not) are capable of accomplishing in times of crisis.
Rating: Summary: Fast-paced follow-up fueled by thrills... Review: While not as original or inspired as the first, "Die Hard 2: Die Harder" is still an action-packed, slick movie with twists and turns fit for a roller-coaster ride of pure mayhem! Bruce Willis reprises his role as John McClane, this time in trouble at a Washington D.C. airport, where terrorists have taken the air traffic control captive. With McClane's wife on one of the stranded planes, our hero races to kick the butts of the bad guys once again! This is a worthy follow-up to the 80s hit film, with some cool action sequences and some pretty decent scripting.
Rating: Summary: great Review: its a good film lots of guns and people getting killed just like any die hard film dont miss it
Rating: Summary: DIE HARD 2--Die Harder And More Violently Review: In DIE HARD, Bruce Willis' character John McClane found himself having to battle a whole truckload of German terrorists in a Los Angeles skyscraper. Two years later, in the 1990 sequel DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER, he finds himself battling terrorists again, this time of a homegrown nature and in the nation's capitol, no less.Willis is awaiting the arrival of his wife's (Bonnie Bedelia) flight from Los Angeles at Washington's Dulles Airport on a night where a blizzard is battering a good part of the eastern seaboard. But while waiting, his well-oiled cop instincts get wind of some funny business involving Army mercenaries. As it turns out, Willis will be forced to fight once again. For these mercenaries, led by an extremely ruthless right-wing colonel (William Sadler) have now disabled the entire airport so that they may escort a deposed South American dictator (Franco Nero) whose anti-communist credentials apparently overshadow the fact that he was also a drug lord. And as had been the case in the first film, his D.C. counterparts, especially the incompetent airport cop played by Dennis Franz (of "NYPD Blue" fame), don't take him seriously enough. Thankfully, however, the top two men of the airport's air traffic control system (Fred Dalton Thompson; Art Evans) do. When a special Army detachment, led by John Amos, arrives on scene, it looks like things are starting to improve. But as Willis learns, Amos, while seeming to side with him during the various firefights with Sadler, Nero, and his men, is actually in league with Sadler, having been his commander at one point. Willis, however, manages to dispatch with the mercenaries just in the nick of time, as the planes circling overhead are beginning to run out of fuel, including Bedelia's. Utilzing certain characters from Roderick Thorp's 1979 novel "Nothing Lasts Forever" (the basis of the original DIE HARD), DIE HARD 2 is, however, mostly derived from Walter Wanger's tightly paced novel "58 Minutes." Under the direction of Renny Harlin, DIE HARD 2 has plenty of high action and suspense, a lot of explosions, and some self-effacing humor. Willis and Bedelia, of course, are as good as ever; so too are Thompson and Evans. But the same flaws that kept the original DIE HARD from being an out-and-out masterpiece are still here in DIE HARD 2: making the airport cops incompetent just to make Willis the hero of the piece; and making the media, as personified by the ever-obnoxious Dick Thornburg (William Atherton), into a bunch of blood-crazed hounds looking for The Big Story. These stereotypes didn't wash in the first film, and they still don't wash here. Blame for that must go to screenwriters Steven E. DeSouza and Doug Richardson. Also, this is a more violent film than the original; at least three scenes (the icepick to the eye; Amos being sucked into the engines of the would-be getaway cargo plane; the crash of a British jet) are fairly graphic, even bordering on extreme, in terms of violence. Still, one can do worse than DIE HARD 2. It still retains a great deal of panache, especially in light of the 9/11 attacks of 2001 (one of the hijacked flights that day originated at Dulles), and the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing (engineered by a young right-wing American fanatic). Again, it's not an unflawed work, but it is better than a lot of others in the testosterone-laden action genre.
Rating: Summary: Dies Hardest Review: This is a good movie but not as good as Die Hard and Die Hard with a Vengeance. This movie "Dies Hardest" of the series. All of the Actors acted great even though Reginald VelJohnson(Family Matters) was in the movie for only 2 minutes. Col. Stuart, Gen. Esperanza and Maj. Grant are great villians. Even though this is the weakest sequel of the Die Hard movies it is still cool.
Rating: Summary: Not short of action, thats for sure Review: Once again, we find our hard-core hero thrown into another entirely unbeleivable situation crammed with enough gunfights, explosions, wickedly evil terrorists, and foul language to last a lifetime in 2 hours. It is fun to watch as pretty much anyone will be entertained by it, but the plot is more of a repeat of the last one than anything else. This is probobly the worst of the three movies, but for most guys it is still worth a watch. An action-packed adrenaline rush that will leave you begging for more. (Plot that is) Keep it as far away from your kids as humanly possible, or you will spend your life savings in a week on soap washing their mouths out.
Rating: Summary: Big disapointment for Die Hard fans Review: This one was the worst of the series, even though it was pretty good. It was nothing surprising. I thought this was an okay movie, but could have been much better. It was too dark all the time, that was way unecessary. The other two are much more enlightning. Jon Maclean(Bruce Willis) in this one must stop terrorists from blowing up a plane his wife is on. He happens to talk to the cop that defended him and stood by him the 1st time. That's only for a few minutes of the movie, he did a good job in the 2 die hards he was in. Bruce Willis was outstanding though!! From the dumbest cop, to the smartest one, and the least suspected one to betray, it's a good movie! The worst of the Die Hards but still interesting, I liked it!!
Rating: Summary: Die Hard 2: Die Not-so hard Review: Renny Harlin directed this sequel to the immensely popular action flick Die Hard. While the 2nd instalment has it's moments, it's pretty much more of the same, as Bruce Willis gets back in sweaty vest mode as John McClane, with William Atherton. But this time around, the action, while impressive, isn't as cool as the first one, and the villains aren't as well written or interesting. Harlin's trademark over- the- top action is always present however, and this makes for some enjoyable action stunts and heroics. As action sequels go, it's good enough to satisfy fans of the franchise, and despite its faults, director Harlin (Cliffhanger, Deep Blue Sea) knows how to string together some impressive action scenes. The extras are good, with a commentary from Harlin, making of's, deleted scenes, trailers, visual effects 'making of's and some other cool stuff. A good film made better by the extras.
Rating: Summary: CRASH, BANG, WALLOP!!!!! Review: Die Hard was a good film but this is much better. The storyline is one which I'm sure most people would fear. YOUR AIRPORT BEING OVERRUN BY TERRORISTS. Bruce Willis plays the part just as he did in Die Hard, not much change for him. As for baddies, well they seem to be a slightly sicker group in Die Hard 2. William Sadler plays the evil Colonel Stuart perfectly. Hard faced, sadistic. He'd put you off flying for life, especially when seizing air traffic control of an incoming aircraft and lifting the ground level displays. The poor pilot has no chance when he think he's hundreds of feet higher from the ground only to crash into the concrete at 200 MPH, thus exploding along the runway. All SADLER can say is " That concludes our object lesson of the day"!! If you've not got this in your collection, I urge you to purchase now.
