Summary: Stop saying Matrix !!!
Review: Would you people stop saying stuff about the Matrix, please. It's hard enough to put that lousy movie out of my mind without everyone comparing everything to it. There were plenty of martial arts based movies with special effects before the Matrix, and every last one of them was better. So next time you see a character kick some one in slow motion, please, try and remember something else.

As for 'The One,' it's a very fun movie. It never takes itself too seriously and avoids insulting you. I really liked the same scenes played over again with the slight differences. And when the end of a movie is clearly just an excuse to have a long shot of Jet Li kicking serious butt, how can you go wrong?

To sum up; The One: very enjoyable. You: need to move on.

Summary: what?
Review: Okay, this movie looked cool. An action kung-fu movie mixed with science-fiction. And while I was watching it, I wasn't disappointed. Because it was incredibly hilarious.

This is a very, very bad film. This prisoner guy is about to be killed (for "illegal transfer between universes". Heh heh heh), but he flaps his face around and voila, he's in another universe.
So he goes to kill himself, but it's not him, it's the other guy, or was it him? And he liked bad music. Very bad music.

If you saw the movie and feel the same way about it I do, see "The Item". It's funnier.

Summary: "The One" is the best Jet Li film since "Romeo Must Die"!
Review: "The One" is a ground-breaking special effects extravaganza with twice the explosive action, twice the gravity-defying martial arts, and twice the Jet Li! "The One" calls the attention to Jet Li as Yulaw, a Multiverse agency renegade who has the ability to travel into alternate and parallel universes and grows stronger with every person that he kills. But for Yulaw to become "the one", he will have to face his ultimate challenge yet...himself! That's right! He faces against another Jet Li as Gabe, a police officer who leads a carefree life with his lovely wife (Carla Gugino, "Snake Eyes"). But Gabe's life is suddenly shattered when Yulaw enters the present world and attempts to kill Gabe off in order to be the last one standing...but not before two Multiverse agents (Delroy Lindo, Jason Statham) can stop Yulaw first. So, basically it's a fight to the death for both Gabe and the ruthless Yulaw. "The One" is the most action-packed, most entertaining Jet Li movie ever made since "Romeo Must Die", "Lethal Weapon 4", and "Kiss of the Dragon"! "The One" is definitely "the one" DVD you must own A.S.A.P.!

Summary: New kung fu styles in Holluwood
Review: Jet Li made history with this movie: for the first time someone used Hsing Yi and Ba Gua, two great fung fu styles (older brothers of famous Tai Chi). Jet Li also introduces himself as great master of those styles.
Movie itself is an average Science Fiction movie, an interesting idea of parallel worlds (they called it "multi-verse" instead of universe), there are 125 of them. I still havent figured out why filmmakers took this number. The only weak explanation for it, that I have, is that 5 times 5 times 5 is 125, and there are 5 basic elements in taoism. Most of the movie is logicaly well built, but there are no revolutionary inventions or ideas. There are few special effects that I liked, like to make a very fast fight scene and to show it in slow motion. It looks much more persuasive this way, but Jet Li is brilliant martial artist and he does not need special effects to impress.
I gave 5 stars mostly because Hsing Yi and Ba Gua, from artistic point of view, I would say 3.5 from 5

Summary: Hmmmm.
Review: This film uses a premise that is really cool. But it serves only as an elaborate backdrop for the action. Jet Li is an interesting actor. I did't really take him seriously until I saw Kiss of the Dragon. The idea that he actually has a wife that he cares for is unconvincing. On the other hand, this movie boasts some of the best action sequence special effects ever, like when he kicks 4 cops in the air before the first one hits the ground. Certainly a good rent.

Summary: After Kiss of the Dragon, this was dissapointing.
Review: Kiss of the Dragon turned out to be Jet Li's first respectable US film, that doesnt' skimp on the action, and holds true to what Li likes to show in his films. It was graphic but the fight scenes were fast, furious, and wire free. This movie HAD so much potential, it was the complete oppossite of KOTD but I thought it could show that Jet can also show that he can do wire-fighting thats alot more better then in his older films. It had alot of bullet time effects, and the movie had a nice shiny gloss on it that showed promise. Two Jet Li's fighting eachother, what could go wrong? Well how about an incredibly cheesy plot and horrible supporting actors. Jet Li needs good supporting acting because he's all stunts and has to make mean looking faces, so acting isn't his forty. It had it's moments, especially at the end battle when two Jet Li's battle it out with all these crazy effects going on, but over all it was a mess when you put it together and lacked any kind of substance to hold between action scenes. Without that, this was a pretty bad film in the end. I'd hate to say it, but it's at least good to see Jet Li still being his kick butt self, when Jackie Chan has to compromise so much of his real talent for American Cinema, but Jet Li is given more room to emulate his hong kong films. Thats a plus, but if you wanna see better Jet Li Films see Fist of Legend, The Enforcer, and KOTD.

Summary: Jet Li is the best!!
Review: Jet Li is the best martial artist there is, and The One shows you exactly why i think so. This is the best Jet Li movie out right now, in fact its my favorite action movie. The best part is not only the Jet Li vs Jet Li its in the begining when it shows Jet Li kill another Jet Li and beat the 'crud' out of like 10 police officers. The slow motion when Jet Li is in normal motion captures just how movies have evolved after the matrix. which ones better? The One is hands down no contest, its a must see for Jet Li fans!!

Summary: The One
Review: Excellent film, it's Highlander meets the Matrix.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best movie ever!
Review: An incredible martial arts movie, (easily comparable with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and far better with the fight scenes then in the matrix) And a must see for anyone that is a fan of martial arts movies, action movies, or incredible effects. I admitt I MIGHT be a bit biased because of my love of martial arts movies(especially Jet Li's) and Because of my love for the rhythem of a fight. This movie especially appeals in that the manipulation of time brings the fighters(both Jet)into a fight where there rhythems and speeds are continually fluctuating independent of one another... the result... by far my favorite movie.

P.S. I resent any rating given to it below 5 stars(well not really) and think everyone should see it.

Summary: The One: Better Than The Matrix
Review: The One is one of the best movies i have ever seen, it has great fighting, which is pretty much all it really needs. A lot of people i know have said the one is just a bad port of the matrix, but i believe that the one is totally in a league of its own. I mean, did keanu reeves ever fight himself in the matrix, (and who would have won). I think if you are an action die hard, this is the movie you must see. If you arent a jet li fan, i think this movie will make you one. I cant wait to own it on dvd.
