Rating: Summary: A non-stop action thriller Review: A team of scientists in Chicago have developed a new source of energy. Amist a government cover up the leader of the project is murdered and the lab is destroyed. Two of the scientists on the project, Eddie Kasalivich(Keanu Reeves) and Lily Sinclair (Rachel Weisz) are named as suspects and go on the run in a desperate attempt to uncover the conspiracy. Evading the F.B.I., local police and assasins they turn to the founder of the project Paul Shannon (Morgan Freeman) for help. But in a world of conspiracy and espionage who can be trusted?Chain Reaction is packed full of great action sequences. This film contains two of the best chase scenes I have ever seen and several great explosions. All of the roles were perfectly cast especially Morgan Freeman. The picture is perfect and the sound is great in DTS. The DVD is however lacking in options. It only contains trailers for Chain Reaction, Point Break, Unlawful Entry and Big Trouble In Little China. All in all a good DVD at a decent price.
Rating: Summary: Finally: A Movie about Free Energy Review: As one who is involved in the free energy field, and about ready to release a working technology to the world, I was delighted to see this movie. It portrays well that things are not as they seem, and that there are shadow conspiracies that at times run the show more than our own elected government does. To someone who doesn't believe in free energy, this movie might seem contrived and corny. But I will tell you that from the perspective of one who is immersed in it, and knows of viable technologies that are about to be released, the movie does a fantastic job in its portrayal of the dynamics involved. My critique of the movie would be of two things: the portrayal of the hydrogen reactor process, and of the scene where Reeves and Weisz get shot out of a mine shaft and then drop back down in on a cable. Any human being would have probably been killed, yet they didn't even have a broken bone or even a cut. Their hydrogen reactor looked like something from a decades old Frankenstein movie. It seems they could have been more convincing. They make hydrogen power look as though it will be enormously complex to extract. In reality, my hunch is that when we crack the secret it will not be that complex. Otherwise, it was a fantastic movie.

Rating: Summary: EXPLOSIVE! Review: Eddie Kasalivich(Keanu Reeves) and the beautiful Dr. Lily Sinclair(Rachel Weisz) are on the run. Everyone is after them. The cops, the F.B.I,and some very powerful investors involved in the deadly chase. Eddie and Lily are not murderes or thieves though, they are brillant scientists, who have been apparently framed for blowing up the lab they were working in,leaving their mentor dead. The scientists had been working on and finally discovered a new source of energy to help heat the world. After the lab is blown up Eddie is the only one left with the formula, and EVERYONE wants it! Who can they trust? They come to depend on their powerful backer of the project Shannon(Morgan Freeman). He will help bring them in, or will he? There is lots of action, explosions, intigue, cover ups, and some really great viusal effects. Morgan Freeman does a brillant job of keeping us guessing. The cast is rounded out by Fred Ward,Kevin Dunn, and Brian Cox. It is skillfully directed by Andrew Davis(The Fugitive). The DVD(20th Cent Fox) makes this film a pleasure to watch. It is a terrific transfer in Anamorphic widescreen. A great picture. Audio gives you the choice of DTS, 5.1 Surround or Stereo Surround, making it compatible with most systems. All the action and explosions look and sounds GREAT!. Not to much on the extras, if thats what you're looking for though. There are some trailers, and subtitles. Have fun with this one......Laurie.... P.S. Stay till the end of the credits!
Rating: Summary: Not half bad Review: I expected this movie to be awful. It wasn't. I guess it helps that I'm from Chicago and part of the movie takes place here. Even without that help, it's solid. Keanu Reeves gives his standard good-guy action performance. This movie is done be the same guys that did The Fugitive, and it shows. The movies have a lot of similarities. Rachel Weisz does an admirable job and Morgan Freeman is, well, Morgan Freeman. Always solid. Sure, there's some cheesy dialogue. But you know you're not going in to see Shakespeare. The sound quality of this DVD is excellent. Crank up the subwoofer for the explosions. Picture quality is also well-done. If you don't mind somewhat cheesy action movies, try checking this one out.

Rating: Summary: A Little Miss information..... Review: I realy enjoy this movie I watch it on a regular basis. Keanu made this movie before he saw the script for speed and decided it was not up to par, as he put it....and he was basically tired of running after doing this film and past on doing Speed 2. If you watch this movie for what it is entertainment....and if you are a fan of Keanu Reeves you will enjoy this movie.
Rating: Summary: Horrible Movie Review: I've never seen a worse movie, The cinematography was horrible, The dialogue was WEAK, and it had a horrible cast. The characters needed better development. Being a writer myself, I feel for whoever wrote this movie. . . It could have been good.

Rating: Summary: A complex suspense thriller! Review: Keanu Reeves stars along with Morgan Freeman in "Chain Reaction," a complex suspense thriller. "Chain Reaction" has a more complex plot line than your traditional action movie which basically involves a lot of explosions and chases. That's not to say that "Chain Reaction" doesn't have it's share. The action scenes in the middle of Chicago, the suspense on the bridge, as well as the scenes on Lake Geneva and at Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay. This is not to make lightly of the unique story -about a cleaner, cheaper energy that may or may not set off a worldwide economic recession. The contrasting ideas and motives of the FBI, CIA, and C-Systems keep you guessing about who's on your side. And what about Morgan Freeman?... Chain Reaction's action sequences and compelling plot make it a movie well worth watching multiple times. And although the DVD doesn't offer that many extra features, the DTS 5.1 Surround Sound is enough of a reason in its own right to get the DVD. You find your experiment going hay-wire, you find your team dead, and eight city Chicago blocks are blown up. Someone is trying to frame you.. Where do you go? Who do you trust?
