Rating: Summary: Jaws gets two thumbs up, WAY, WAY, WAY UP! Review: Jaws is the best movie ever! The first time I saw it I was 11, and I was terrified! I was crying, and I had to sleep in my mom's bed with her. I must have woken up ten times during the night because of nightmares! But when I finally woke up in the morning, I thought it was the best movie that I had ever seen. It is so amazingly scary, but don't worry, it is great. If you haven't seen it you are really missing out! See it!
Rating: Summary: EAR-SPLITTING! Review: WHEN I SAW THE BEGINNING OF THE FILM, I WAS SHAKING TO DEATH AND HID UNDER A PILLOW! I GOT USED TO THE BLOODY SHARK ATTACKS EVENTUALLY!
Rating: Summary: Better with age Review: When I was young, this movie simply scared me... when I was old enough to understand it, it intrigued me. I still get the chills when Robert Shaw (Quint) tells the tale of the USS Indianapolis. I'll never tire of this film.
Rating: Summary: About the theme... Review: This was one of the coolest movies I ever saw. Whoever composed the JAWS theme, should be given a hearty handshake and a medal. I got on the JAWS hompage once and I didn't know that the theme was going to blast me. When it did, my pulse went way up. Great job guys!!!
Rating: Summary: JAWS...The best ever ! Review: This movie is the greatest of all time. I agree that almost 25 years later the shaaak dosn't look as real as it did in '75 , but the writing and directing can not be equaled. A true American CLASSIC ! CLICK HERE FOR PROOF
Rating: Summary: Jawsome! Review: The letterbox version of this tape is outstanding. This is one of those films that keeps you mesmerized with its content and artistry, even after almost 25 years. This was no boating accident, it was not a drowning and it wasn't jack the ripper! While the Coast Gaurd checks out these waters, you should check out the letterbox verion of this tape.
Rating: Summary: THIS MOVIE SCARED THE BE-JESUS OUT OF ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: THE 1ST TIME I SAW THIS MOVIE I WOULD NOT GO INTO ANY KIND OF WATER (OCEAN,LAKE,POND OR EVEN A RIVER) FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS!!!! THIS WAS SO VERY RELISTIC, IT WAS THE BEST SCARY MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN.....EVER!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Truely, the best motion picture - ever Review: Jaws is a motion picture that was well ahead of it's time. The special effects displayed in this movie were not computer generated, but generated from the point of view of realism. In 1975 they still thought they could TRAIN a shark, and not create one. And yet, in cinematic history, the biggest money maker of 1975, there is a man made, larger than life sized shark - caught on film in the movie Jaws. A movie that went way over schedule, and way over budget, and yet was produced and emptied the beaches for the summer. Not a mindless horror movie, but an intricate psychological analysis of people and their environment. Not a movie of gore - but suspense and action! This movie, can never be replaced or topped. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER JAWS. Thanks to Benchley, Zanuck, Brown, Spielberg, Fields, Scheider, Shaw, Dreyfuss,Gary, Hamilton, Gottlieb, Mattey, Bruce, and ALL OTHERS INVOLVED- THANK YOU!
Rating: Summary: THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This movie is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Althogh there is one part that grossed me out & if you want to know then you will have to watch the movie and find out. After I had seen it $ the first time I was scared of going into the water alone without adult supervision. Now I am over that fear. There is a ride at Universal Studios and it is better then the movie after you see the first sean it will give you the creaps!!!
Rating: Summary: Scary. . .but sharks don't really act that way Review: Sharks have to be the most primal fear humans possess: we all have our origins in the water, and all possess memories (and fear) of that huge, toothy monster that could come finning along at any time and wreak havoc. That's why 'Jaws' touched so many chords. What a scary flick! The beginning scene, with the swimming girl being pulled down from the surface of the ocean by some unseen being; the little boy floating on a life raft being turned into a blood volcano; the two fishermen being dragged into the sea by the unseen menace. That said, Spielberg being Spielberg, we have the usual open-mouthed reaction shots; not-funny little jokes; and, of course, severed limbs (and a severed head. That severed head makes no sense. A marine biologist pushes his hand into a jagged hole in the side of a fishing boat and a severed head floats by. Yeah, right. What did the shark do--ram the boat and pull the fisherman out by his legs, chomping down on his neck and carrying everything away but his head? I doubt it!) And sharks don't act the way this shark did--like he was on some kind of vendetta. Also, the shark in the close-up scenes is very, very phony-looking. I wonder how many great whites met their demise at the hands of macho fishermen who had seen "Jaws" and thought they were doing the world a service? Too many, I'm sure. But all of that aside: this is a real jaw-clencher of a movie. Put aside your disbelief and enjoy. AND DON'T FISH FOR OR EAT SHARKS! Sharks are the oldest, most beautiful, most perfect creatures in the ocean (besides the jellyfish and sponges) and deserve our respect, not our fear.
