Review: Just the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. The whole plot is not even funny is just lousy. I think I could do a better job filming a dark, heavy metal soundtrack, jumping and shooting rubber bullets with my 2 year old daughter than this! Please, if you are even thinking of buying this DVD, spare the money with someone who really needs it!

Summary: Not the best flick, but definitely not the worst
Review: I've been wanting to see this movie for the longest time and I ended up missing it in the theaters. When it was released on DVD, I made a special trip out of my way to grab this movie. I was excited to see that Antonio and Lucy were going to square off against each other in an action film. Both of these film stars had excellent presence in previous action films (Desperado, Charlie's Angels) and I was looking forward to more of that presence. Unfortunately, both of these talented icons couldn't really save the film. I've read some of the other reviews and I must say that the bashers kinda exaggerate the films weak points. I can also agree with them by saying that it's not one that I would watch over and over.In defense of this mediocre movie is that this was Kaos's first US film and he still retained a lot of the foreign action film ways. We all know the characteristics of these movies, a 9mm hand gun capable of firing 300 bullets in one scene without the protagonist or antagonist reloading, a standoff where a character can wipe out an entire army of trained combat personnel without suffering one wound and only taking one punch and last but not least is the famous foreign action film plot of a shady protagonist either looking for revenge or redemption and getting mixed up in a far fetched, poorly written plot. I believe that when people saw the "ECKS VS SEVER" title, they thought 'Wow! those two are going to square off?! I gotta see this! Admit it because I was one of those people. It didn't turn out quite like that and it shouldn't have earned the name of this movie that subtitle. Bashers also said that the movie's story line was hard to follow and that there was a 30 minute flashback. If these same awesome film critics can't follow this story line, then they probably need to shut up during the movie. And as for the so called 30 minute flashback, you may have confused this movie with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Basically, 3 weak character storylines came together, rather weakly. Also you need to ask yourself 'what do you go and see action movies for?' Explosions, fight scenes, gun play and if you're lucky, scantily clad women. Ballistic had all but the last. I guess I could compare the strength of the storyline to that of Starship Troopers, incomplete. This is what I saw in the movie to wrap up this review: lots of slow mo', but not too much (John Woo) that it literally slows the pace of the movie (Mission Impossible 2), Decent fight scenes (The last is always the best), weak plot(but not as bad as Universal Soldier 2. Have any of you seen that garbage?!), nice stunts if you can suspend your disbelief a tad, and hot women. And to reiterate my previous point, the things I just listed are the exact reason why we go to see action movies! For the bashers, why don't you just curl up with your significant other and watch Chocolat if you want Oscar winning performances?

Review: This was a good movie. They needed a better plot and to speak a little louder. Also Antonio Banderes needs a comb! His hair was in his face the whole movie. The action was good and Lucy Liu was awsome. I bought this with the Adventures of Pluto Nash wich was also really good. Go rent this movie.

Summary: 30 minutes of Ecks vs Sever
Review: I will give this movie based on its actors which I really wanted more from this rating. It starts great as Ecks vs Sever. By the time we are half way through they are almost teamed. This movies plot suffered from this. Do away with the wife sceanrio and they could have played the VS thing all the way through. Lisa is awesome and ballistic and I would have givin it higher just on her alone. But her character suffers not enough to make Ecks suffer. This ending leaves open her next movie just as Sever!!

Review: First off, this movie wasn't as bad as people has been saying. The reviews of this movie can seem to be very misleading but at the same time, this film is not what i expected. Yes there is plenty of action and explosions and fighting but they are all bland. This movie has very bad editing. Lucy Liu's fighting sequences is very basic and boring. It's ok to watch once, most likely you will make fun of it, but it is a movie that i don't want to watch again. I was really hoping this movie will be rigth up my alley since i love action movies with cinematic scenes and unforgetable moments. Sorry...skip this one. One more thing, Antonio Banderas looks really stressed out throughout the whole movie.

Summary: A few decent action scenes can't save this film
Review: I had the so-called "privelage" to see 'Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever' without paying. My friend rented it and told me to come watch it with him. He knew nothing about it, except that it was an action film. After all the things I've heard about it, I was skeptical. However, I had nothing else to do until that night, so I decided to watch it. A movie with wall-to-wall action might not be so bad. Oh how wrong I was.'Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever' is just a mess. I see no point in the versus part of the title, as they aren't really fighting each other. Antonio Banderas is barely heard in his lines, as he only mumbles. Lucy Liu is almost the opposite: She had no lines. There is no story, absolutely none. A movie with wall-to-wall action might have been better than a horrible story with action. Whoever beleives there's a story in this movie, it goes a little something like this: Ecks is hired by an old friend to track down Agent Sever, a DIA killer on the loose. However, Sever is not Ecks' enemy, and must also find the husband of his so-called 'deceased' wife, who is the bad guy. Ecks and Sever want this 'Micro-device' but it's but we never really find out until the end where it actually is. And no one cares. Besides, the plot is just an excuse to have the explosions and action start. In a movie with so-called so much action, all the action is only explosions. A motorcycle chase was okay, and a sequence of gunfights between different Agents and Sever is really idiotic fun. But the action is overshadowed by the horrible story that most of the film is just about two dumb people talking to each other. I give two stars to 'Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever' for the action scenes. I give no stars to the story, because there isn't one. Goodness, you might as well watch a Steven Seagal film. It's much more fun than Ballistic. Rent it if you want, but go see some recent action movies with an actual story like Die Another Day. Heck, even see xXx. That's actually some fun.

Summary: A good way to spend 90 minutes of your time!
Review: i enjoyed this movie alot. it was kind of like "the transporter" but not as good. this one was good, but it could have been better. the plot gets stupid at some points leaving unanswered questions and holes, but its good entertainment, the action is applenty in 2.35:1 widescreen and the music is loud and ear-splitting in glorious 5.1 Dolby Digital surround. the dvd isn't much to talk about, the only good feature is the trailer and a documentary, but i suggest you skip the game, because it is very boring and a WASTE of TIME! the movie is pretty good though. I won't bother explaining the plot, but the movie is very very cool, action wise! Check it out, especially on DVD! Movie: 3.5/5

And the soundtrack is fantastic!
Being a harsh critic myself, I was somewhat surprised to see all of the negative (1 star reviews). Whatever... If you're a Lucy Liu fan and enjoy non-cerebral action movies with great music, well then perhaps you will be one of the few (like me) who saw it twice and want to see it again. If you want to get the music CD, go for the "original score" version.
It's better than the "soundtrack" version. Enjoy!

Review: This movie is so bad, that its bad. It [was] so badly I wanted to walk out of the theatre. I had no empathy for any of the characters. The plot was very rote, the story mechanical, the actors didn't even look like they were buying it either. I was so embarassed to see Antonio Banderas and Lucy in this. It [was] so bad... it should go in a blackhole. Really, I can't say enough bad things about it. Don't buy it, save your money for something else, you'll be glad you did. If you really need to see it, rent it. Man, what I'd give to have the money and 90 minutes I spent on this movie back.

Summary: Why do people attack this movie?
Review: First off, let me state that I loved this movie. I saw it as soon as it came to my local cinema, and I enjoyed myself the whole time. It's meant to be fun. It's not supposed to have a wonderfully complex movie, it's not about dramatic speeches and witty dialouge. It is about having fun. I'm getting sick of people attacking this movie. But if you like ACTION and EXPLOSIONS, I can assure you that you will love this movie. And personally, I'm really looking forward to anoth Kaos movie. He understands the term ACTION. Oh, and by the way, the title is correct. I don't know why the editorial review said otherwise, but Ecks is led to believe that Sever has information about his wife's death. So, there you have. This movie ROCKS!
