Summary: It's About TIME!!!!Finally on DVD!
Review: Since buying a DVD player 2.5 years ago I have been dutifully checking Amazon.com to see if/when this film would be released on DVD. If ever there was a high adventure film that was made for the clarity of DVD, this one is it! I can only imagine what the sky diving scenes will be like in this format. I absolutely adore the VHS version of this film, and simply can't wait until I can view (and Hear) it on DVD. Kudos to Fox/CBS for Finally releasing it in this format. I suggest that Amazon put this in the top ten of "New Releases", you'll be amazed at the orders you get! Thanks Amazon, you've come thru again

Summary: Fun & Hot
Review: If you like Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, and can allowyourself to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy same in varieties of undress & wet suits, you will like this movie! I'll never understand why someone always has to be called "Johnny" in these movies, and all of Swayze's compadres offer nothing but distracting cannon fodder, but there are some really enjoyable moments: (1) Keanu doing his impression of himself as Ted Logan w/ surfboard in hand, (2) all the heros' interactions with the uptight FBI AIC:;, and (3) the still-waters-run-deep eruption into anger when Keanu realizes his girlfriend is in trouble & he can't help it (see the same look on his face as when Dennis Hopper has Sandra Bullock wired with explosives in "Speed"). There are also quintessential iterations of tried-and-true movie formulas (1) the not unmoving Florence Nightingale scene (Lori Petty swabbing Keanu's beaten brow), (2) the nobly injured hero a la every Mel Gibson movie (Keanu's messed-up knee), (3) the hero chasing moving cars on foot (again a favorite of Gibson), (4) classic dialogue about "adrenaline", (5) dumb euphemisms for "I love you." In all, it's a great, beachy, fun film, and Keanu and Swayze are both plenty hot to keep it interesting. END

Summary: Did I See The Same Movie?
Review: I'll go out on a limb here as probably the ONLY person who totally loathed this movie. Let's see...it was annoyingly predictable from beginning to end, poorly acted--and that's saying something for Keanu Reeves, and the "action" sequences, if they can be called that, were uninspiring at best. I'm not sure where all the described adrenalin rushes were coming from, but you'd have to be painfully wound up already to get them from this flick. About the only redeeming thing about his picture(if you're a woman, anyway)is seeing Mr. Reeves looking fairly buff. The only reason I give this a star at all is because you can't get out of the review field without one. This isn't a good "bad" movie, it's just plain bad.

Summary: Excellent movie
Review: Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey are the main actors in this movie and all of them are excellent in their roles. This movie has it all, bank robberies, Car chases, Sky Diving, Fist fights, surfing and a little bit of romance....you name it, its in there..and its fast paced. This is one of Keanu's best movies to date and one of my favorites. I highly recommend this movie! It is excellent.

Summary: Moves Fast
Review: This film is lightweight as far as story is concerned. Much of the romantic situation and dialogue reveal the gender of the director, especially regarding the reference to testosterone. But it's adrenalin that keeps pumping in this movie with some terrific skydiving sequences and some realy great chase scenes -- on foot! Very few dull moments overall. I was anxiously awaiting its arrival in the DVD format, but thanks to the Amazon customer reviews, I won't buy it. This business of making a film appear to be "wide scree" by lopping off information at the top and bottom is ridiculous. I will wait until it gets released in its proper ratio.

Summary: Great Escapism
Review: I'll see a movie repeatedly if I like it, and this one's the winner for times viewed. It's fun, it's beautiful, and the surfing and skydiving scenes are extraordinary. Keanu Reeves is fabulous in it (his first action film), and he looks like a god that's come down from Mt.Olympus to give us ladies a glimpse of the real deal. This bank heist caper shouldn't be taken too seriously...just relax and enjoy it..over and over again ! And for Keanu collectors, it should be one of the first on your list to own !

Summary: Fast-paced action suspenser
Review: The plot revolves around an undercover FBI agent who infiltrates a group of surgers and skydivers believed to be responsible for a series of bank robberies. The film contains some attractive locales, a great deal of masculine posturing, some fast-paced action and one hair-raising, unforgettable foot-chase sequence. The use of a hand-held camera (which reflects the unrest and tension of the situations and characters) creates a suitably gritty effect. Smartly directed, it is also enlivened by a touch of humour (the robbers enter every bank wearing the masks of Presidents; one robber, brandishing a gun, exits the bank and cries out at the cowering hostages, "Don't forget to vote!")

Summary: Keanu - OH MY!
Review: This movie was very entertaining, very action-packed and with Keanu in it, it could be 120 minutes of him smiling at the camera and I'd give it five stars !
