Summary: Pure Stupidity
Review: This is the worst action movie ever made, with the destroying of good actors like Gary Busey & Tommy Lee Jones who usual great actors in movies but they come off as lame, this rediculous action movie, where Steven Seagal doesn't get injured, it's just bufoon going doing killing that has no plot & even worst acting,it's more like a comdedy than an action movie if you think hard enough about it

Review: i really liked this seagal flick i think its one of his best. His dry humor worked perfectly in this movie , if he turned out more movies like this one he would be a house hold name. The adition of gary bussey and tommy lee jones were great villans, over the top and very cool. Seagal plays a cook/ ex navy seal, and tommy lee and bussey plays terrorists, bussey is sort of the serious no nonsense type , and tommy lee is more the hippy type/lunatic.
The scenes of the battleship were amazing, i like this flick because its not ALL about seagal like his other movies usually focusing on him an leavin the movie to follow. There are some cool scenes with tommy lee and bussey in this one you feel seagal is in the movie as opposed to seagal an then the movie.The action is of course great , seagal is in top form in this one showing of he really is a martial arts master, the best fight scenes are of seagal an tommy lee mixing it up with knives in the films finale, truly amazing becuz tommy lee actually holds his own against seagal . Over all a great action movie i only wish the sequel was as good.

Summary: Guilty pleasure is right!
Review: As a card-carrying feminist, I have no business liking this movie at all, let alone keeping it active on my TiVo so I can dip into it now and again. So, why? Well, the over-the-top silliness of Gary Busey and Tommie Lee Jones is a big reason. Seagal's own acting style is so minimalist (he doesn't ACT in the usual meaning of that word!) that the movie needs Busey and Jones to go over the top, and they deliver. The direction/editing are fine for an action flick; none of the payoff sequences drags on a moment too long. And the script isn't nearly as stupid as one might expect; there's even occasional flashes of wit (Seagal, to the complaining Eleniak: "I thought you were all for equal rights for women." Eleniak: "Only when it benefits me.") I actually waited with some anticipation for Under Siege II, but was sorely disappointed; that one lacks the pacing and fun of the original.

Review: Despite popular belief, this isn't the big man's best movie. Competent and skilful it may well be but there's far too much espionage and not enough action. It was made in that period of the early to mid-nineties where every action movie was 'Terrorists take over a (fill in the blank)'. In this case it's a Naval Battleship.
Gary Busey, always one of the best bad guys ever, is the evil second in command who hates his crew and his captain. But the person he hates most in the entire world is the obnoxious cook Casey Ryback. Well he's an ex-Navy SEAL first and a cook second.
Enter William Strannix (Tommy Lee Jones) and his band of mercenaries, disguised as a rockstar and busboys, who take over the ship, kill the captain and lock what's left of the crew away. Strannix is hell-bent on blowing up Hawaii and Krill (Gary Busey) plans to sell off the ships nuclear weapons to the Ruskies.
But wait...Krill has forgotten about the irritating cook he locked away in the freezer. And Ryback makes it his mission to find out what the hell is going on and put a stop to whatever it is. Erika Eleniak pops up to provide some help and toplessness.
I'm not such a fan of the first Under Siege, the sequel is much, much better but they both have their pros and cons. For some reason, Ryback's renegade, rule-breaking personality was played down in Under Siege 2 and Seagal made NO effort at his acting in that film (he hated the idea of a sequel). However Under Siege 2 is much faster, has 50 times as much action, is way more exciting, has a higher sense of escapism and atmosphere (compared to the repetitive battleship scenes in this one) and has better villains.
I know you'll disagree with me on the last point. But Strannix and Krill seem too over the top and seem to be acting up to the camera compared to the sequel with Travis Dane's wild eccentrics and Penn's icy, emotionless stare. Plus, Strannix's constant Looney Tunes references were totally out of place and distracting.
Well all know Steven Seagal is good with the martial arts, so it's kind of odd that he simply shoots most of the bad guys in this movie. In Under Siege 2 he chops, slices, breaks, burns, chucks, slashes, strangles, explodes, smashes and crushes. It makes for a great movie is definitely the clear winner over this one.
The DVD has a great looking 1.85:1 anamorphic picture with a loud and impressive Dolby 5.1 track. 8 trailers for Steven Seagal films are included. The R1 version still comes in a cruddy snapcase but the R2 version now comes in a sturdy keepcase, complete with lovely Warner hologram. If you have a multi-region DVD player, get this one.

Summary: have to set this guy straight
Review: has this guy even seen the film he's reviewing? as for seagal never being harmed by the bad guy I point you to the scene where he is HOOKED WITH A GRAPLING HOOK! or a slightly older movie(hard to kill) you may not have seen in which he was SHOT AT CLOSE RANGE WITH A SHOTGUN AND PUT IN A COMA! or in yet another seagal early film (above the law) in which he was strapped down in a chair and BEATEN!This is another example of someone hating on an actor, an actor whose movies he has never bothered to see.

At least Clint Eastwood had to survive a hanging and some pig slop thrown back at him in his career.
But Seagal's giant ridiculous ego will not tolerate him to be even graized by a bad guy.
Seagal sees himself as a god because Seagal, deep down, is stupendously insecure, just like any blustering bully on the block.
Get over it, this man and his onscreen invincibility is as believable as a cartoon at this point. No, I take that back, even Tom managed to hit Jerry back once in a while.
