Rating: Summary: Willis at his best Review: I have seen many Bruce Willis movies, and this tops them all. His next best was Die Hard2: Die Harder. The action scenes were nice, and some hilariuos jokes.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Romp! Review: I'm usually not into this genre, but when I saw this movie I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Bruce Willis is always worth the price of admission, and Alan Rickman's performance is one of the things that take this movie beyond the "just-another action flick" category. Definitely worth a prominent place on your video shelf.
Rating: Summary: Check Your Brain at the Door and Have Fun! Review: Remarkably fun idea for an action picture. So many things work so well in this story: Willis is perfect as a cop with a "just-like-you-and-me" persona; the relationships are solid and believeable; the twists and turns in the plotting flow smoothly; the story itself is interesting and the cast performs with style and great assembly. There are times when the action overrides common sense and logic - Willis plummeting down a shaft and grabbing hold of an air vent with his finger-tips (no way) and the magical resurrection of a villian who should have been dead from a crushed wind pipe cause by hanging by the neck from industrial chain! That's why I say check your brain at the door, cause the film is too much fun to let this damage it! I have a personal list of all time Top Ten Legendary Screen Villians and Alan Rickman is on it! He is nothing short of memorable in this. And a tip of my hat to the screenwriters for inserting a sad tale in the center of this film and coupling it with the growing relationship of two comrades-in-arms that winds up making for a resounding finale involving Reginald Vel Johnson's L.A. cop character - tremendous! My one complaint (which is common to most contemporary movies) is the excessive use of gutter language. This film is no exception and it saddens me when a screenwriter exchanges vulgarism for dialogue. The latter is far more expressive if you'll just take the time. Nevertheless, this is one film to keep you entertained and cheering all the way through. Go ahead, take the ride!
Rating: Summary: The best action movie ever! Review: Simply THE best action movie ever made, it rightly made Bruce Willis a star (although if you've seen Armageddon you'll realise he's past it nowadays). Not a single character is wasted, from the limo driver to the ill-fated FBI guys, the dialogue is sharp and kicking, the action tense and non-stop. Never bad-mouth this film, 'cos you know you'd be lying.
Rating: Summary: Happy Trails Hans Review: This movie is the greatist. I rank it over US Marshals. The most action-packed movie I've seen,it was suggested by a friend so I watched it and now own it. Watch it and If you like it Buy it.
Rating: Summary: Die Hard Is The Best! Review: This movie is action packed, almost no scene without it. A friend suggested it, so I watched it and now own it. It is my favorite over Mercury Rising!
Rating: Summary: classics of action movies Review: if you watch movies with glitches, if you don't own DIE HARD, if you think there are no classes of action movies, and if you think you can't smell rosesYOU NEED A LIFE!!!Die Hard is a flawless action movie, that set a standerd for good action movies.Die Hard is to die hard for. one of my best friend watches this movie as his part of the religion,a religious experience with DIE HARD and the Jashua Tree by U2.watch it four times, you will watch the cinematographer shooting carefully every shot as if walking on millions of broken glass pieces
Rating: Summary: Welcome to the party, pal! Review: Wowzers! This movie is so great! If it weren't for Face/Off, I would DEFINETELY consider this to be the best action movie of all time, but they are both tied, I guess. This is pretty much the role Bruce Willis was intended to play. There could not be another John McClane. This is pretty much the first type of action film about one guy vs. all the bad guys. It's pretty impressive to know that John McTiernan didn't copy off of anybody cause there was never a film like this made before this time (at least I think), and he does a pretty impressive job. Whoever saw this back in 1988 must have been blown away cause it's just as good, if not better, than any action movie of today. GREAT FLICK!!! BUY IT!!!
Rating: Summary: Duh Hard Review: I thougth the movie was highly overrated. Here are the worst things about the movie: 1) Bruce Willis is in it. 2) It made Bruce Willis famous. 3) It's too long. 4) It's so predictable. 5) Bruce Willis tries to act (I think; It's hard to tell)
Rating: Summary: Best action movie ever!! Review: There maybe better movies out there but this is my favorite movie of all time. The action is the best, and you will love Bruce Willis as John McClaine. This movie started those hostage take over wannabe's like "Speed." The sound is totally awesome and just everything about this movie is fun and entertaining!!
