Rating: Summary: Die Hard With A Vengeance (Third addition to saga) Review: Bruce Willis, Jeremy Irons, and Samuel L. Jackson star in the third installment of the successful "Die Hard" saga. New York detective John McClane (Bruce Willis) has finally returned home to the Big Apple and has settled back into his big-city crime-stopping life. Then Simon Gruber (Jeremy Irons), also named Peter Krieg, comes to Manhattan, and this time its "with a vengeance", seeking revenge from the man that killed his brother Hans in the original "Die Hard", McClane. This time he's brought himself a whole load of bombs, and he's planted them all over the city. After being kicked off the police force, McClane teams up with a civilian, Zues Carver (Samuel L. Jackson), in a desperate try to stop the man seeking vengeance for his terrorist brother's death and turning New York City into burned French toast. There is to me only one down side to this action-packed adventure: after an improvement in his marriage with Holly Gennaro, he is divorced in this film. Why after so much improvement? But that doesn't stop this awesome thriller from getting a good rating from me. This is a good piece of material from original "Die Hard" director John McTiernan.
Rating: Summary: Fun with a Vengeance Review: Action star Bruce Willis returns for another action-packed ride in the wildly entertaining sequel "Die Hard with a Vengeance". A dangerous criminal mastermind named Simon (Jeremy Irons) threatens New York City and forces heroic NYPD Detective John McClane (Willis) to a dangerous game of "Cat and Mouse" through the streets of the city. With the help of an unfortunate partner (Samuel L. Jackson), McClane struggles to find the location of Simon's next terrorist act. "Die Hard with a Vengeance" is the disappointing third installment of the popular action-packed series. The storyline was poorly developed and loses its pacing early into film. Bruce Willis delivers plenty of excitement and humor, but his character seems exhausted. The chemistry between Willis and Jackson is outstanding and offers some funny verbal banter and situations. Like its previews installments, the film features some thrilling action sequences including a wild cab ride through New York City and a groundbreaking subway explosion. The film is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen format. The DVD contains a colorful video transfer with noticeable enhancement flaws, and a poorly remastered 5.1 Dolby Digital sound. Its supplemental material features a short behind-the-scene featurette, series trailers and a photo gallery. With such a poor DVD presentation and weak extras, "Die Hard with a Vengeance" is a disappointing DVD and scores a "C".
Rating: Summary: Good action / fair story Review: Good action, but the story was lacking. And what was with the whole black/white thing? Totally unnecessary and out of place. A joke or two would have been acceptable but they ran it into the ground. Save the social issues for films like 'American History X'.
Rating: Summary: it was o.k. but,not as good like the first one! Review: Die hard with a vengance is brobably a good movie to other people but I didn't think so.But, if you want to buy the movie be my guest but,if you have friends that have seen the movie ask them about it.If you want to see the best Die hard, rent or buy the first Die hard!
Rating: Summary: MASTERPIECE Review: One of the greatest action movies I have ever seen. The best one in the entire trilogy. An excellent movie by all measures.
Rating: Summary: Amazing casting. Jeremy Irons is amazing in this film Review: The plot and sub plot is true die hard style. The coolcalculated guise of the American German of 'Bob Tops' (Iorns) is amust see.
Rating: Summary: John McTierman returns. Review: Possibly the most inventive of the series, this is white-knuckle nonstop action. This time Brit star Jeremy Irons is the badguy, Peter Gruber, who is Hans Grubers brother. Mclaine has split up with Holly, and has Peter after him to avenge his brothers death. Samuel L Jackson is Harlem shopkeeper Zeus Craver, who rescues Mclaine from a tight spot. This has an ingenios[sorry for the spelling] story where Peter is playing a deadly game of Simon Says with Mclaine while planting bombs [some fraud]around the city, and while he's at it robbing Fort Knox[Phew!]. This has lots of action, and dwarves DIE HARD2[which I also reccomend]. This film has to be seen to be seen to be believed,so go watch it. P.A.B 10
Rating: Summary: Great film, horrible DVD Review: I won't spend any time talking about the film. Everyone else on here who says that is is a good film is correct. The DVD however is one of the worst I've ever seen. Whoever mastered it turned the edge enhancement up way too much. You see it the minute the Fox trailer comes on the screen everything looks too pixelated. The outdoor seens are by far the worst, everything appears grainy and artifacts are made more apparent. The indoor scenes are bad, but barable. Nothing like the ugliness that occurs everytime McClane steps outside. I have this film on LaserDisc also, and I guess I would rather watch the DVD because there is less chroma noise and the colors are better, but it is close. This is a good film and it deserves a better treatment than this. Come on Fox, get with the program. One more thing. This damn thing has the default sound in 2-channel, not 5.1. I hate that.
Rating: Summary: The Best of the Best Review: The third installment of the Die Hard Trilogy, Die Hard: With a Vengeance, is by far the best one. Bruce Willis takes his charecter to whole new hights, with the help of a great performance by Samuel L. Jackson. The main reason why this is the best one of the Trilogy, is simple answer, it doesn't rely too heavily on the action. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of action, but the story line is just short of being absolutley phenomenal. From the opening credits, to the closing ones, you will be wound up in this blood bath from the first shots until the final "Yippie Kay Yea ******." The movie is just the best Die Hard to date, in fact, it is the best action movie too.
