Summary: Great Action Movie!
Review: This movie is a great combination of action and plot.It has great action sequences and John Travolta is great as Dekins.Christian Slater is also good, but Travolta steals the show!I think this is one of Woo's best!If you like this I reccomend Woo's other action epics-Face Off,and The Killer.

Summary: Brilliant action packed film
Review: if you into hi tech action movies this is quite good

Summary: Not a whole lot of fun.
Review: Okay, I know John Woo made an action film that's meant to be typical summer entertainment, which means leave your brain at the door and watch for purely for the action scenes, but it's still a distracting movie on that level. The action scenes are occasionally stilted. Sometimes, they're good (the car chase) and sometimes downright bad (train finale, need I say more). John Woo is a brilliant director in his own right, but he disappoints here. Luckily, each of his films in American release have been getting significantly better (M:I-2 is incredibly entertaining and Face/Off has some great shootouts). Even then if you enjoy the action scenes in Broken Arrow, who can forget the cheesy lines of dialogue which are meant to be humorous but end up sounding downright painful. What about the special effects, which look cheesy half the time? There's too much wrong with this already dumb action/thriller. I really recommending avoiding it.

Summary: Action? Yes. Reality? You've GOT to be kidding!
Review: I have to agree with "Freelancing" when he says, "... The whole premise is absolutely moronic to begin with... but even putting the preposterousness of the story aside, the behavior of the actors is over-acted, cheesy and just plain stupid. ... There are some folks who will listen to pulsing, loud rap music simply because of the way it makes their woofers throb in their car, not really caring for the song or the lyrics... such is the appeal of this film.. scattered smatterings of eye-candy explosions hither and yon, and not much else."

There are a lot films out there which take broad license with the military, its security procedures and flight tactics. Top Gun did it, but in a much more limited and believable way. I must admit, a four g inverted dive, canopy to canopy with a Mig does push the truth limits. Even Chuck Yeager balked at that one.

However even with those flaws, which are major ones for former military pilots, Broken Arrow's plot and acting can't pull it together. They compete with one other for last position on the excellence scale.

In my opinion, Travolta is a great actor, but he didn't serve himself or his fans well with this role. If you just want something to dazzle your eyes and pulsate your eardrums while you eat that extra large buttered popcorn, go ahead, buy it. Actually, I'd suggest renting it ... that should satisfy your sensory hunger, at a lower cost.

If you're serious about your action movies, don't fly formation with this one.

Summary: A Spellbinding Movie!
Review: There is but one way to describe this movie. Outstanding and breathtaking. There is never a dull moment in this movie. John Travolta does an outstanding job portraying a villain. Christain Slater plays the role of the hero just as well. The character that is played by Travolta literally steals some nuclear warheads with the evil intentions of making a profit. It becomes the duty of Slater to apprehend the bad guy. There is an exciting chase across the country that will keep you on the edge of your seat. One of the nuclear devices is actually detonated. After a scary chase there is an exciting conclusion to the movie. This is one of the better movies that you will view. Be sure not to miss it.

Summary: Fun for action fans!
Review: Fer cryin' out loud ... when did it become a faux pas to have *fun* at the movies? "Broken Arrow" won't win any Academy Awards, but it's non-stop action, fun and a little hey-we're-in-this-together-and-if-we-survive-we're-gonna-have-to-go-out-on-a-date romance (isn't this standard fare for action movies?) ...

Poor Christian Slater ... c'mon folks give him a break ... This was one of the first movies where I really started to *like* the guy (check out "Hard Rain") ... He does an excellent job as an Air Force pilot ... John Travolta plays over-the-top as usual ... ummm, is anybody surprised by this after "Welcome Back Kotter" and "Saturday Night Fever"? Howie Long? Hey, he's a football player and sportscaster ... Bob Gunton is a bad guy here, much like his bad guy in "The Glimmer Man" ...

The film is typical John Woo fare ... lotsa slow-mo action scenes ("Hard Target" etc.) ... now there are a few technical errors ... and the B-3 bomber (that's not a typo) has room for a living room sofa in the cockpit ... the control stick in the B-3 is suitable for a midget ... the B-83 nuclear bombs do have the frangible impact nose represented in most drawings and pictures, but they're a little small compared to the statistics of real nukes (reported to be several thousand pounds) ... but the underground nuclear blast sequences were pretty good ...

Fortunately, Travolta's high-tech mercenary buddies are terribly inept, allowing Slater and his new park-ranger friend to overcome their terrible plan ... Nice cinematography in more than a few places ... and a bit of CGI because there are crashes and explosions galore ...

And there's some fun stuff ... George Costanza's (Seinfeld) boss, Kruger (Daniel von Bargen) is an Air Force General here ... French Stewart (3rd Rock from the Sun) is an Air Force infrared detection and imaging systems operator as "Frenchie" ... Slater brings in Samantha Mathis from his 1990 "Pump Up the Volume" ... Delroy Lindo ("Gone in 60 Seconds" 2000) turns in a good performance as the Air Force tough guy (his helicopter pilot needs a bit more flight training though) ... and Kurtwood Smith (Federation President "Star Trek VI") is the nervous Secretary of Defense ...

OK, it's not the nuclear thrillers that "Fail Safe" or "By Dawn's Early Light" are ... but it's a fun, action-packed movie ... don't take it too seriously and you might have some fun ...

Summary: Christian Slater's best work ever!
Review: I shouldn't have to tell you that the above title is in no way complimentary. However, upon examination of the large body of work Slater has produced in recent years, I can only come to the conclusion that Broken Arrow is indeed Slater's signature performance. Of course, this movie [stinks]. I could rant all day about this cinematic atrocities this film commits, but I'll keep it short. Director: John Woo. Enough said. Best Supporting Actor: Howie Long? Plot: Highjacked Nuclear warhead. Wait, isn't this the plot to Austin Powers? Only Austin Powers was a farce and hilariously funny. I think it's a general rule that when Hollywood starts making spoofs of a certain film genre, then it's time to stop making movies of that genre. All I can say about this film is that I saw it five years ago and I still mourn the two hours of my life that I'll never have back. I could have spent that time volunteering at a homeless shelter or tutoring inner city students. But alas, what's done is done. All I can do is warn others about the dangers of viewing Broken Arrow. Please, I am begging you. Don't make the same mistake I made. It's not too late to not watch this movie.

Summary: A fast-paced, expolsive Action flick
Review: It sure was John Travolta's breakthrough role in 1996. From softy to tough guy, but the role of the renegade Stealth bomber pilot fits him well. The story line is about stolen nukes and the plot centers around a high-profile extortion scheme. The action in this movie never stops and continues to the end. Christian Slater is playing well, too, as John Woo directed Broken Arrow. This movie spun a series of imitators since its release, but if you want to see the real thing, then this is it. There are great effects, cool stunts and lots of breathtaking chase scenes. The only thing we didn't like was the occasional foul language and it could have been left out and would have made the movie even better.

Summary: It's a hell of a Bang
Review: Great movie. The action scenes are intense and perfect. John Travolta as Deakins is magnificent because of his mimic and fantastic acting. The special effect are very good. And last but not least the explosions are great, big and a great sound. If you have not seen it rent it on DVD because of the sound,- and picture quality. Have fun!
