Summary: An Intelligent, Adrenaline-Pumped Thrill Ride!
Review: The Rock is one of the greatest of all action films. This is a movie that not only presents some incredible, if not stunning, action sequences, but also a smart plot and intelligent screenplay. This is a film that really works in it's genre to the fullest. Director Michael Bay is a master of this material and adds great style and vision to already excellent material. The screenplay by David Weisberg, Douglas S. Cook and Mark Rosner has a touch of intrigue here, a touch of adrenaline there, a splash of rambo here, and the effect is great on the big screen. "The Rock" never slowes down but never gets dumb either. Elements taken from other films are lovingly polished to a gloss. Nicolas Cage, Sean Connery and Ed Harris all give convincing performances that ignite the screen along with everything else. "The Rock" also has some of the best of all action scenes. The chase scene through San Francisco is pure excitement and thrills and amazingly filmed. "The Rock" is intelligent, action-packed, and a wild, thrilling adrenaline-pumped ride that's also wonderfully stylish.

Summary: A great action movie to watch over and over
Review: This is one of the best action movies I have seen and was the first dvd I ever bought. I have seen this movie five times, twice on video and three times on dvd.The video quality is excellent as well as the sound quality. This is definitely a movie in which it is greatly excelled with a good home theater system. The movie is great providing great action sequences and an amazing car chase scene between a Hummer and a Ferrari. There are a lot of quick punchlines and big explosions. A recommended buy!

Review: This movie is worth the money. Nicolas Cage & Sean Connery shine! Vanessa Marcil, who plays Cage's girlfriend, really shows her acting skills. Hopefully we will see her in a lot more movies.

Summary: One helluva movie!
Review: Terrific movie in every sense of the word. Never mind the snobbish critics (they're good for one thing only - nothing). Action-packed, rock-em, sock-em movie worth watching repeatedly. It is that good. One major flaw on this dvd - it's not anamorphically recorded, hence you're stuck with watching it with nearly half of your tv screen blacked out. Why hasn't the publisher released it in a widescreen anamorphic format??? Were they to do so, even now, I'm sure this title will blow away most other action dvd movies currently available.

Review: Now, first of all, I am not very much in to action movies. My favourites are Sling Blade and Life is Beautiful, but that doesn't make me incapable of enjoying a dead professianal, well-acted, kablam-boom-rattattatt thrill ride of an action movie. As The Rock in my opinion most certainly is. Believable? Absolutely not. Stupid? Oh, yes. The Rock has no intentions of challenging your braincells, and yet I find it has some more depth than what I am used to in action movies. It's possible to gain sympathy with the "bad guy". And it's possible getting angry on the "goodies." The first 15 minutes are excellent, and the ending , although rather florid, made my adrenalin go really high. I like Sean Connery, and as long as you can take his character for what it really is, he's very enjoyable. The way he pronounces the f-word (just like "Jack", only with an 'f' first instead of the j) makes me laugh out loud. I love it. Nic Cage is an apropriate action hero and Ed Harris succeeds pretty much in adding depth to his bad guy. I apoligize my English. I liked the film.

Review: The Rock is an awesome action thriller that blows the viewer away. Incredible fights and chases explode on screen and must be seen to be beleived. The soundtrack is also a cut above, matching the moment perfectly. it alone is worth buying, but this movie is another must have to action fans. the lines are hilarious in places and Connery is outstanding. all the acting is great and the action is incredible. Kudos to Mr. Bruckheimer and Mr. Simpson for creating the BEST ACTION MOVIE OF ALL TIME! YOU MUST OWN THIS FILM !!! the only film that comes close to this level of action perfection is THE MATRIX, but that can't beat this. BUY THE ROCK NOW!!!!!!!!!!
