Rating: Summary: One of my all-time top ten! Review: I've seen it a dozen times and I'll continue to see it again. High-speed action, gang battles as ballet, character development that comes out of just a few words. Riveting, riveting scenes. No movie moves faster.
Rating: Summary: Sam Shaber speaks for her father Review: I'm David Shaber's daughter, Sam, (Samantha.) My father wrote the screenplay for The Warriors, and I'm hoping this "review" gets printed because he just passed away on Thursday morning, November 4th, of a sudden burst anneurism. With so many "Warriors" fans out there, I thought you would want to know. I'm incredibly warmed by these wonderful comments about this film and I know that if he read them (although he had barely learned how to search the internet before he died) he would chuckle in his lighthearted way and say something like "Oh, well isn't that nice," all-the-while refusing to take credit for any of it. But I know he deserved that credit, having taken a dark, psychological study of gang warfare and infusing it with a classic but clever and topical, good vs. evil story. (And maybe I shouldn't admit it, but my dad didn't really like the baseball face-paint idea which I believe was one of Walter Hill's additions - he thought that was too unrealistic and "Hollywood"...) Anyway, I do hope the movie is re-issued with the extra scenes at some point, and for those real "followers" I just discovered that you can find a complete list of his produced titles on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb.com) if you want to check it out. The Warriors is indeed an AFFECTING picture, whether you love it or hate it. So thanks for your comments and take care, -Sam.
Rating: Summary: Great movie with plenty of one-liners and characters Review: This is my favourite movie of all time for many reasons. The movie is obviously sensationalized and embellished to keep the majority interested, but is timeless. I never get tired of seeing ajax, snow, cowboy, and swan run out of 96th street station and encounter the furies...."where are they"!! I remember seeing these extra scenes that people are talking about that were only shown on tv. This situation has to be rectified....a remastered version of this movie with the extra scenes! The characters are great, the one-liners classic, the furies chilling. The opening shot of the wonder wheel always gets me. "Did we lose these *** clowns or what"!
Rating: Summary: Magic, a whole lot of magic Review: Wow, what can I say? This is definitely not real life and that's what makes it so special and enjoyable. I catch myself shouting the lines every time I see this movie. It's almost as if I'm standing there among all the Warriors waiting to grab the train at Union Square. Thank you Walter Hill.

Rating: Summary: Summarizes New York in the Seventies like no other film Review: This film is a classic for all of those who spew out movie lines that only a select few will pick up. It is in the same class as Fast Times, Spinal Tap, and The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh. It has characters that remarkably are well played out by unknowns. If I could see a sequel of any movie, this would be it. This should be a rental for anyone in their 30's-50's who remember the seventies for what they were. D. Dow Tampa, Florida
Rating: Summary: THE BEST FILM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: WHEN I FIRST WATCHED THIS VIDEO, I WAS PUT IN AN INSTANT TRANCE. THE FILM WAS BRILLIANT. THE ONLY FLAW THAT I COULD SEE WAS IT WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH AND THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SOME MORE FIGHT SEENS. FOR EXAMPLE WHEN THE ORPHANS TRY TO 'RAID'THEM THEY SHOULD HAVE WASTED THEM PROPERLY
Rating: Summary: a classic Review: I've seen this movie at least fifty times, it was the first movie I bought (then for $39.99) when my family finally got a VCR. Classic lines, great fight scenes, The Furies kick! Just a great movie from the seventies. Hopefully it will be released on DVD with all of the television scenes edited back in. This is one of my top ten requested DVD's. "You just soldier and keep your mouth shut."
Rating: Summary: Excellent 70's film Review: I first saw this film 18 years ago and it's still as enjoyable today! Well acted and brilliant location choices. You can really feel the claustrophobia in the underground scenes. I watched it again last night on British TV and to my surprise it had a completley new start involving Cleon's girlfriend, about an extra 5 or 6 minutes that was not present on any video i'd seen. Can u dig it? I can!!
Rating: Summary: Just great Review: There's just something about special with this movie. you've got to love it.
