Summary: Action packed heart breaking genre definer...
Review: This film compares to no other... It has so much to offer in under two hours that it leaves you feeling like you have just lived the story line. Jean Reno is a highly talented actor who brings definition to his character and fuses the action with the drama excellently. Natalie Portman also brings her young talents to life within this film to make it an all time great, although less talented than Reno their on screen chemistry is spell binding.Gary Oldman is an excellent actor in his own right but in Leon he takes the psychopathic cop characterism to another level, he is so believably hardened that he gives the film that added realism. Danny Aiello as the supporting actor does a superb job because he makes you not want to like him although he is helping the lead character (Leon) out. With another level of action movie realism which sends this film into orbit above the other contenders it is hard to see any faults within this film. Luc Besson's direction is the linch-pin which holds such a volatile plot line and high paced acting together to give it definition. Although some of the scenery actors over emphasize their parts and in particular the SWAT teams over New York-ized accents kill off the realism, the movies good sides out shine the bad. Simply one of the best movies of any generation...

Summary: Best film ever, but...
Review: ... you haven't seen it unless you saw the Director's Cut. Just forget about the normal US Version, there are about twenty minutes missing. Only in the Director's Cut you'll see the whole story... and it is absolutely fantastic!

Summary: HEART GRABBER, TEAR JURKER, A MUST SEE
Review: When Matilda, a 12-year-old, is left an orphan due to a drug deal gone bad, she has no where to turn except to the hitman that lives down the hall. She pleads and pleads with him to take her in and teach her the fundamentals of being a hitman. Once she has learned a few things, she goes to the crooked DEA's office armed to the teeth to get revenge for her family's death. But, the tables turn and it is her who needs to be saved. Later on, the worst becomes reality and she is faced with the worst thing possible; loosing another person close to her. Coming from a person who watches everything, all the time, I must say, this movie is definatly one that I shall remember for a long time. Jean Reno plays a highly commendable part and steals the sceen with his preformance.

Summary: Brilliant Work
Review: "The Professional" (a.k.a. Léon) is one of the best films ever made. The plot is simplistic, but it goes right to the heart. Jean Reno is excellent as "the cleaner," Gary Oldman is his usual brilliant self as a bad cop, and Natalie Portman makes an excellent début as Mathilda, the young girl who harbours a deep understanding with Leon. Wonderful cinematography, excellent soundtrack (composed by Eric Serra), and a great cast. I highly recommend this video.

Review: This movie is an absolute delight. I don't want to get all technical or dive into the plot but I can say it is excellent, and trust me, if you buy it you will find this in your VCR/DVD player more times than you can imagine! Also check out Luc Besson's "La Femme Nikita, another killer movie!

Summary: One Good Movie
Review: I am a really big fan of movies with guns. This movie had lots of guns. Unlike everyone else who reviewed this movie, I really didn't care too much for the Mathilda part of the movie. I didn't want to see a cold-blooded hitman get cozy with a 12-year-old-girl. But I do admit, this is the only movie with guns that made me want to cry at the end. And for that, the movie get kudos!

Review: I've seen both the US version and the director's cut version. If you like Luc Besson, try to get the director's cut version, it's more "complete" in a sense and got all the charisma of a Luc Besson film.

Summary: simply put...a supurb film
Review: I had been told about this movie several times by friends and co-workers before I had seen it. I heard nothing but praise for the movie and so I decided to rent it to see for myself what all the fuss was about. I enjoyed the movie so much that I watched it twice before I returned it to the video store. My 14 year old daughter is also a movie buff and she also loved the movie. She very much enjoyed Natalie Portman and I was touched by the relationship that sparked up between Leon and Matilda. A wonderful movie that will linger in your mind for days after you see it. I only hope I can find it on VHS...gotta have my own copy!!!! For anyone out there who may not have seen it yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. It really is an awesome movie!
