Rating: Summary: Good, great. Review: I saw this on the Widescreen and it was very exciting. Leonardo Dicaprio (from Titanic and Romeo & Juliet) did a magnificent job of actign as 2 people but I can admit he did much better in Titanic and Romeo & Juliet. I think there was good acting from everyone, though. The stroy is about the long lost brother of King Louis III (Leonardo DiCaprio : Titanic, The Basketball Diaries), Phillipne (Dicaprio) who has currently had his heavy, iron mask taken off by prisnors. Phillipne is the good guy and he is aganist his twin brother. However, there is not much hope for Lois is rich and Phillipne is very very poor, how will he fight back? Extremely entertaining and very thrilling, great.
Rating: Summary: Very well put together with great actors. Review: The story and direction were awesome. However, the Dicaprio acting was weak. THe sound on the DVD is awesome
Rating: Summary: Leo's done better Review: As a DiCaprio fan, I've seen all of the films he was in. Although the story line was good, I thought that DiCaprio's acting wasn't that great. Sure, he was capable of playing the nice version of the twin, but when it came to the villain part, (baby faced Leo) wasn't that convincing. If you are a DiCaprio fan, because of his acting skills, movies such as the "Basketball Diaries" or "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" are the ones to watch.
Rating: Summary: Leonardo stinks Review: Great Film, with one exception. Leonardo Dicaprio. Whats worse, in this film there is two of him!!!! UUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: I want to see The man in the iron mask video. Review: I realy want to see The man in the iron mask whole video
Rating: Summary: A Major Dissappoinment Review: Leonald Maltin is the film critic I respect the most, but this time I must disagree: this version is lame. Gerard Depardieu is the only thing that makes it worth a look.
Rating: Summary: Not Perfect, but Interesting Review: This movie is not unlike its central character(s) -- twins separated at birth, developing in two different directions. There's the movie for the squealing teens -- basically Leo DiCaprio, in all kinds of costumes, doing his cute-as-a-button routine as both hero and villain. Then there's the movie for everybody else -- a somber, complex story full of superb middle-aged actors who finally find honor and redemption at too high a cost. The two sides of the movie do fit together -- DiCaprio is a surprisingly good actor when he has the likes of Malkovich and Gabriel Byrne feeding him his cues -- but the fit is never perfect. The old guard side of the story is slow-paced at times, because it develops a personal plot line for every single Musketeer, but it gets there in the end. If you like the movie the first time, a re-watching will bring up new and interesting nuances. The best thing in the film (if you're not female and 17) is John Malkovich, whose version of Athos jumps believably from homicidal obsessive to loving father figure without ever touching middle ground. The movie is too flawed to be called 'great,' but what it does well it does very, very well.
Rating: Summary: Antidote for Hollywood degradation. Review: This is by far the finest movie I know of. Randall Wallace's "The Man in The Iron Mask" jumps to the top of the list of great films. Coppola's films, of which I am a mighty admirer, must be rated below this one grand event. Why? Because this film is a clear display of the heroic character. People everywhere long to see the grand and heroic human being. This film delivers it in spades. These actors present the Musketeers integrity, dedication and courage in a way Dumas would be proud to see. A great film such as Casablanca can be seen over and over with increased enjoyment and understanding. BUT THIS FILM GROWS STRONGER WITH EACH VIEWING.
Rating: Summary: Spectacular!! A brilliant masterpiece!! Review: I'll admit: I'm not a DiCaprio fan, but Leo did a superb job in this film. John Malkovich's performance was very inspiring. I think this film should have received the Oscar for Best Costumes!
Rating: Summary: The Original is Better! Review: I didn't think movie was great at all! I don't like Leo either. I think the movie dragged on too long. There were some immpressive actors in this movie though..but I still give it a bad review. It is better to see the Original first.
