Summary: Pretty darn good, but a couple nits to pick
Review: This movie was just GREAT fun, and we need more like it. I have two complaints, however. First, the trailers and commercials showed almost everything important. You have seen half the movie before you see it. I hate this practice, and will hardly ever watch trailers any more.

Second.... now I can suspend belief with the best of them, but while I'm busy believing Zorro is fighting off 100 men, he goes into an olympic gymnast routine. I had to burst out laughing, and the mood was ruined. I don't remember Errol Flynn or any of the old swashbucklers doing this. Do these guys really work out on uneven bars? Watch for this, it's fairly amusing. They should use fewer gymnasts for stuntmen, maybe.

Nits notwistanding, this is a GREAT movie, although not as good as the Tyrone Power classic (in my opinion).

Summary: This video is good old romance and action!
Review: This is a well-made movie with something for everyone. With the superb cast, Zorro leaves it's mark! It is fast paced, beautifully filmed, and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone that wants to see a good movie that is removed from the politically correct movie making of today.

Summary: Extraordinary
Review: "The Mask of Zorro" was released last summer amid the hype and hoopla of the extremely dumb "Armaggeddon" (sp?) and the excellent "Deep Impact". "The Mask of Zorro" is, far and away, the best movie of summer '98!! Having been a fan of the character Zorro for years, I'd like to say simply that this movie is the absolute best of the Zorro films!!!!

Summary: An exciting cinematic experience
Review: If you like action movies with a fairly good plot I would highly recommend this film. It's fight sequences were well coreographed and the acting, though it wasn't oscar worthy, wasn't poor either. The script was simple but exciting and the sound effects blew me away. This movie deserves to be seen.

Summary: Swashbuckling Action
Review: Has a good moral. Has good stunts. Full of actio

Summary: Pure entertainment!
Review: This movie isn't cerebral, sure. Do you have to suspend your disbelief? Absolutely. But for pure fun and entertainment, "The Mask of Zorro" is hard to beat. Lately, Hollylwood's been churning out "escapist" films that are so poorly crafted as to be annoying. But Zorro has all the energy, inventiveness and spectacle of the greatest films of the past. Not to be missed!

Summary: All Hollywood movies should be like this
Review: This is an unbelievably genuine movie. The acting is impeccable, the story is tight, and the various settings are sublime. Catharine Zeta-Jones is an unparalleled beauty, and she and Antonio Banderas have the best SEXUAL chemistry/tension I've seen on screen in a decade. Also, Sir Anthony Hopkins is very dignified as "Don Diego." Needless to say, this is a wonderful movie and I highly recommend it.

Summary: One of the greatest movies of all time!
Review: This movie is for Zorro and non-Zorro fans alike. Anyone with good taste will enjoy this movie. This Zorro is like no other, with a new original plot.

Summary: Very entertaining
Review: If only...if only...they hadn't tied it so closely--and incorrectly--to real historical events. A greater attempt to create a sense of timelessness would have helped this much more than the effort at grounding it in actual California history. Even so, it's rousing good fun. Hopkins, as always, is the standout, and his opening swashbuckling sequence is the most electric of the movie. But Banderas's willingness to laugh at himself and his image is a delightful surprise, and he brings his own fire to the screen. It's not perfect, but it's darn enjoyable!
