Rating: Summary: This is the best movie I've seen by far! Review: I went to see Spider-man last night and it was awsome from beginning to end! After seeing MTV's Spider-man behind the scenes and how spectacular the special effects were I knew this was a must see. It has something for everyone from explosive action to romance. Fans old and new will love it!
Rating: Summary: His Curse! Review: Only this phrase could say so much about spiderman, It kicked butt! And surely it did. Spiderman is the most impressive comic book turned to movie yet. I remember seeing Superman:the movie and in awe about how interesting it was. Christoper Reeve was Superman and I thought no one could have played him better. I feel the same way with Michael Keaton as Batman and now I can say the samething about Tobey Muguire. He stealed the show with his nerdish and cunning acts as Peter Parker Honestly I was never really was a Spiderman fan ,but I knew that there were comic books out that's really all I needed to know ,but the movie has changed my reasoning about Spiderman. I savered every second of that movie and hoped it would never end!!!Cheers for director Sam Raimi, who is known for his famous Evil Dead series (I've seen all of them at least a million times!)He has brought a lot of heart and compassion to this movie. When I realized last year he was making the movie, I said to myself he will make the diffinative Spiderman movie. Cheers for Kirsten Dunst as the girl next door, Mary Jane (M.J. for short). Cheers for William Dafoe who took this challenge and rose up to it.He was my favorite charactor throughout this movie! What a pro! Anyways go see Spiderman and have a good time... You'll love it!
Rating: Summary: Awesome, Charming, True-to-Life Spiderman Review: When I went to watch the Spiderman movie, I wasn't sure what quite to expect. I had an idea, but not sure. Everything in the movie left me happy, though. It reminded me of the spiderman animated series I would watch on TV when I was a few years younger. Peter Parker had that charming attitude with him and those sarcastic, charming sort-of sayings of his. The movie was true-to-life with these and other aspects of everything I remember from the animated series. I was VERY pleased. I always loved the Spiderman cartoon series and the movie only improved upon what I expected to see when I watched the cartoon as a kid! I'm happy with the movie :-)
Rating: Summary: My Spiderman Movie Review Review: Spiderman was one of the best movies that I have seen in my entire life (and believe me when I say that I've seen many many movies). My favorite movie was orginally The Wizard of Oz, but after seeing Spiderman I think that I'll have to change my expectations of what a good movie should be like. It was a great movie (I've probably already mentioned that)! The graphics were absolutely amazing! It was so amazing to see (for the first time) Parker try out his powers, by swinging from building to building. The whole audience went on a wild ride when the Green Goblin was zooming about the city. And to be someone who currently lives in New York and hear the guy on the bridge close to the end of the movie scream "If you mess with one of us, you mess with us all!" it made me feel even more patriotic than usual. For everyone who goes to that movie who was in some way affected by September 11th, they will (I assure you) be crying. But back to the funky stuff: Watching Spiderman swing throughout the city was so amazing, you felt like you were there swinging alongside him. Even though there was the love story in it, it was all summed up at the end, when spiderman swings up to the American Flag. I don't get why people are calling the love story sappy. I thought it went along great. My favorite scene had to have been when Spidey and MJ were kissing upside down. I read in online interviews that it was freezing and that Tobey couldn't breath, 'cause the mask was over his nose and Kirsten was kissing his mouth. But, despite all of that, Kirsten and Tobey made the kiss look so romantic that....that....that....I can't even think of words to describe that scene ('cause it was so cool)! I also really loved the flashback the day after Mr. Osbourne (Willam Dafoe) tested the drug on himself in the lab. It was so loud and so surprising that I JUST LOVED IT! Also, all of the other scenes that have Peter (Spiderman) swinging around the ciry were just plain cool! There were also a number of comedic scenes in the movie that made it even better that it already was. Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willam Dafoe, James Franco, J.K. Simmons, and everybody else who was in this movie was fantastic! ... SPIDERMAN ROCKS!...
Rating: Summary: Simply a fun movie Review: The movie started and right off the bat you could tell it was going to be an entertaining flick. It doesn't focus to much on the story between Mcguire and Dunst. Instead it substitutes with action and special effects that are amazing. This is just a fun movie, don't expect to much of a plot and don't expect to see any major awards being shelled out to this or anyone involved (special effects team excluded). Spider-man is what summer movies are made of lots of fun, lots of action, and lots of special effects. Great summer flick.
Rating: Summary: An Awesome Movie! Review: From begining to end, I was kept on the edge of my seat during Spider-Man. It was a better movie than I expected it to be, and I plan to see it a couple more times. Tobey Maguire was the the perfect role as Spider-Man, and Kirsten Dunst was great as MJ. I was a little dissapointed in the end where Spider-Man didn't take the girl, but hopefully he will in the sequel; which I can wait for. It was a movie well worth the time and money.
Rating: Summary: SPIDERMAN, NOT SHAKESPEARE Review: It's been a long time since I read a comic book, but when my roommate told me that Spiderman is "an AWESOME movie," well, I just had to see what it was that put that enthusiasm in his voice. Much to my delight, the movie is very faithful to the original comic, with only a few minor variations, none of which detracted from my enjoyment of the film. The music in the movie is very good, ESPECIALLY the opening music. And the PLOT, my goodness, I never thought a movie based off a comic book could have such a wonderful plot. However, as great as myself and others make this movie sound, it's not without its harsh critics. Some reviewers talk about the silly one-liners, the silly costume for green goblin, etc. This is where my title for the review comes in: THIS IS SPIDERMAN, NOT SHAKESPEARE! The very IDEA of a man getting bitten by a genetically altered spidered and acquiring super powers is ridiculous to begin with, which is why it makes perfectly good sense for everything else to follow suit. Normally, I HATE spiders, but this spider is definitely one I'd like to see more of.
Rating: Summary: The Great Sam Raimi Review: This movie was even better than i thought it would be, and i thought it was going to be great. i though that Tobey Maguire was going to [stink] as a spider-man but i was totally wrong he was awsome. i this movie the first week it came out and i still cant stop talking about it. i love Sam Raimi's work and this has got to be one of his best films next to the evil dead trilogy. all i have to say is watch this movie!!!
Rating: Summary: Spider-man Review: I am not a big fan of the comic book ,but this movie was incridably.I waited three years for it to come out and it was well worth the wait.It had great speciel effects,an outstanding cast, the CGI didn't look CGI and I was really suprised how it came out,I wish it was longer though.Tobey Macquire was perfect to play as spider-man,I was always a big fan of Kirsten Dunst and and Dafoe was creepy.Hopefully they make a sequel and the dvd comes out soon!
Rating: Summary: ...a name in the minds of every American... Review: Spider-Man - A name in the minds of every American this week. And it isn't difficult to figure out why. In it's first weekend Spider-Man grossed over $114 million, the first movie to ever break $100 million in its first three days. The film is well on its way to become the fastest film to $200 million, a title currently held by Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, which arrived at the total in 13 days. 40 years ago two men began a comic book character that would become a legacy. Steve Ditko drew the Amazing Spider-Man, while the more popular Stan Lee, who has a cameo appearance in the movie, wrote the comic book. Spider-Man's alter ego, Peter Parker, is a character that people can relate to, which is what has made the comic book so popular. Spider-Man on the other hand was always misunderstood and made mistakes, which set him apart from all other comic book heroes. It is an amazing treat to see Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, swinging through the streets of New York. As with any hero, there comes a villain, and Spider-Man has the ultimate villain, the Green Goblin, played spectacularly by Willam Dafoe. The two super humans go face to face in a battle of wits and strengths, challenging each other's minds and morals. The special effects, supervised by John Dykstra who also supervised the special effects on the pioneer special FX movie, Star Wars, were seamless and out of this world. As Spider-Man swings from one skyscraper to another, as the Green Goblin flies through the air on his glider, the finished effects are beautiful and virtually undetectable. I was in awe of the wizardry of visual treats that make up the movie that is Spider-Man. The character relationships in the movie were surprisingly straight forward with the comic book world that they came from. They were interesting enough without taking too much out of the action of the movie, and the action wasn't too much to take away from the story. The action was top notch, Spider-Man's actions did not seem too over the top yet he seemed to be characteristic of a man with super human strengths, senses, and reflexes. The fact the Peter Parker had organic web shooters opposed the classic mechanical web shooters he has had in the comic books for the past 40 years only added to the realism of the movie and helped his character in the story line. With Spider-Man now in the top 100 box-office success films in only the first week, I feel confident that it will continue up the ranks to the top ten in not any longer than two months. The movie began with a bang and will continue to do so throughout its theatre release until it comes out onto video. With actors and crew signed on for a second installment and a third in talk people can only wonder what's to come. I for one will be in line once again on opening day to see what will be. Written Friday, May 10, 2002 Spider-Man (R), Green Goblin (R), the characters, (R) & (C) 2002 Marvel Characters, Inc.
