Summary: Those who are different will stand united!!
Review: When I was a teenager I would sometimes close my eyes and try to imagine what would a movie about the X-Men would look like. I would try to picture how the characters would look, the costumes, and the different situations I would put my favorite Marvel Mutants in ( being mind numbingly bored by the New Haven, CT public schools, I naturally had alot of time to think about such flights of fancy). Now after seeing X2: X-Men United, I'm starting to think that director Bryan Singer must have been a mind reader. This movie is EXACTLY how I envisioned the X-Men on the big screen.

X2: X-Men united picks up the story shortly after the conclusion of 2000's X-Men film. Magneto has been defeated and is now imprisoned. Wolverine is in search of his past in Canada. And all is seemingly quiet at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters in Salem Center, NY. But things are about to take a sinester turn. A rogue goverment element led by a William Stryker, is plotting the destruction of all mutant kind. He has more personal reasons for wanting to destroy mutants it seems, and also a personal score to settle with Charles Xavier. The story is based on the 1983 Marvel X-Men graphic novel called "God Loves, Man Kills". Director Bryan Singer has gone out of his way to deliver a spectacular film presentation of the story. A few changes here and there are noticable, but on the whole they work in the context of the story and are forgivable. What the story does so well ( and what I felt that the X-Men have always done) is illustrate that the battle lines, in the war of Humans vs. Mutants, are not always clearly defined. The "bad guys" aren't intrinsically evil. And some of the "good guys" don't always do the right thing. Where a character like Superman is strictly "hero", the X-Men are the definition of "Anti-Heros". They don't want to save the world, they have to because no one else can. And no X-Man more clearly fits that description than Wolverine. The majority of the film is spent on Wolverine delving into his past. He's trying to figure out exactly who he is and where he comes from. Along the way he's aided by his fellow X-Men, and even by Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants.

The special effects are extremely well integrated into the action. At no time does X-Men descend into a "special effects" film. The main thrust is always the story. The pacing of the story is also very even. Starting slowly then building ultimately to a crescendo. The story does have a feeling finality to it but it leaves the door wide open for a sequal. Some may not understand what exactly happens at the end of the film. All you need to know the BEST is yet to come.

This is probably one of the best two disc DVD sets to be released this year. Crips audio, great transfer, nicely laid out menus and a ton of extras make this a must buy. There is also a directors commentary by director Bryan Singer that gives you alot of insight into the making of the film. This is truley a fitting DVD release for this film.

I can't say enough good things about this movie. If you haven't seen it, then get yourself to a movie theater right now and do so. If you have seen it, see it again! At a time when the comic book movie has gone from a "genre" film to a big budget Hollywood epic, X2 will set a standard that comic book movies will have to live up to for a very long time to come.

Summary: Even better the third time!
Review: Surpassing it's rival, the over-hyped MATRIX RELOADED in terms of action, story, spectacle and SFX, X-MEN 2 is one of the (Very) rare sequels that actually manages to turn out better than the original. Pitting the good and bad X-Men against a military scientist William Stryker (Brian Cox), the story is more involved than X-1 and has better action and some good humour thrown in for good measure. And fans are kept happy with some great mutants from the comics. Building on his fantastic persona, Hugh Jackman does a terrific job as Wolverine, who finds out more about his mysterious past. And he kicks some serious butt in this movie. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as Professor X and Magneto are great, and new mutants Pyro, Iceman, Nightcrawler and Lady Deathstrike. My favourite character, Magneto is even better and Mystique provides both eye-candy and action-woman role. John Ottman's comic book-esche score gives the films a whole new layer of mystery and excitement, and Brian Singer's steady hand makes this one that is not to be missed on the big screen. Building on itself to the amazing finale, the only problem with X2 is that once it's over, you want to see it again. An incredible action event and one of the best movies of the year so far. 5-Star entertainment.

Summary: My X2 Review
Review: I thought this movie was unbeleivable. I really thought they did a great job on the new effects, and I love the whole story to this film better than the first. I would definitely reccomend this film to anyone who shows any interest in comics or even those curious about the Xmen. I do also reccommend seing the first one, only so that you will understand some of the scenes with Jean, Wolverine, and Mystique.

Summary: X-MEN II A Fantastic sequel!!!
Review: when i watched the first film i thought to myself hmm?
it was good but didn't do justice to the comic and animated versions. it was too short a film, less than 90min, didn't give time to the story line to develop. It was predictable, the action lacked a certin originality to it.
i think this conclusion comes from the fact not enough of the characters from the animated\comic versions were there. and those that were didnt have time to develop.
THIS FILM WAS RUSHED!!! and "bryan singer" during an interview asumed he had time and was corrected upon this assumption by the producers i think they were. this interview is on the DVD special features.

this is not so with the "sequel". the length of the film was perfect, gave the story line time to develop and the characters to become more involved with their roles.
the intensity of action and violence were in the right amount and were used in the correct scenes. to sum it up it gave me a great buzz at the right time and i was engrosed in the film from beginning to end.

Summary: This Movie Rocks!
Review: This movie was definitely one of the best ever! I personally think it out did the first one! Back with a great director and the greatest cast I have ever seen! This movie has everything! It picks up exactly where it left off making it easy to catch up especially for those who may or may not have seen the first one at all or in a long time. It gives you the romance between Iceman-A.K.A Bobby-and Rogue, and between Wolverine, Cyclops and Jean Gray. The action with the all new and completely awsome Nightcrawler. William Stryker comes in too, and gives you another bad guy with more plans for domination giving you an all time thriller! Abosolutely AWSOME!

Summary: X2 A Masterpiece
Review: I thought this film was fantastic. I think that this is by far the best of all the comic book movies, and is much better than X-Men 1. The special effects, characters, and storyline were well put together and the soundtrack is also fantastic.

I saw this movie at the World Premiere, in Leicester Square, London, so I may be a little biased, yet I would reccomend this to anybody. My mother who I attended the film with, had never seen the first movie, and is very anti-sci-fi, however she loved this film! 10/10

Summary: X2: X men United
Review: This movie was awesome...it picked up from where the last one left off and kept moving. It was a lot more fast paced and the Wolverine story was played out to its fullest. The intense action, little quips of humor, and great storytelling makes this movie a definite choice to watch. I can barely wait until it comes out on DVD/VHS. If you liked the first one I would definitely recommend the second one!!! Great acting, directing, and kick [rear] special effects!!!!
