Review: I really wanted to give this movies 2 & 1/2 stars but couldn't.
Ok Hollywood & others should know that you always get someone who is an expert in comics & a great writer to write the script for the screen. The director did not know anything about the x-men. There are so many things that could have been done to make this film much much better than it is. No offense i love halle berry, but wrong person to play storm with no african accent and no blue eyes like the comics halle berry is just another too pretty actress that is just thrown in a film that seems like just a special f/x test. In the comics storm is a big woman vs halle's skinny butt. The phoenix is done way too soon & not done in space.
The movie revolves around mr wolverine too much not giving enough time to cyclops in this film. James cameron & Stan winston would have gave more dept to the charactors and f/x. I wish fox would find someone who is much more serious in the work that he does and also sticks to the original story.

Summary: So Good It's Uncanny...
Review: Hey, pardon my pun, but it's so refreshing to see a comic book movie that doesn't feel like solely a comic book movie that could never happen even in a parallel dimension that looked like a comic book. I mean, yes, Daredevil and Batman and all the rest were fun and all, but they never had the "look" that made you say, "by God, they've done it, I'm looking at life anew!" Well, with X-2, they've done it, my friends...The first X-Men film was a necessary sacrificial lamb. With so many characters, good and bad, and each character having all their own ongoing multiple storylines and backgrounds and yadda yadda yadda, the first flick chopped all the excess fat and brought the comic book to life in a very realistic and engrossing world...However, it did have its flaws as well as a flat climax that felt like merely a prologue for future X-Films rather than a memorable first entry (though still better than most comic book tripe nevertheless). X-2 one-ups all of that, though...Everyone from the first is back for more and even some newbies hitch a ride. Nightcrawler has been made into a gem of a character by Alan Cumming. The opening sequence with him involved in an assassination attempt is awesome and unrelenting. Pyro was always a silly "goofy-villain-with-bad-costume" in the X-books but he's much more compelling as an angst-ridden teen fighting temptation from the dark side of mutant powers, kind of like Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 2, but in this film it doesn't make you the moviegoer roll your eyes or consider suicide. There's a brief cameo from Colossus, another goodie mutie who will no doubt have a bigger and highly anticiapted role in the inevitable (and very welcome) X-3... All the other charaters from the original are even better here and it's hard to give all of them equal playing time in such a movie, but in the end everyone knows the real title of these movies: "Wolverine and his Amazing Friends." Got it? Get used to it. Hugh Jackman as Wolvie is so good that it should be illegal to play a comic character that well. Absolutely criminal. Quick, someone call the acting police and give Michael Jai White a copy of X1 and X2, tell him that's how to play a badass. Then laugh at him for ruining "Spawn" anyway. Needless to say, the plot is a foregone conclusion here and it's all just an excuse to -gasp- develop the characters. What? A popcorn movie with unobtrusive character development? Yep, that's X-2 alright; and it's all a hell of a lot of fun...

Summary: Damn! A sequel better than the original!?
Review: I'm *SURE* that violates some major law of the universe. Well, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and the rest of them are good lawbreakers, then. X-2 is excellent. It picks up where the first leaves off, but because it doesn't have to spend time doing the "set up" as the first movie did, it can get up and running right away, which it does. X-2 almost never slows down except to let you catch your breath for a moment, then takes off again. Nightcrawler is extremely well done; he was a much-anticipated addition to the cast, and he works well. The changes in his background were expected, and they manage to keep the essence of his character unchanged. Halle Berry, who seemed rather uncertain of how to portray Storm in the first movie, has stepped forward and grabbed the opportunity to play one of the coolest female characters in comicdom with both hands. NOW we see the woman that was once worshipped as a goddess, who has both beauty and a force of presence hard to rival on any count. Well done! Jean Grey and Scott Summers... we're finally getting some of the chemistry right here. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine just keeps getting better. He seems to have "gotten" the idea early on, but with the additional screen time he's managed to seriously hone the presentation. Stewart and McKellen... what a team. Both have marvelous stage presence and acting ability, and project their characters with an intensity rarely seen in ANY type of film. Xavier's warmth of character and Magneto's fanatical, Machiavellian attitude both dominate their respective scenes (Magneto's jailbreak is one of the more horrific scenes I've watched recently, even though it manages to avoid extreme gore). The overall plotline works well, drawing on several of the comic's most successful themes and characters while adding the necessary unique approach for a movie version. The ending clearly sets up for X3 what is probably the single most well-known sequence in comic-book history; the question is whether it will be possible for them to pull it off. Wonderful superhero work. I hope they can do it one more time.

Summary: DISSAPPIONTING!!!
Review: Nightcrawler was cool during the action sequences but why are we having an ultra-dramatic scene about him being an outcast within the first act of the film. The team and the audience just met him and already we have to cry for him. Why does the movie seem like a long set-up for the third one. We know Pyro is bad so can't we just get on with it so we can enjoy a Pyro/Iceman fight. I wince at how many imaginative things they failed to do with Iceman's abilities. All the amazing, original villains in the X-Men universe and this multi-million dollar film decides to focus on Stryker and LadyDeathstrike. A low-key character actor picking up some extra cash and a black clad woman with dark glasses who has the exact same powers as one of our heroes. WOW! They really give Mystique and Sabretooth a run for their money! In the first film, Cyclops seemed to be a straight man for the rebellious Wolverine. So what interesting direction does the sequel decide to take with his character. It doesn't. It does even LESS with him. Unless you consider his overblown, unnecessarily melodramatic crying at the end of the film, a form of character. How anyone could consider this film better than the first X-men is beyond me but perhaps I'm just a Mutant amongst too many humans.

Summary: Far Superior
Review: This sophomore effort is far superior to the first one. There is more human interaction and less reliance on effects than the original X-MEN. Perhaps this is due to the fact that there is more at stake (the lives of all mutants) than the first one. You can be content owning only this version and not care an X-MEN 1 ever existed.

Summary: X-statically delicious
Review: The first X-Men movie really had a lot going for it, despite the limited time and and budget that Singer had to work with. Fanboys have been drooling to see what he can do with a longer shooting schedule, bigger budget, and wider studio support. X2 is the amazing result of all three. I'll have to rank this with one of the best comic book movies ever, along with Tim Burton's first two Batman films. From the onset of the movie, which starts off with a jaw dropping sequence involving Nightcrawler's assasination attempt of the president, to Storm's summoning of hundreds of tornadoes to destroy two fighter planes, the action, drama, and special fx have been upped to a spectacular degree. Singer has the rare ability to cater both to a mainstream audience and to die hard fans like me. The whole movie is accessible to people who have never picked up the comic book, but for those who have been reading it for years, Singer drops in several nifty novelties. As usual Singer infuses what would have been otherwise a dry action movie with a much more deeper social commentary on prejudice, intolerance, and the politics of difference. The conclusion of the movie serves as a nice cliff hanger/fanboy appreciation/ tear jerker moment as Jean transforms herself into a certain fiery cosmic entity...I can't wait for the next one!!!!

Review: The first scene of this movie is worth the ticket price all on it's own! My only beef with the movie is that there wasn't nearly enough cool scenes with Nightcrawler, because after that first scene I just wanted more more more! I won't go over the whole story, a lot of other people did in their reviews. It was fun, action-packed and visually stunning! Wolverine is back and amazing as ever, as is almost all the cast from X-Men 1. Well worth the price, I can't wait for the DVD. I'm ready for X-Men 3!

Summary: EXCELLENT
Review: This was by far the best XMEN movie I have ever seen. I love Wolverine. The action choreographer did an excellent job staging the fight scenes in the school. The exquisite way that Magneto slyly remarks to Pyro the "you are a God among men" attitude I just love that scene. I was so glad to see Halle Berry more active than the first. Congratulations to all who participated in making this movie great. I have seen it 8 times already.

Summary: ready for X3....................NOW
Review: If you haven't seen this movie see it! It rocks!!!! Sure it's voilent ,but hey, it's rated PG-13 for a reason you know! Some parts are ,shall i say, kinda odd ,but the rest is better than the first ,and the whole thing is way better than the Lord of the Rings movies. The Harry Potter movies are close to being as good ,but they aren't quite there yet.

Summary: Best Sequal of All Marvel Films
Review: X2: X-men united is buy far the best marvel sequal to any marvel film currently out besides Blade 2. In my opinion this film totally dwarfs the first one by a long shot.I mean more action, more characters, and Wolverine is seriously ruthless in it than the first.This is a must-have for any fan of the x-men film and for fans who just love action.
