Summary: A Great Action Sequel
Review: The mutant versus non-mutant issue rises again in this even greater action sequel to X-Men. The mutants (good and evil) are forced to unite to face a common non-mutant enemy bound to exterminate mutants altogether on earth by making use of a duplicate copy of Cerebro the mind connection chamber Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) uses to locate all mutants. Starting with a bogus attack on the President, the mutants are used as pawns in a plot to undermine the Xavier School for the Gifted which is assaulted like a third world country and to locate all mutants around the world. There are many wonderful special affects such as the wall of ice made by a new X-man Iceman and the disappearing acts by another newcomer Night Crawler (Alan Cummings). Familiar favorites such as Magneto (Ian McKellan) don't disappoint either. He has a most unique scene were he breaks out of prison with the help of Mystique. Mystique (Rebecca Romjin-Stomas) in her own right is one tough woman. She can fly planes, manipulate computer systems and kick butt. Wolverine (Hugh Jackson) finally connects with the past he's been searching for and has a dynamic fight sequence with Deathstrike (Kelly Hu). And we say good-bye to one special mutant.

Summary: A Great Sequel!!
Review: X2 is simply an awesome movie and a great DVD. The movie was great in every possible way and I found very little to zero flaws during this movie.For starters, X2 is certainly better than the first movie. This reason being simply that the first movie was more of an introduction to the whole idea of X-Men for the audience that was not familiar with X-Men as a whole. However, this movie really gets into the hard core storylines such as Jean & Cyclops' relationship, Wolverine's past, and adds some interesting if not critical characters like William Stryker, Pyro, and Nightcrawler. The movie never gets boring and always keeps you into it with its great acting and eye-popping action. But make no mistake about it, X2 really focuses in on the storylines of the comic book which has made X-Men a successful franchise. A lot of credit has to be given to Bryan Singer for directing this film because he was able to stick to the main plots without making any real significant changes to the X-Men storyline. He also improved this film by getting rid of Sabretooth and Toad since those characters really were never critical to the comics nor are they in Singer's 1st film. Also, Singer cleverly keeps out the most annoying character, Jubilee, from the movie. In fact, this DVD reveals how a minor scene that included Jubilee was deleted. Some characters that Singer may want to introduce in the next film are Beast, Mr. Sinister, or even Omega Red. He may want to consider giving Colossus a bigger role if he includes Omega Red. But most of all, Singer has to include Gambit in the next film. His real name (Remy Lambeau) is shown in one scene as another reviewer already wrote and Henry McCoy (Beast) is briefly shown on a TV set in one scene. So one has to expect that they will be included in the next film. Overall, X2 is brilliantly directed and screenplayed. The DVD is awesome in that it's a two disc set which has plenty of features that really go behind the scenes of X2. If you're an X-Men fan, don't hesitate buying this DVD. Buy it right away, you won't regret it! I can't wait until X3 comes out because it will be interesting to see where Singers goes with the the transformation of Jean into the Phoenix.

Summary: A worthy sequel
Review: One of the very few sequels to live up to the expectations set by its predecessor, X2 is well worth picking up. Aside from Sabretooth and Toad, all the mutant characters from the first film return, and we get to know them all a little better. X2's casting is excellent; the actors are all instantly believable as their super-hero (or -villain) counterparts, sometimes frighteningly so. There is a good story being told here, not just a collection of effects. Speaking of effects, though, there's more of everything this time around, including action scenes, as William Stryker wages war against the X-Men. If you're a fan of watching Wolverine tear people new orifices -- and who isn't? -- you won't be disappointed. The filmmakers use Nightcrawler's teleporting ability (BAMF!) liberally, and to magnificent effect. And there's even a brief cameo from Colossus, who is every bit as cool as you're hoping. I haven't watched all the special features yet, but what I have seen has been fairly interesting. There are some oddities to be found -- for instance, no fewer than three of the so-called "deleted scenes" are actually in the film -- but it's a strong package all-around. Highly recommended.

Summary: Not worth to keep for hearing impaired
Review: First thing, this movie is great action. I may agree with other comic lover's. I have the bad thing about this X Men 2 on special features. None of them are available fo SUBTITLE or CLOSED CAPTION that leave us, for hearing impaired so useless to watch this. It's better for you to rent it. Definely not worth to keep.

Summary: Good movie.
Review: Good movie, but it seems like the time it starts, it's all over. I saw this and Matrix reloaded in the same day, and man, I thought this movie was twenty times better. To bad it was overshadowed by Matrix's opening. Definitely a good movie that's a must see for any action fan.

Review: I am usually sceptic about movies, especially comic book adaptations being a hardcore comic fan and all. I hate the following movies.

BUT X-2 NAILS IT ON THE FREAKING HEAD!!!! THIS FLICK IS THE BOMB!!!! BRAN SINGER SHOULD MAKE ALL OF THE MARVEL COMIC MOVIES!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST COMIC MOVIES OF ALL FREAKING TIME!!!! UP THERE WITH SUPERMAN, SUPERMAN II AND THE BATMAN MOVIES!!!!

Summary: One of the first comic films to get it right
Review: Although I was very hesitant about a Bryan Singer-directed version of X-Men, this series is the first comic adaptation since Batman to be truely faithful to the comics. And the great thing is that it makes for an excellent movie. As with Aliens and Godfather 2, the sequel is just as good, if not better than the original. Wolverine's background is explored and the film endsw with an incredible climatic battle scene. Since I don't own the DVD yet, I can only speak for the quality of the film. But if X-Men 1.5 and the list of extra features is any indication, the DVD looks like an excellent product.

Review: This movie kept me entertained and interested the entire time. It has very good action scenes and special effects. This movie is much better than the first. Worth seeing if you like comic type action movies.

Summary: Exceptionally well done 'popcorn' movie
Review: Movies can do several things for an audience. They can educate, inform and/or entertain. Ironically, perhaps the hardest thing to do is simply to entertain without informing or educating. A movie can educate the audience about a certain subject, and be critically praised, even if it is not very well made. If a movie is designed just to be a 'popcorn' film or a blockbuster, then it damn well better know what it is doing. "X2" was produced, as far as I can tell, only for entertainment, but it does this exceptionally well. Its subject matter is banal because it is, after all, based on a comic book. No matter! It is one of the sleekest, best executed movies of 2003. The CGI effects and set designs are brilliant. The attention to detail is amazing. It is a fairly rare example of a sequel topping the original. I thoroughly enjoyed it. In this episode the mutants find themselves reluctantly in a war with normal human beings over control of the planet. At first, they are not sure of who or what caused this conflict. Even after they find our what caused it, they are not entirely sure of what to do. Their quest to solve the problem makes for a riveting, nail-biting story. Like the original film, one of the movie's assets is its cast, which includes Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellan, Famke Janssen and Anna Paquin, all of whom reprise their roles. Somewhat like "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, there is just enough character definition to let these actors give much more than cardboard performances. Still, it is the awesome scenes and sets that give "X2" much of its power. "X2" may not contribute much to the education of the masses, but like an awesome fireworks display, it has a majesty and power all its own.

Summary: Troma would've done a better job
Review: I am being generous with this 1 star. That's merely for the special effects and good opening scene. However, after that it all boils down to almost 2 hours of boredom. The action is bland and all has been done before. The acting and script, if you can call it that, is so plain and painfull. The talent that is there is completely wasted on this follow up. Troma studios would've done a better job than this. Not worth buying, only viewable if you are completely and utterly bored and there is nothing left on the shelves of your local video store.
