Summary: TRAGEDY !
Review: Schumacher, why did you give us, Batman fans, this terrible demonstration of film-making? Why one of the most charismatic comic characters of all times had to be destroyed in this brainless history ? he (Batman) was at least "surviving" in the other three pictures, maintaining some credibility ( isay some because comic characters always loose their real charisma when going to the big screen(. Sad picture. It's not Clooney's fault. It's pure bad screenplay.

Summary: Wholly disappointing, Batman!
Review: Part way through this disappointing film, Robin says "I want a car - chicks dig the car", in response to which Batman wisecracks "This is why Superman works alone!".

This kind of pitiful 'comedy' dialog typifies the problem with this fourth Batman film - the series has lost its identity and with it all sense of self-respect. Several more old-school Batman characters are churned through the Joel Schumacher mangle, out of the comics and onto the silver screen: Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze and Batgirl.

The producers must be worried - they're running out of premier-league Batman villains; only The Scarecrow and Clayface are left! They'll have to start recycling soon - or resurrect the Joker.

The only way to enjoy 'Batman and Robin' is to take it as a all-out camp romp - this fourth new-Batman film exhibits a return to high camp of the sixties US TV series. And George Clooney could have made such a good *serious* Batman - tall, dark and brooding.

The only way for the Batman series to recover from this nadir is for the creators to return to the source: the comics. There have been some great Batman graphic novels in the last decade (The Killing Joke, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman Year I, The Long Halloween) - if one of these were to become the fifth Batman film, the series would retain its place in my affections.

Summary: The Worst Film Ever!
Review: My biggest regret about posting a review here is that you can not give negative stars and this film certainly deserves them. Joel Schumaker movies at their best are good enough maybe to sit through until the end. Most just need to be turned off half way through, (those doubting try to remember 8mm? Dying Young?) And believe it or not I am not one of those rabid BAT-Fans who think "So and So" is the only Batman. This moive is just plan bad! The plot is stupid, the characters are dumber, if you changed the names of all the characters and locations to something else this movie would still be stupid. The dialouge sounds like a 4 year was playing with Batman action figures and some one just wrote it down. Poison Ivy actually says "Curses" for God sakes. No villian in film has sent that and meant it in 80 years. Yet god ol Joel felt it worked great. This film needed someone, anyone who had at least seen a film in charge. I can't believe people actually pay him to make them. But that's the reason why he has no Oscar on his mantle. I hope he doesn't have a space for one either. It would be waste of space. A bit like this film.

Summary: SCHUMACHER BURIED THE SERIES...
Review: Sorry for Cloney, but this movie is a tragedy of easted money, wasted talent, lack of script. It is as if the producers decided to say: "Let's delete all Batmán glory and make a fun of him". It's horrible.

Summary: Absolutely SILLY!
Review: I'm not going to waste much time and words to describe how silly is this movie! It's simply a waste of money and talent... so many reknown people in the plot for what? They add nothing. The story is stupid, the action adds nothing new, the mad guys make lough (like in all Batman movies, by the way), etc... An example of how a big budget and big means can do nothing in front of a nonsense of story and project.

Summary: What happened to the Batman franchise?
Review: This is absoultely the worst Batman of all. The makers of Batman&Robin took the new and stylized look of Batman Forever and went to far! George Clooney is ceratinly no Batman. Robin is just annoying(unlike in Batman Forever). And even the idea of Batgirl is stupid. The film is filled with cheezy comic relife, and bad and boring action. When is saw this I said where is te fun that was in the first three. Batman fans are advised to stay away from this trash. The only high points are that the film is occasionly fun and some of Gotham's looks are pleasing to the eye.

Summary: A huge piece of sugary, gooey eye-candy
Review: Though it's really pretty to look at, with all those dazzling special effects and color-drenched backdrops, I just can't seem to take it seriously, nor get any goosebumps at all. In comparsion to the serious, dark Batman of 1989, this film here makes a very dizzy but thrilling carnival ride and costume parade with a good deal of sexuality (both in males and females alike) and saucy friskness thrown in. The director probably attempted some serious sophistication in the vein of the old Tim Burton touch, but he didn't really come close in most places. And not all of the scenes are accurate to real life - for instance, telescopes are usually located in remote areas, not in the very middle of a huge, sprawling metropolis, nor do they need all those flashy images of animated planets constantly rolling across their surface. But again, it's still a fun ride and an very amusing fantasy for anyone who would care to indulge in.

Summary: STAY AWAY! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!
Review: This movie is nothing more than a barrage of cheap one-liners. The pathetic story is a watered down waste of ink, and the characters are poor examples of their comic counterparts. What happend to the cold-hearted Mr. Freeze? In this movie, he is the happy evil-doer. Poison Ivy appears to know more about makeup than she does about plants. And George Clooney certainly doesn't display enthusiasm for his role. If you only rent one movie this year, make sure this isn't it.

Summary: This is bad.
Review: I repeat this movie is phemoninaly bad. It's terrible. Where is good old Tim Burton when you need him. I strongly advise you not to waste your time or money on this trash. Too bad zero stars is not an option, because I'd give it to this terrible movie. This is the worst movie I have seen sinceI can't remember!
