Summary: Now that i have seen the film all i can say is Wow!
Review: this movie is ranked second best marvel film to me the hulk is a fun movie althrough it is slow in the beginning but its only because its telling the story of the hulk it reveals everytihng about him until he turns into the hulk then u can see the hulks results i hate people who cut down this movie because the cgi graphics are fake well to me they are top notch this is a 4 star movie it deserves four stars and i was never really a big fan of hulk either but i knew of him so i saw it anyways see this movie if your a comic fan or like good tales mysterious plots this film is going to be a good piece in any dvd collection when it comes out and also eric bana did a great job portraying the hulk and the best job he did its cool because eric bana is a new actor so this movie will most likely give him credit

Review: Anyone who says this movie will surpass the success of Spider-Man is wishing unless there are more fans unfamiliar with the comics than people like me who have been familiar with the stories since I was little(even though I'm not an avid reader nor did I ever see the 1st comic books). Personally, I saw too little anger and too much writing in this origin film. It's as if they wanted to rewrite the origin as they did with Peter Parker developing natural web glands, but the mixture of elements left me with the question: "What is the true cause of the Hulk's transformation?" I know people's answers will be divided and they won't be able to give a concrete resolution because even I wasn't sure. What Stan Lee describes as a mix of Dr Jeckyl/Hyde and Frankenstein production...I just couldn't see it. Perhaps the greatest miscue was the lack of emotion in the cast. General Ross wasn't so fiery, Banner wasn't so troubled, the Hulk wasn't so mindless and enraged and Betty wasn't scared much at all of the terrifyingly huge behemoth(oh and what was with Talbot? Didn't seem right at all). On top of all that, the split pannel camera work riddling the film thinned tension and increased frustration as I tried to get caught up in what was happenning(Spider-Man was shot just fine). One thing I WILL congratulate the artists on is the progression of the PANTS issue;p THAT was well done. And, Nick Nolte did a decent job of playing a twisted mess of a father(ironically named DAVID Banner as was the name of Bill Bixby's character in the old TV series). I was mildly amused by the cameo appearance of two individuals(was it just me or was the old man repeating his line over and over?). [Suggestion for the expected sequel? No more shifting of camera panels, less cramming, more anger and mindless rage, more struggle for sanity(look at the '96 cartoon for tips, 'K?), and let's get to the villain I expected to see first(the Leader)--if not introduce the She-Hulk element.] Overall though, if this movie does do better in sales than other Marvel projects so far, I'd bet my money that the makers scored more new fans than old. But, as much as I can say against The Hulk, I'd still see it once(and I'm even interested in seeing it again to look at some elements once more) just because--ay, it's the summer, it's a comic hero movie...it's one I was waiting for(even if I wasn't scared at all nor thoroughly pleased).

Review: This had to be one of the biggest film disappointments in recent memory! The plot just plodded along and once Bruce Banner became "The Hulk" I thought the action would REALLY start but instead it seemed to me that he would go back and fourth between B.B. and The Hulk too often. Plus,Eric Bana and Nick Nolte didn't add anything at all to their characters and Jennifer Connelly wasn't all that great either. One wishes Bill Bixby was still with us to breathe life into B.B.(for those who remember the 70's show). I also wish Lou Ferrigno had a more substantial part! ... Avoid unless you're a sadist or have never either read the comic or have seen the T.V. show from the 70's.

Review: The Hulk is a huge disappointment. The scientific dialogue is too difficult to understand. It takes entirely too long for the movie to pick up in pace and the Hulk itself looks like a character on a Saturday morning cartoon. There is no real plot and the most interesting part of the movie is the last 5 minutes. There is not anything loveable about the Hulk or any of the characters so you aren't drawn to any of them to even care about their situations. Bottomline - don't waste your money, wait for it to come out on video.

Review: The Hulk series years ago was great but this movie isn't. The scenes are drawn out and dialogue poor. The creation of the Hulk character is amazing but there is too much violence once the action starts. I was disappointed and bored.

Summary: The Special Effects Were Worth It..
Review: I spent [money] to watch the HULK (Big green dude) smash some major [stuff]... And that's exactly what I got. There was the hulk tossing cars. The hulk smashing stuff. The hulk jumping on mountains, something even Superman would envy. But, I left the theater feeling...empty. I wanted to know who the HULK was. I really don't understand why this movie was so long. Most of the chit-chat scenes were unnnessary and even made my usually attentive brother glance at his watch. This movie spent this WHOLE time showing you snippits of the hulk's childhood. It's AGONIZING. They show a 3 second clip of something dramatic that would have made the whole movie more understandable, only to cut it off. And then, in the last 30-or-so minutes, they replay the whole 'event' and you're like "Oh...ok. Is that it??!" The only comic superhero made-movie I ever enjoyed was Spider-man. Now I realize why, there was a story to it. A real life story. Not some wishy-washy 'love conquers all' epic, but a freakin story!

Review: i saw the hulk last saturday and my parents thought the whole story was awful because in the original series the characters didn't know who the hulk was but in the movie they knew who he was. i thought it was funny when the hulk picked people up they looked like dolls.

Review: This is one of those movies that probably would have been better released as an independant. It seems most people were expecting another Spiderman, X Men or Daredevil. But NO! The Hulk was the first comic character of his kind. People disliked the original Hulk mag because it was weird and different, but in time they learned to love it to death. Some people will dislike this film because it is the same in every way. In fact, it's safe to say that I have never seen a movie like this before in my life. But in time I think this will become a cult classic. The pioneering cinematography is stunning. I can understand how it could be confusing to some (the split screens and other cinematographic tricks), but to someone who loves film as ARTISTIC EXPRESSION, it is absolutely brilliant. Most comic book geeks will be dissapointed because this film was not based page by page, pannel by pannel on the comic book. So what?! Grow up and learn to appreciate art. The liberties taken with this film are no less extreme than those taken with the original 1977 telefilm. As for the Hulk, he looks incredible. (dorky pun, I know) Of course at times it's obvious that the Hulk isn't real... but then again how real would a 9 to 15 foot tall green giant look in real life? The CGI fx were spectacular. The best I've ever seen. Period. They beat the heck out of the crummy fx used in Spiderman. The hulk really comes to life. We see his muscles moving beneath his skin. We see REAL emotion expressed in his face, real anger in his eyes. It's about as real looking as you're going to get with the current advancement of CGI. (Which is pretty dang advanced) So get off it and suspend your disbelief! Also the tone of the film.... yes it's slow at the beginning, but to those of us who enjoy films that are made outside of the "Hollywood cookie cutter" will appreciate all the scientific blabber that really is very interesting. And yeah the movie is DARK. Depressing, melodramatic, confusing at times, scary, and very subdued. This is not, I repeat NOT a superhero movie. Forget the lighthearted, action packed Marvel movies that have become so popular. This is one part Monster Movie (i.e. King Kong, Frankenstein), one part psychological melodrama (i.e. The Seventh Seal) and one part Science Fiction with an emphasis on the Science. This is not a kids movie. It's way too deep for children (or some adults it seems) to fully understand. The "Hulk Out" scenes are absolutely adrenalin pumping! They handled the transformation scenes way better than I thought. The action scenes (used TASTEFULLY, not sparingly) are great fun and not overdone and overused, as in most films of this kind. If the plot seems incoherant and the artsy cinematography too confusing, maybe it would be best to stick to "normal, every day" films. This is a highly artsy and expressive film. If the CGI looks bad to you, I have this to say: If you think you can do better, be my guest!! Overall, the most interesting Comic Book film since Tim Burton's Batman.

Summary: Misunderstood
Review: I've noticed that most people who disliked this movie can't really give a decent criticism for feeling the way they do. As for those who say it took too long for the Hulk to finally appear on the screen, maybe they fail to realize that Ang Lee was trying to actually weave some kind of a story before feeding eye candy. I guess these so called "critics" also forgot about a movie called "Superman" that also took a fair bit of time before the super-hero finally appeared on the screen. The Hulk is one of the most emotionally complex super-heroes I can think of and Ang Lee does a fantastic job of showing the traumatic beginnings of Bruce Banner and his genesis into the monster. And when the Hulk does show up he causes so much havoc that not even the U.S military can contain him. In the end the Hulk appears to be more like a tragic hero rather than a superhero. His powers drive the woman he loves away while seducing a father he never really knew. Indeed, one wonders if the Hulk can save himself let alone other people.
