Summary: DVD bonus features elevate overall rating
Review: The film itself gets three stars, but the value-added material included in the DVD release merits an overall higher rating for the whole package.

I'd not seen this film in the theaters, and I was certainly aware of all the unfavorable reviews. That said, I purchased this DVD sight-unseen primarily for the Fuel and Evanescence music videos. The 2-disc DVD set is very reasonably priced for what you get. I won't list all the extras here because they are included with this product's listing and in about a hundred other customer reviews. But any reservations I had about dropping the $$$ to buy this were alleviated by the wealth of bonus materials and that the film wasn't as terrible as I'd heard.

Granted, it is not a terribly exciting or engrossing film. It feels like we've seen too many films just like it (except better) recently. But at the very least it is very competently made, and Colin Farrell steals every scene he's in.

So if you are a fan of the bonus features that come with Special Edition DVD's, you could do a lot worse than to buy this selection. "Daredevil" may not have been worth purchasing in a movie-only format, but the extra features more than make up for where the film disappoints, and then some.

Summary: Disappointing....
Review: OK, I was reading these reviews, and I just don't get them. Some people are acting as if this movie is the greatest thing in history (it's not), while others act as if it was just the worst thing ever (it's not). It's mediocre!!! I would give it 2 1/2 stars if I could. There really isn't much of a plot, but the special effects are tight, and I guess the messages of love, justice, etc. can be cool. Personally, I would not buy this (unfortunately I did) but I would rent it at least. Just don't expect it to be Spiderman or something. By the way, if you're a rock fan, check out the soundtrack for the movie.

Summary: Surprisingly Spectacular !!! A Future Cult Classic !!!
Review: The reviews on this movie are so mixed that it doesn't even seem like everyone saw the same film. Why some don't like it I will never understand. There are just so many great things to say about DAREDEVIL! It is so dark, so fascinating and original... That's why it would be a mistake to compare it with ANY other super hero film.

The biggest problem I've seen with all the other comic book flicks is that they lose their appeal because the filmmakers try too hard to please literally EVERYONE from five-year-olds to middle aged moms. Such is not the case here. Daredevil was especially made for lovers of original cinema and obviously for the comic book fans as well.

The movie is very fast paced, and it seems as though every single scene in the film has at least one intriguing or memorable moment. The acting and the music score also deserve a lot of praise. We hear way too many other soundtracks that simply don't push the dramatic moments to their full potential.

The bottom line is that Daredevil may not be for everyone, but those who do appreciate it will find themselves watching it over and over again... This is what great filmmaking is all about!

BRING ON THE SEQUELS!!!!

Summary: If your into sound,,,,,,
Review: and have a 6.1 or 7.1 system then you'll really want to see and hear this film. I have a THX 7.1 system and even though i thought the film was lacking in all aspects, the sound is out of this world. I'm not a fan of this kind of film, it was fun to watch but not really worth the money to buy. The extras are kind of a waste of time but the 6.1 is well worth it.

Summary: If you buy one comic book movie on DVD ... Dare!
Review: Despite all the grousings of fan boys out there, this movie captured the spirit of Daredevil and Elektra right out of the comics. And the tone of the movie is perfectly rendered - dark and romantic, but never the depths of despair or too real. Melodrama - reality with all the boring parts taken out! That was Frank Miller's motto and that is what you get here. Ben Affleck turns in a romantic and vioent turn as Matt Murdock, the first blind superhero in the Marvel universe. And despite stunt celebrity casting somehow the rest of the cast is well matched. Jennifer Garner does not have the Greek look or even the red costume of Elektra, but she can kick the [stuff] out of anybody and still look beautiful doing it. Michael Clark Duncan plays Kingpin, and despite the white version found in the comics ... he's more than perfect. And Collin Farrell as Bullseye is a joy to watch! The movie may try to move too quickly over so much territory, and sometimes it seems rushed. But I was relieved to realize it was one hour and forty minutes, and not the bloated 2 hour plus running time of most comic book movies. This is one the girls can get behind too, because Elektra is beautiful and deadly and the equal of any fighter in the movie. It's fun, it's entertaining, and it moves like a runaway train! What more can you ask for?Well... the DVD is tricked out with more features than you can imagine! Two discs, commentary, documentaries, text commentary, behind the scenes branching, music videos, making of the movie and the history of the COMIC! Each documentary runs as long or longer than the movie! It's powerfully well done by Fox who always sets the bar and raises it. There are Easter Eggs with outtakes, interviews with everyone down to the woman who sewed the coat for Bullseye. Even if you find fault with the movie, you can't critize the DvD. It's what dreams are made of. And that's why I give it 5 stars!

Summary: Dark, Yet A Pretty Good Film
Review: Daredevil is a pretty good film. It doesn't beat "Spider-Man" or "Batman". Yet, it stomps the recent "Hulk" down. Daredevil is set away from all the usual superhero movies. Daredevil is just a regular human that has some unique abilites. He isn't like a Spider-Man who can shoot webs or anything. He doesn't become green and big when he gets angry. He is just an average blind man in the day, and a superhuman by night. He shows that he isn't perfect. If he gets stabbed, he gets stabbed and bleeds. If you try to even shoot some of these superheroes, they just block the bullets off of them. So remember that Daredevil is a regular human being with unique abilities, not some Hulk or Spider-Man. This movie is very dark also. It isn't as colorful as Spider-Man or SuperMan. No, this whole movie makes you feel like you are in a dangerous place. It is a good idea for this movie.

Plot - Young Matt Murdock (Scott Terra) is blinded by biohazard substances. He is blind, but uses his other four senses. He soon gains a radar sense which helps him see through his remaining senses. He also becomes stronger in his body. When his father is killed, he decides to use this radar sense and strength to bring justice to people.

Years later, Matt (Affleck) is a lawyer by day and Daredevil by night. There are rumors going around about the Kingpin Of Crime. Is he a man or a myth? The Kingpin (Duncan) is the "kingpin of crime". He also is tied to the death of Matt's father. Matt meewts up with Elektra Natchios (Garner). Her father works for the Kingpin and is killed off by hitman, Bullseye (Farrell). Matt Murdock decides that he must use his powers to rid the city of Kingpin and his assistant, Bullseye.

I thought it was a good plot. It was kind of the same as every superhero plot though. Bad guys come to town, good guy needs to save everybody, etc. (95/100)

Acting - The acting in this movie isn't exactly on par. I thought that many people in the movie weren't right for the roles. I never was really in love with comic books. I wouldn't know if these people did fit the roles perfect or not. Well, Ben Affleck made a believable blind man. He did have the look of it. He was also great as Daredevil. Colin Farrell steals the show as Bullseye. He makes the little laughs and giggles that kind of scare you. I didn't really like the acting of Jennifer Garner. She was kind of corny as Elektra and didn't like her as much as usual. Michael Clarke Duncan did okay as Kingpin, but wasn't amusing. (90/100)

Action And Violence - I love action movies! It was one reason I picked this movie out. I never read the comics (like I said above), but I heard this movie was packed with action. There is a lot of action in this movie. Yet, some scenes are a bit too quick. They are a bit choppy and are confusing to follow. It wasn't a huge problem. Yet, I would have liked to see the scene a bit better. (90/100)

There is a lot of violence in this movie. This movie is aimed for teenagers instead of youngsters. There is a lot of stabbings, shootings, fights, brawls, and much more. I thought the movie needed this though. The violent scenes are sometimes hard to watch, but are very good at the end. (92/100)

Overall - This movie is pretty good. I think that it definitely deserves a rental. Then you decide if it is worth buying. I liked it! Yet, it doesn't beat Spider-Man. It is a very dark, violent, and gritty look into a new superhero known as Daredevil. It is worth the ride.

Overall : (92/100) A-

Summary: OH NO!
Review: NOT ANOTHER CORNY SUPERHERO? HIS EYES GOT MESSED UP BUT HE IS STILL GOOD LOOKING. A LAWYER BY DAY, SUPER HERO BY NIGHT... SORRY THIS IS NOT WORTH IT! A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. DON'T BUY IT, JUST RENT IT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SEE BEN AFFLECK!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: I Wouldn't Even Dare The Devil To Watch This!
Review: My hopes for this movie were shattered. It was extremely fake. I didn't like the whole "I want revenge" thing. It took the "superhero" out of Daredevil. The stunts and moves, as well at the scenery were so bogus. I felt like I was watching a CGI movie rather than a superhero thriller.

I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone. It was quite violent! That was something I didn't expect.

Take my advice, save your money and spend it on something useful. This movie is not worth it. Not you money, your time, or your energy.

Summary: Not as good as Spider-Man, but still very entertaining.
Review: My opinion is that all these comic book movies should have one goal: Create a movie just as good as Spider-Man. Daredevil falls short of Spider-Man, they have a long way to go to make this as good as Spider-Man. Daredevil is very dark and awefully violent, but it's darkness is what gives the movie character. This movie will probably never be better than Spider-Man, or X-Men, or The Incredible Hulk for that matter, but it's better than Blade, and the recent Batman movies. This movie overall wasn't terrific, but I remember leaving the first X-men movie a little dissapointed. But of course I was blown away by the second movie X2: X-men United. So I'd be willing to give Daredevil 2 a try, when a movie has a lot of flaws that leaves a lot of oppertunities to fix things.

Summary: Daredevil : The Man Without Fear
Review: Daredevil is the story of 12 year-old Matt Murdock , a boy who loses his sight as a kid, but gives him super senses other than sight. After his father is killed a short time afterwards, he promises to fight for justice. Years later, he is a grown lawyer in Hell's Kitchen, and battling crime at night as Daredevil: The Man Without Fear. Then he meets Elecktra, daughter to a millionare man involved in crime. When her father tries to leave, the Kingpin hires Bullseye, a hired assissian who never misses a shot, to kill him. That night,Matt is invited to a party by Elecktra, after having a sex scene, there the Kingpin gives Elecktra's father the death hint. They try to escape, but Bullseye is waiting for them. Daredevil trys to stop him, but Bullseye uses Daedevil's cane to kill the millionare. Electra see Daredevil while Bullseye leave and tinks it's him. Elecktra goes after Daredevil the next night trying to kill him, she puts a dagger in his shoulder and pulls off his mask revealing he's Matt Murdock. Just then, Bullseye shows up, and after a long fight he kills Elecktra by using her dagger through her chst. Finally Daredevil goes after Bullseye, meeting him in the church, he uses all kinds of glass, darts and other weapons he could kill anyone else with, but misses every shot! Daredevil corners him up in front of the stained glass in the top middle of the church and pushes him off of it, the glass breaks and Bullseye hits the police cars glass outside, killing him. Daredevil goes after Kingpin and they battle shortly, utill Daredevil breaks the Kingpin's kneecaps. The police arrive aqnd take him away but he tells Daredevil he'll get out and will kill him. The next day, on the roof, Matt finds a chain similar to Electra's except says ELECKTRA in Braile. Could it be? I guess we'll have to wait for DAREDEVIL 2 to come out. Daredevil was more darker and violent than Spider-Man and had some more adult content, but over all it was a good movie. I rate this movie 5 stars because that's as high as I can get.
